Quick Highlights:
Click Installation
Thickness - 10.5mm/13/32"
Width - 185mm/7-9/32"
Length - 1220mm/48"

DURABILITY - 25 year warranty same as traditional hardwood.
DESIGN - Architects, Designers and Home Owners love the color pallet and fashion patterns of cork.
COMFORT -  Cork is resilient which relives stress in the back and legs when standing on our floors.
WARMTH - Cork takes on the temperature of the room. Great for warm or cold climates.
QUIET - Cork is great for sound deadening due to the honeycomb cell structure of the bark. This reduces sound within the room as well as between floors in multi-level structures.
EASY MAINTENANCE -  Just sweep and spot clean for many years of use.

Lisbon Cork Co. Ltd. Fine Cork Flooring combines the beauty of a natural material with the comfort of a cushioned surface. It is durable, acoustical, and a great insulator.  The bark of the cork tree is peeled without destroying the tree and it grows back within nine years, ready to be harvested again. Warm to the touch and resilient, cork floors are a joy to live with. Cork is considered a green product because the same tree can be harvested numerous times.

Use of Underlayments:
Our Lisbon floating cork can be installed with or without an underlayment. However, superior thermal and sound isolation qualities can be achieved when installing over an underlayment. When doing so Lumber Liquidators recommends the use of the following underlayments: Bellawood Platinum, Bellawood Premium, ECO Silent Sound, Insulayment and Quiet Walk. These quality underlayments best support the locking joints and are highly recommended for use with condominium associations, project planners and building specifiers.

Can cork flooring be used in a kitchen without worry about the occasional spill or drip? Does this flooring need to be waxed or resealed periodically?

      A:

      2) ROUTINE MAINTENANCE and PROTECTION

      Do
      1. Sweep, dust, or vacuum the floor regularly with a recommended floor attachment (not a beater bar) to prevent accumulation of dirt and grit that can scratch or dull the floor finish. A more frequent dust-mopping or vacuuming schedule may be required in very sandy areas such as a beach home.
      2. Periodically clean the floor with manufacturers cleaning products or products made specifically for urethane finishes; never use oil soaps, detergents or wax.
      3. Use a damp cloth to blot up spills as soon as they happen.
      4. For tough spots, such as oil, paint, markers, ink, or tar, apply mineral spirits on a clean white cloth then wipe the area with a damp cloth to remove any residue.
      5. For spots such as candle wax or chewing gum, harden the spot with ice and then gently scrape with a plastic scraper, such as a credit card.
      6. Entry mats will help collect the dirt, sand, grit, oil, asphalt, or driveway sealer or pool chlorines that might otherwise be tracked onto your floor.
      7. Keep your pet's nails trimmed to prevent them from scratching your floor.
      8. UV sunlight will enhance the tone of different species of hardwood to varying degrees. Periodically rearranging your area rugs and furniture will allow the floor to antique or age evenly.
      9. Use a dolly when moving heavy furniture or appliances; use a piece plywood or Masonite to protect the floor. Never try to slide or roll heavy objects across the floor.
      10. Use floor protectors under desks and wide-load bearing rollers to minimize indentations and scratches from heavy objects such as office desk chairs. As a rule, the heavier the object, the wider the floor protector.
      11. Maintain a normal indoor relative humidity level between 35%-55% and temperatures of 60°-80° throughout the year to minimize the natural expansion and contraction of the wood.

      Do not
      1. Do not wash or wet mop the floor with soap, water, oil-soap detergent, or any other liquid cleaning material. This could cause swelling, warping, delamination, and joint-line separation, and void the warranty.
      2. Do not use steel wool, abrasive cleaners, or strong ammoniated or chlorinated type cleaners.
      3. Do not use any type of buffing or polishing machine, these can generate heat or hot spots.
      4. Do not use rubber, foam or plastic backed mats as they may discolor the flooring finish. To prevent slippage, use an approved rug underlayment.
      5. Avoid excessive exposure to water during periods of inclement weather.
      6. Do not walk on the floor with stiletto heels, shoes with sports cleats or exposed metal parts.
      7. Do not allow sharp, pointed, or rough textured objects to be exposed to the hardwood flooring.
      8. Lumber Liquidators does not endorse the use of steam cleaning machines on hard wood products, use at your own risk.
      9. Toys and tools can scratch the finishes, scratches and dents are jobsite related, not warrantable.

  • Q:

can the cork flooring be used in a bathroom floor?
Asked on 4/15/2015 by dd from pa

    1 answer

    • Staff Reviewer

      A:

Due to the excessive moisture present in a full bath we cannot recommend any of our solid, natural flooring or laminate products for this application, I would suggest one of our vinyl Tranquility products. We have a 2mm peel and stick and now a 3,4 or 5mm click together product that can go in full bath areas or where moisture is a concern. Thank you for your inquiry.

  • Q:

What is the LIGHTEST flooring to use? My instinct was CORK. I'm applying it to a Van/RV floor. Every pound matters [ MPG / weight ] I felt engineered was too heavy. Please help.
    thanks

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

Our flooring coverings are intended for indoor climate controlled rooms only. RV installation generally requires a specialized material which can deal with the extreme temperature and humidity shifts experienced in an RV. Suggestion; contact a coach or camper trailer manufacturer for recommendations.

  • Q:

What is the hardness value of this product or density of cork? Also what type of finish is used on this product and how many coats. Any other information regarding wear, scratching would be helpfull
Asked on 2/10/2015 by michael from Canada

    1 answer

    • Staff Reviewer

      A:

      The corks denisity is Floating: 762 kg/m3 (-10% / +13%)
Lisbon has a traditional UV cured matte (low gloss) finish with no VOC's (number of coats is proprietary).
Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage a wood floor's finish. Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factors that influence wear and durability.
      Thank you for your inquiry.

  • Q:

Can cabinets be installed on top of this product or does it need to be cut to fit around the cabinets?
Asked on 1/11/2015 by BigBuck from Sioux Falls, SD

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

All flooring should be installed AFTER cabinets are installed. This is because flooring needs to expand and contract freely (also makes future repairs easier) . Expansion gaps are needed around perimeter and around any fixed vertical obstructions (cabinets). Quarter Round molding or shoe molding is used to cover the expansion gap. Without the expansion gaps in place you can experience buckling of the flooring if it expands with cabinets fastened to it; essentially binding the flooring from normal movement due to temperature and humidity variances.
