Virginia Mill Works Co.- 7/16" x 4-3/4" Tobacco Road Acacia - Easy Click - Stained Handscraped Engineered Flooring- 30 Year Warranty

Give your home a touch of that same simple elegance our ancestors cherished!
Colonial American homes were built with wooden floors that were sawn using basic hand-held tools. The hand-crafted workmanship that went into those floors can be found in Virginia Mill Works handscraped floors. Virginia Mill Works with easy click installation engineered flooring is constructed with a real hardwood handscraped veneer atop a moisture-resistant HDF (high density fiberboard) core which is made from real wood fibers that are compressed into a dense, impact-resistant format. In addition to providing extra protection against denting, the HDF enables the most precise milling of the locking profile to enhance ease of use and long-term durability.

Quick Highlights:
- Superior strength and stability in any room, including basements.
- Type of installation: Floating and made even easier with Easy Click installation system!
- Beautiful Hand Scraped finish
- 30 Year Warranty

About Handscraped Flooring:
Handscraped or distressed hardwood floors have a natural worn appearance. They look like floors from the days when floors were finished by hand.

New Virginia Mills Tobacco Road Acacia engineered flooring is simply beautiful. Looks like a new home. Kitchen and living room and hallways received new flooring. Was installed over tile and on top of eco-padding. Feels nice to walk on and seems easy to keep clean. I really love it!

We looked at a lot of flooring samples before deciding on the Tabacco Road Acacia and this was thanks in large part to Dan at the Santa Rosa, CA store. He had this flooring installed in his home and shared pictures of it with us. The pictures and the reviews here sold us on it. We have had it in for about a week now and we are beyond thrilled with it. It has transformed our living and family rooms. The price for the flooring was great, we used our own installers, and it took about 3 days. Our house is built on a cement slab and the old hardwood in the family room was glued directly to the cement and it was a job and a half to get it out. The living room was much easier as it was carpeted. If there was anything negative during this whole process it would be the cost of the transition pieces. They are crazy expensive in comparison to the flooring. In the end it just didn't matter much because we love our new floors. Thank you Lumber Liquidators and a special thanks to Dan.

This flooring we just installed in our lower level walk out basement. There is a lot of color and variation in pieces which is what we were looking for. We had had very little scrap and even less damaged pieces which I had mentally prepared for due to another person's review. Since our entire home is under renovation we are actively using this flooring and have yet to damage or scratch it. My dad and my husband were able to install the entire thing which was about 1200sq ft. So that saved us about $2200 which was the quote for the install. Our underlayment, padding, adhesive (for around the fireplace, entry) and self-leveling cement were all purchased at our local hardware store and were much cheaper and a better product. Overall we are very pleased with the look and way our floor came out.

Easy and quick to lay out these floors. Watch the alignment of pieces (don't line up ends, etc., it's in the instructions). WARNING: when you get to the end of a row, and have to cut a piece, it has the irritating ability to produce many small and painful splinters! Use caution, and definately use gloves when handling cut pieces of this wood.

I am considering installing this product on my 1st floor (living, dining and kitchen - no doors between the three areas). Since, its a long span from the living room all the way to the kitchen, do I need to leave any expansion gaps between the spaces (for example between living/dining and kitchen) and transition using a T-moulding?

I have this flooring and absolutely love it! However after I clean it with a wood floor cleaner (Bruce hardwood floor cleaner), and we walk on it with either bare feet or socks, or starts leaving a very cloudy appearance and smudges everywhere looking like I need to clean it again. Why is that? Can I wipe it with a damp cloth with water? I am getting frustrated at keeping it look good. It doesn't have a lot of shine to it, but the cloudy look and smudges keep happening. What can I do?

Try a micro-fiber lightly damp cloth. Sometimes these cleaners leave a build up. When using be sure you spray the mico-fiber mop and not the floor. Follow the manufacturer instructions carefully and try our Bellawood Cleaner when you run out. Again use as directed and if you get streaking or cloudiness, use less product, buff out with a micro-fiber cloth.

Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage any wood floor's finish. Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factors that influence wear and durability.

What is the construction of the core made of? I noticed from an earlier question it stated the core is made of either plywood or pine, but the display in the store appeared to be MDF.

Also can you tell me what type of top coat and how many layers this floor has?

For this hand scraped engineered product sanding and refinishing is not an option but to restore the original shine a screen and re-coat can be done any number of times using the correct floor machines.
A professional sand and finish expert would have to make the determination on site on which sanding process will be needed or which can be done to restore the floors shine. Not all engineered floors can be refinished because of having a thin veneer layer.

For general cleaning a swiffer type system works best. Not one that sprays the floor however. Lightly damp is fine but never soak or flood mop your floor. Do not use steam mops. Have a no shoes policy as much as possible. Use felt pads on all furniture. Sweep often.

Bellawood Cleaner works very well once a month. (use as directed),

In addition, Bona Kemi makes a decent hardwood flooring cleaner.

Do not use oil-type cleaner or wax of any kind.
