Strand
Twice as hard as oak, strand bamboo is an optimal choice for busy homes when durability is needed to stand up to the wear and tear of family foot traffic, active kids and even pets.

To make strand bamboo, shredded bamboo fibers are compressed under extreme heat and pressure.  This manufacturing process yields flooring that is even harder and more dense than traditional bamboo floors.

And, since bamboo is a naturally sustainable grass that re-grows spontaneously after harvest, you can feel good about making an environmentally friendly flooring decision.

It's simple...
Eco-Friendly. Beautiful look. Beautiful price.

Cut the boards face down or the face will splinter. Must use 18ga stapler or tongue will splinter. Splinters are very fine and get in your feet and hands. This flooring was easy to handle and move around the house. I used silicon paper as a moisture barrier. The finished floor is gorgeous!

                Best Uses

We have eight kids and after six months the floor looks like it did when we put it in. Easy to install. I would recommend purchasing or renting a nailer that will shoot thru bamboo. This is really solid stuff. I tried a trim nailer on the starter edge and ended up pre drilling and hand nailing. Love the floor.

Living room and family room. So far I love it and it looks great. I was concerned about the strong smell at first but it went away after a few days. It was glued down. I have an 8month old and two cats so there is definitely a lot going on here, but I clean it often and can't complain. I was also concerned about it scratching but all is well.

Floor looks great! Nice product at a nice price. Stapling the floor wasn't easy, as the staples like to bend dues to the denseness of the wood. Had to push the gun VERY hard against the wood to prevent kickback. if allowed to kickback, the staples would NOT go in cleanly. So have a pair of needle nose pliers handy when nailing this floor down. Still even with that, 2 of laid 630sq ft in a day and a half.

This specific 3/8th's inch bamboo is great once it's down on the floor, but pretty dificult to install because the wood will splinter very easily. Overall, my new floors look amazing. Also, this product only comes in 6ft lengths, so you will have to make a LOT of cuts. Make sure not to waste.

                                • Variance In Bamboo Grain

                                Best Uses

I was surprised by the variance in bamboo "grain" some lighter then others and some with light stripes. Also the finish is not smooth. I would not call it rough though. It's just "not smooth" enough that you feel it with bare feet or hear it when wearing socks.

Installing was difficult in that the tongues split a lot and light gauge staples (20ga)have a hard time going into the wood. Used 20ga flooring stapler.

What I do like is how hard the finish is. I also like how the bamboo was joined. Some bamboo floor is made using uniform strips of bamboo glued together to form one piece of flooring. This flooring looks like the bamboo was "ripped" apart the glued and pressed together to form one larger solid piece. While this doesn't sound like it would look nice, it actually makes each plank look like it was made from one piece of bamboo

Overall the floor looks great and the price was worth it.

You need the right tools to install this floor! I highly recommend spending the money on the Nailer offered by Lumber Liquidators. We haven't been able to find a nailer locally (pneumatic, or otherwise) that would handle this flooring.

Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage a wood floor's finish. Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factors that influence wear and durability.

This product can be nailed or glued. The only way to float this floor is over our Elastilon Self-adhesive underlayment.

                                        A:

3/8" bamboo flooring can be glued to flat level concrete free from contaminates, moisture, and sealers or you can have bond failure. Troweled on Moisture Barrier is recommended if subfloor is on or below grade concrete. Always use the same manufacturer of moisture barrier and adhesive or combo type adhesive moisture barrier.

Coverage per gallon is 30 to 35 sq.ft. for Bostik Best Adhesive.

You can find coverage information and more on adhesives and moisture barriers by typing, "adhesive" here - www.lumberliquidators.com/ll/flooring/Flooring101
