Comments about Casa de Colour 3/4" x 3-5/8" Tobacco Road Acacia:
Beautiful product. Probably normal amount of defects. Have not put down enough floors to know. Recommend you go through every piece before install so as not to come up short. Were told to bring back a complete box if we need replacement. If you have more than one box, mix and match the defects into one box instead of bringing back all the boxes with just a few defects in them. Saves time and work. We did not have to replace any as there were so few defects we had plenty left over.

Comments about Casa de Colour 3/4" x 3-5/8" Tobacco Road Acacia:
This floor makes a gorgeous finished product! I had a problem with some warped pieces, some not finished properly on the tongue/groove side, a few that were about a sixteenth off in width, etc- but my local store gave me an unopened box to replace the bad pieces when I went in and reported the problem.
This is a very hard wood and is not easy to install compared to other types of flooring, but the difficulty level of a nail down floor is expected to be higher. I wouldn't recommend a nail down floor if this is your first DIY project, but if you are a skilled handy (wo)man then don't be afraid to try this!
Overall I am very happy with the transaction and the finished product!

We installed in our living room, a high traffic area. I love the color choice & durability of the hardwoods. We have cats that run all over the floors and they still look great.
Service and delivery comments:
We picked up lumber @ a location near by. The wood was received in good condition. The employees @lumber liquidators in Jamaica Plain were very helpful.

I spent a lot of money on "matching" stair molding and it does not match color of flooring. Next time I would just buy the treads rather than using flooring and molding.
The Bellawood Premium Underlayment worked nicely.

Comments about Casa de Colour 3/4" x 3-5/8" Tobacco Road Acacia:
We purchased the Tobacco Road Acacia because it was not only beautiful, but supposedly extremely hard. We have two rambunctious dogs and an equally rambunctious three year old. Within twelve hours of it being down we already had gouges in the wood from our standard poodle scrambling on the floors to get to the back yard. Despite its hardness, it scratches and gouges VERY easily. I do not recommend this floor to anyone with large, active pets.

The finshed product gives me a a lot of satisfaction. I did much of the install solo. A second and 3rd set of hands speed up the process exponentialy.

Comments about Casa de Colour 3/4" x 3-5/8" Tobacco Road Acacia:
loved the variability of color and consistent finish from box to box. The varied size of boards resulted in very little waste. Only a few boards that were not the same width or had damage or bad areas.

I would like to use this but have read about it scratching easily. Can I put a floor sealer or other product on top of the pre finished product. Is there something you would recommend??1 answer
A:
You could reseal prefinished flooring after it is installed, but this would void the finish warranty on the flooring and create extra expense for you after already buying a new floor with a 20, 30, or 50yr finish warranty. Adding a new finish won’t prevent all moisture from going into the seams. Wood will expand and contract with climate changes. If the flooring were to contract later and create seasonal gapping, a spill can cause water to get into the gaps. It is best to only add a new finish when the old finish starts to wear more than you like or if you have a lot of scratches you want covered up. We recommend that you use a professional sand and finish expert if you did decide to add a new finish to the flooring. Thank you for your inquiry.Q:
I am installing in-floor radiant heat for my home. Is this type of wood recommended for this type of heat? Does it affect the guaranty?1 answer
A:
Solid flooring should not be installed over radiant in-floor heat systems due to finish and stability issues.Q:
what would happen if we were to use the roofing paper as the underlayment1 answer
A:
For this solid nail down flooring roofing felt is recommended to as a moisture vapor retarder under nail, staple and floating floors over wood substrates. Recommended to use over crawl spaces, basements and garages.Q:
Can this be installed on the oceanfront?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Wood floors do perform best when maintained at 60°- 80° with humidity levels around 30%-50%. It’s worth noting that these optimum levels were originally established by the Federal Government, the USDA United States Department of Agricultural by laboratory testing. Later, the (NWFA) the National Wood Flooring Association and (NOFMA) the National Oak Flooring Manufacturers Association – Governing Bodies for hardwood organizations- have published and taught these findings to better assist hardwood installers and provide reasonable standards for consumer expectations. Lumber Liquidators endorses these standards.Q:
what type of finish is used on this product.1 answer
A:
This is a water based polyurethane finish with aluminum oxide throughoutQ:
