Give your floors a REAL WOOD look and feel with St. James Collection!

St. James Collection by Dream Home - 12mm Toasted Chickory Laminate Flooring- 30 Year Warranty

St. James offers a regal alternative.

At 12mm, the St. James Collection is very durable and comes with a 30 year warranty!

Quick Installation Tips:
- Store flooring flat for 48 hours in its original packaging at room temperature.
- Must be installed over a clean, stable, flat, smooth, and dry surface.
- Moisture barrier is recommended for installations over concrete.
- Make sure the panels are mixed sufficiently when you install them so that you do not end up with too many identical, light or dark panels next to each other.

IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE ADDITIONAL PADDING:
Laminates having pre-attached padding can also be installed over an underlayment. When doing so, Lumber Liquidators recommends the use of our Bellawood Premium underlayment or ECO Silent Sound underlayment. These quality underlayments will best support the joints while ensuring superior thermal sound reduction qualities and are highly recommended for use with condominium associations, project planners and building specifiers.

St. James Collection's Advantages:
- No glue and no nails needed
- Easy Click Installation
- Moisture resistant board
- Thickness: 12mm + 3mm (1/8") pre-glued underlayment
- 30 Year Warranty

Very nice laminate

By The Fireman

from Suburbs of Chicago

Verified Reviewer

Pros

  • Durable
  • Easy to clean

Cons

  • Pay Some One To Install
  • Person Who Has Done It

Best Uses

  • Kitchen Or Tv Room
  • Living or Dining Room

It is a good product, much better to have someone who has installed it do that. You have to start with a straight line and continue throughout.

Careful when using laminate tools they have a tendency to damage laminate

Looks Great!

By Ryan

from Tacoma, WA

Verified Reviewer

Pros

  • Quality appearance
  • Variety of Tones

Cons

    Best Uses

I was look for a medium/dark tone to go with my gray walls and white trim. They blend perfectly. I didn't want a generic look across the board. The variable tones and board lengths help make it interesting. I highly recommend the sound proof pad I installed under it to make it sound better. Overall really happy with it, especially since I got it on clearance!

      Service and delivery comments:

There were a couple boards that came scratched/chipped, but we were able to trim them and utilize as beginner/end pieces. The guys at the store were really helpful and knowledgable. It really went a long way helping make a decision.

            Best Uses

            • Master Bedroom

We got this to redo a master bedroom that had concrete floor for years. We laid the plastic down and watched the videos on youtube. The first two rows were really hard, but after that it was a breeze. We did have to tap every single board in from the side and the end to get a nice fit though. In order to get the good fit, tapping one row sometimes moved the adjacent row so our ends were not even and we did have to add quarter round on one wall. Otherwise, it is beautiful and out of 6 boxes we only had one board that was unusable due to the vinyl being lifted on one corner. It cut nicely for fitting around edges also.

            Service and delivery comments:

The salesman was very knowledgeable about the product and helped us pick out what we needed with ease. They loaded up our car and off we went. We only had one board that was unusable where a corner of the picture had come off, but we will probably be able to use it for a cut one. I did have to go back and buy more and it was painless except that the price had gone up in a week. Took my old invoice with me but they would not honor the old price. The showroom and the online videos are awesome. Also, kudos to the webmaster for making a great website for them.

Have to dust every day because of the cat litter. Still easier than vacuuming.
I know my floors are alot cleaner than carpeting which holds everything.
I dropped something sharp which knicked the floor.

                  Service and delivery comments:

The installer discovered that the wrong end caps were ordered after the job was started. They could not get the proper end caps in Toasted Hickory in time to complete the job so substituted the closest color available. This effected the finished look because of the lighter end caps.

This product has a shiny finish, so I would never use it on the main floor of our house because too much natural light comes through. It would show every footprint and all the dust. I love it for our upstairs because not as much light comes in so you don't see all the dust and footprints as much. It's perfect for the hallway, bedrooms and bathroom, but I do wear house shoes so it helps with no footprints. I love the product!

How do I choose which direction to lay the boards? In my townhouse, when you first walk in the small narrow walkway, you are facing a wall with a window and a glass sliding door. The stairs and a closet are on your left, and a wide open dining area is on the right. I can see the benefits of laying the boards both perpendicular and parallel to the walk way, but cant decide.

Determine in which direction the planks will be installed. To make the room appear larger or if installing in very small rooms or hallways, it is preferable to lay the planks parallel to the longest room dimension

                                    A:

Regular Maintenance The under-surface of your new laminate flooring is overlaid with a moisture resistant Melamine resin-coated decor paper. This surface is protected with a very hard, Aluminum Oxide ware-layer to resist dirt, and this “factory cured” finish results in a most durable and one of the easiest surfaces to clean. Therefore, your new Laminate floor does not need to be waxed or polished. Never wet-mop or flood-mop your laminate floor. Never scrub with steel wool or any other coarse materials as this can permanently damage the surface or texture.

The following simple steps are usually all it takes to keep your floors clean.

For general cleaning, use a dust mop, or vacuum (without the beater bar) with the soft-floor attachment of your vacuum cleaner or wipe occasionally with a damp cotton or cloth mop. For heavier cleaning, use our Laminate Cleaner or Hardwood cleaner or similar swiffer type products. Cleaning products should be sprayed or applied to the cloth applicator not directly to the floor. Do not use soap or detergent-based cleaners, wax-based products or any type of polish on laminate floors as these may leave a dull, filmy residue. It is not recommended to wax or refinish your laminate floor.

We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor. Our Bellawood floor cleaner does not contain any polishes ,wax or anything that will build on the surface and is recommended to be used on all our flooring products. I do hear of this scenario often enough and it always prooves out that there was another cleaning product used previously on the floor that is reacting to the Bellawood cleaner. Most likely once the residue is removed from the original factory finish the floor can be maintained easily. Thank you for your inquiry.

Yes it can be used with the laminate flooring to cover a set of stairs but due to the overlap design of this nosing it would not be my first choice for full flights of stairs.

Do you need a transitional piece if the floor exceeds 30 square feet? I read this may be needed for expansion?
I think this would look terrible and will have me not purchase laminate flooring.

Unfortunately with this floating laminate extra expansion is required for connected areas over 27 continuous feet.

A little bit of water was spilled on the floor and now a few areas are puffing up. Is there a way to fix this problem without pulling up the boards???

Is the top layer of this laminate real wood? If so, how thick is it? Just wondering if it is thick enough to refinish once if I ever had to.
