Morning Star Bamboo Flooring is one of the best bamboo floors on the market today. It is produced from old growth bamboo reeds that are at least 4 years old, thereby increasing hardness. Morning Star Bamboo Flooring creates a naturally beautiful and ecologically friendly product that evokes a feeling of luxury. Quick Highlights: Tiger Strand Strand To make strand bamboo, shredded bamboo fibers are compressed under extreme heat and pressure. This manufacturing process yields flooring that is even harder and more dense than traditional bamboo floors. Available in a variety of colors to complement and décor, all Morning Star strand bamboo products are finished with premium coating and backed by a 30 year warranty. And, since bamboo is a naturally sustainable grass that re-grows spontaneously after harvest, you can feel good about making an environmentally friendly flooring decision.

Comments about Morning Star 5/8" x 3-3/4" Tiger Strand Bamboo:
I installed this in an unused small bedroom (125 Square feet) which I converted into an office /den. Looks great. It really pops. The flooring took me two days to install, as I'm an old guy working alone. The flooring is new so nothing to complain about at this time. I do like this better than my engineered oak though, as I suspect it will hold up better to accidental spills.

Comments about Morning Star 5/8" x 3-3/4" Tiger Strand Bamboo:
This was used to floor my "man cave" after my daughter moved out. Pretty easy to install, fits perfect except for one piece. I did have to try three different blades to get the best crisp clean cut. I suspect that this bamboo will wear well due to its construction. I bought 8 cartons to do a 125 square feet which included the closet and they weighed 440 pounds. I had five pieces left over. I attempted to re-nail the bottom rail for the folding closet doors. It wasn't going to happen. The flooring was too hard. I had to drill and screw it down.

Comments about Morning Star 5/8" x 3-3/4" Tiger Strand Bamboo:
Due to durability I had this floor installed in every room of home including baths, kitchen and laundry area. One floor thruout makes home look larger and is a show stopper. I haven't had anything but rave reviews from visitors.

Comments about Morning Star 5/8" x 3-3/4" Tiger Strand Bamboo:
This flooring is amazing!! We absolutely love it, it is so easy to keep clean!! It is beautiful, my husband and I installed this with the help of a friend, none of us had any experience with this at all. It was a little slow at first but after we started figuring things out and getting the hang of it things went very quick. We put this in the living room, hall, and 3 bedrooms. I have never seen a more beautiful floor. We have dogs and a 7 and 8 yr old little boy and the floor is holding up great so far with no scratches. I am amazed at how easy it is for me to keep it clean too!! I just use the dry mop head that came with my floor cleaning kit from L.L. I am so very happy that I chose the bamboo floors!!! Also we bought the 18 gauge nailer for the bamboo, it worked so well, we didn't have any issues. We had very little waste and didn't come across one single board that was not usable or damaged in any way whatsoever. The only waste was from the ones we had to cut down. I cant imagine anyone not loving this floor!!

This stuff is awesome! It's so hard that it eats saw blades. The finish is great. Not overly shiny. Just right. Fairly easy to install. You just need to plan carefully. Takes a lot of time if doing it yourself but the overall result is amazing!

Comments about Morning Star 5/8" x 3-3/4" Tiger Strand Bamboo:
Enlisted the help of a co-worker and we installed 420 sq/ft in two days. The wood is a bit harder than normal wood but not impossible to deal with. I had a couple of places that splintered on edges during installation due to "stray" staples. We used 18g staples and not the suggested 18g cleats. I have not used the cleats so I cannot speak of the ease of use but the staples work very well. Make sure you order your floor vents ahead of time so they will be there for installation - it will make life much easier. I liked the sound of the bellawood premium underlayment over the other products and it is easy to work with - have plenty of razor knife blades and scissors on hand - it dulls them quickly.
Service and delivery comments:
The crew at lumber liquidators in Kennesaw, Ga are extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. I walked in kinda knowing what I was after and was directed in the right direction. I was expecting to spend a little more than what I did because they gave me a GREAT price on the products. Another good selling point is they are willing (and capable) of giving good advice. They take a big interest in what you are doing and how you are coming along during the project. I would never buy anywhere else! Thank you so much for your help and guidance Kennesaw Lumber Liquidators!!

Q:
I wanted to ask if this product would be ok to use in a bathroom1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Not recommended. May be fine in a half bath but full baths no as there is too much water/humidity.Q:
How easily does this product stain (coffee / red wine) and scratch?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
This will not stain as the finish seals the bamboo away from exposure. All flooring can scratch; Proper care will help prevent scratches.Q:
We are building a new house and I like this Tiger Strand Bamboo, my question is can we have radiant heat through the floors with this bamboo?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Engineered wood and floating floors (floors not attached to the subfloor) are recommended for radiant heat. However, if you should choose to use solid bamboo for this application note that even species with better dimensional stability characteristics cannot predictably be guaranteed to perform well over radiant heat. Therefore, solid bamboo applications over radiant in-floor heat is not recommended nor warranted. Because of the wide array of in-floor heating systems on the market each with its own features and limitations please consult with your radiant flooring provider for installation methods and application advice.Q:
Can this product be sanded and refinished if needed later. Does the color go all the way through1 answer
A:
Yes it can.Q:

CUSTOMER CARE
A:
1/4” x 1/4” V Notch trowelQ:
No one mentioned use in a kitchen? I was wondering how it would work? carla1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
High warranty bamboo (Morning Star;especially strand) is acceptable for installation in a kitchen, but we highly recommend you put a throw rug by the sink because an excess of water can damage any floor. Like hardwood flooring, spills should be toweled dry promptly.Q:
Can I use a Shark steam pocket mop to clean my bamboo floors?1 answer
A:
We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor. In addition, we do not recommend using steamers or wet-jet cleaning systems for hardwood because spraying can collect moisture in between board edges. The use of these products is at your own risk.Q:
Could I use strand bamboo on a kitchen counter?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Probably would not hold up because of the urethane finish. These floors, like pre-finished hardwood, can be damaged by damp/wet areas. Recommendation; look at our butcher block countertops. See - "How can I care for my new Butcher's Block Counter Top?" by typing, "butcher" here for complete details on finish choices - www.lumberliquidators.com/ll/flooring/Flooring101Q:
I have read some information on the flooring that I bought......Morningstar bamboo strand type. I am concerned about formaldehyde now since reading the blogs about the problems with this specific flooring. We have not installed the floor yet and I am wondering if I should return it before we encounter problems.1 answer
A:
The adhesive that is used in bonding our Bamboo, Cork, Engineered, and Laminate flooring products contain very low amounts of Urea Formaldehyde. We feel that our products are very safe and most meet California CARB Phase I or California Phase II regulations, which is listed on the boxes. We also list MSDS sheets for most of these products on the Lumber Liquidators website “Flooring 101”.Q:
Does this product contain urea or formaldehyde?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
This Bamboo flooring uses urea formaldehyde resins with less than 0.1% ppm formaldehyde. This is below the E1 European Emission Standards 0.14 (ppm) and they pass California Air Resources Board (CARB) regulations.
