Lisbon Cork Co. Ltd. Fine Cork Flooring combines the beauty of a natural material with the comfort of a cushioned surface.
It is durable, acoustical, and a great insulator.  The bark of the cork tree is peeled without destroying the tree and it grows back within nine years, ready to be harvested again.
Warm to the touch and resilient, cork floors are a joy to live with.
It is considered a green product because the same tree can be harvested numerous times.

Did you know?
An estimated 60-70 million Americans are affected by house dust, which can cause itchy eyes, sneezing, rashes, breathing difficulty and sinus trouble because of trapped pollens and molds in carpets, upholstery and curtains.
Not even frequent vacuuming will eliminate those microscopic troublemakers.

Another good reason to go green with our Cork Flooring!

Comments about Lisbon Cork Sunset Cork Tile:

So far, so good. The tiles look great and went down relatively smoothly. The recommended adhesive requires dry time so make sure you have enough space to layout your tiles with glue on the back (in another room). We didnt realize it would need two coats of water based poly once installed, and it took a bit of research to get the adhesive we needed, so the prep work is much harder than the actual install. We rented a roller from a home improvement store. The value for the dollar on this cork seems really great. Cant wait to poly and move the furniture in.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Sunset Cork Tile:

So thankfully I started in a closet. I used the Mapei lightweight adhesive they sold me at LL. I tried to put it on lightly and let it sit for a while -- 30 minutes for the first two rows and almost an hour for the second two rows. By the end I was letting the glue sit for more than an hour before putting down tiles. This really cut down on the sliding and eliminated any glue oozing through the tiles. The biggest problem I had was keeping the tiles from shifting after placing them. I initially tried using a roller (which I rented for 22 bucks a day from [@]), but this only made things worse. the roller moved the tiles and I stopped using it. I just focused on smacking down the tiles in place without moving them. Good luck.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Sunset Cork Tile:

I installed this using Liquid Nail on the advice of the guy at Lumber Liquidators and didn't have any of the problems that some other people mentioned with curling, etc. from the glue.

I put this in my kitchen and the only thing I'd warn about is putting a rug beneath your table and chairs so the cork doesn't get dents in it. Other than that, this is the perfect floor; warm, comfortable, easy to clean, and minimal environmental impact.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Sunset Cork Tile:

Back in 2006 we used this tile because it was on sale cheap. Since it is finished we stained the "bottom" side of the tile with Bona Drifast stain and then glued it in "upside down" with vinyl floor adhesive on a concrete floor. We then finished it with Bona Traffic. It has held up very well for several years now with our family including a dog and a cat. It looks like a much more expensive floor with the stain and with the high end finish/sealer it has been super durable. We have even had water spilled on it a couple of times and not noticed it overnight and it wiped right up. Now we are building a new house and doing the same thing again.

They are sealed with 7 coats of urethane. Recommend professional installation. These tiles need to be glued with contact cement and can be un-forgiving if layout is not perfect. We glued the cork tiles down with Bostik adhesive which was recommended. We are having problems getting the excess glue off the tiles. We used too much glue on the first two rows and the glue seeped out when we were rolling it. Any ideas how to clean it? We have used the wipes from Bostick and it seems to only make the floor more sticky. Any way to smooth out the tiles that have more glue under than others?

You may be able to glue them down using 100% urethane adhesive. Adhesive failure may be a result of improper installation or flood mopping the floor.

Due to the excessive moisture present in a full bath we cannot recommend any of our natural flooring or laminate products for this application, I would suggest one of our vinyl Tranquility products. We have a 2mm peel and stick and now a 4mm click together product that can go in full bath areas or where moisture is a concern. Thank you for your inquiry.

It is also where my husband will play his instruments...will this floor offer some tepmerature and noise insulation alone or does it need something more under it?

And I am reading about treating the floor after installation. Is there a link I could look at to see exactly what installation entails?
