We have eight kids and after six months the floor looks like it did when we put it in. Easy to install. I would recommend purchasing or renting a nailer that will shoot thru bamboo. This is really solid stuff. I tried a trim nailer on the starter edge and ended up pre drilling and hand nailing. Love the floor.

Living room and family room. So far I love it and it looks great. I was concerned about the strong smell at first but it went away after a few days. It was glued down. I have an 8month old and two cats so there is definitely a lot going on here, but I clean it often and can't complain. I was also concerned about it scratching but all is well.

Put in new kitchen. Looks nice but scratches to easy. Finish is very soft even though bamboo is hard. When nailing have to be very careful because edges break easy

Floor looks great! Nice product at a nice price. Stapling the floor wasn't easy, as the staples like to bend dues to the denseness of the wood. Had to push the gun VERY hard against the wood to prevent kickback. if allowed to kickback, the staples would NOT go in cleanly. So have a pair of needle nose pliers handy when nailing this floor down. Still even with that, 2 of laid 630sq ft in a day and a half.

This specific 3/8th's inch bamboo is great once it's down on the floor, but pretty dificult to install because the wood will splinter very easily. Overall, my new floors look amazing. Also, this product only comes in 6ft lengths, so you will have to make a LOT of cuts. Make sure not to waste.

I was surprised by the variance in bamboo "grain" some lighter then others and some with light stripes. Also the finish is not smooth. I would not call it rough though. It's just "not smooth" enough that you feel it with bare feet or hear it when wearing socks.
Installing was difficult in that the tongues split a lot and light gauge staples (20ga)have a hard time going into the wood. Used 20ga flooring stapler.
What I do like is how hard the finish is. I also like how the bamboo was joined. Some bamboo floor is made using uniform strips of bamboo glued together to form one piece of flooring. This flooring looks like the bamboo was "ripped" apart the glued and pressed together to form one larger solid piece. While this doesn't sound like it would look nice, it actually makes each plank look like it was made from one piece of bamboo
Overall the floor looks great and the price was worth it.

You need the right tools to install this floor! I highly recommend spending the money on the Nailer offered by Lumber Liquidators. We haven't been able to find a nailer locally (pneumatic, or otherwise) that would handle this flooring.
Put this floor in our dining room. Went down easily and wears great!

The final result is great. We received our order in a timely fashion. However, I would never order the 7/16 thickness or a closeout again. We had great difficulty finding the proper tool and cleats that we could use to install the flooring. The mixture of coloring left a lot to be desired.
We are remodeling our Kitchen, we had decided on using Bamboo flooring due to its strength. We found this at such a good price we decided to get enough for the Dining and living room as well! Very few "bad" pieces, it has great color and variant. Cuts fairly easy and lays out nice. I wish I had more rooms to do! I would definitely purchase this again.

3/8" bamboo flooring can be glued to flat level concrete free from contaminates, moisture, and sealers or you can have bond failure. Troweled on Moisture Barrier is recommended if subfloor is on or below grade concrete. Always use the same manufacturer of moisture barrier and adhesive or combo type adhesive moisture barrier.Q:

Can bamboo flooring be used in a kitchen and or a laundry room?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Yes bamboo is a good choice for kitchens but we highly recommend you put a throw rug by the sink because an excess of water can damage any floor. Like hardwood flooring, spills should be toweled dry promptly. Strand type bamboo is a very hard and dent resident flooring material and is a good consideration for kitchens. Morning Star Bamboo brand has a quality finish that would be necessary in a high traffic area like a kitchen. Laundry can be fine as long as there is not persistent moisture and humidity.Q:
Can this floor be installed as a floating floor over cement?1 answer
A:
Unfortunately not recommended.Q:
I know you reference the Morning Star instructions for this product. The instructions indicate not to mount base cabinets over the flooring. Is this true for nail down applications with this product? I've seen it done before with other nail down products and even the linked pictures to this product show it that way... thanks for the help.1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Flooring should be installed AFTER cabinets are installed. This is because flooring needs to expand and contract freely or it may buckle. Expansion gaps are needed around perimeter and around any fixed vertical obstructions. Quarter Round molding or shoe molding is used to cover the expansion gap.Q:
Can this flooring be used in a bathroom?1 answer
A:
Due to the excessive moisture present in a full bath we cannot recommend any of our solid natural flooring or laminate products for this application, I would suggest one of our vinyl Tranquility products. We have a 2mm peel and stick and now a 4mm click together product that can go in full bath areas or where moisture is a concern. Thank you for your inquiry.Q:
We installed the strand carbonized bamboo flooring a couple of years ago and love it. However, recently have noticed a quite a few hair line scratches in a certain area...is there any way to rub those out or can they be sanded down? What would be your recommendation. Thanks1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
If needed, bamboo flooring can be fully re-sanded and finished about three times as any other species
