Pros

  • Absolutly gorgeous
  • Beautiful to look at
  • Lots of compliments

Cons

  • Wish it cost less

Best Uses

  • Kitchen
  • Living Room

My friends had this floor installed and I just loved it so I had to do my house. Best move I made. It was either the floor or a Harley Davidson. I made the right choice and everyday I look down and say "wow, what a beautiful floor". I wish I did the whole house with it.

  • Q:

I did not see a better question type to ask my question so I put it here. Which wood filler (color) would you recommend for this flooring to fill in a small dent?

      A:

Wax filler sticks, stain markers and color-putty are now available at your local Lumber Liquidators used for minor hardwood repairs. This process is used to fill-in face-nails, nicks and gouges. Select the appropriate stick color to match the damaged area. Often several colors are used to blend colors for exotic species bring a scrap piece of the flooring to match it up. Thank you for your inquiry.

  • Q:

Is it possible to refinish this floor because of the real wood layer? I have had the floors for 3 years and between dogs, kids and furniture they are not in the best shape, a lot less durable than expected.
Asked on 6/3/2014 by Mike from Virginia Beach, VA

      A:

Full refinishing will take slightly under a 1/32” off the veneer of the wood flooring. The thickness of the veneer and how much wear and dents a floor has will determine how many times it can be refinished. Solid hardwood that is ¾” thick may be refinished 4 to 7 or more times depending on how much wood was taken off on each refinishing. Engineered flooring with a 1/8” wear layer or more will be able to be refinished at least once. We recommend that hardwood floor refinishing be done by a professional and if your not sure if you can refinish your flooring have professional sand and finish expert come to your home and evaluate your flooring. Thank you for your inquiry.

  • Q:

Would a high spot on a floor with this type of wood indicate the subfloor is uneven and hadn't been scraped or filled in appropriately to level the subfloor. What would be the effect of such an installation with traffic on it? We are considering a home purchase with this flaw in it.

Is this flooring approved by the FSC? We understand that Brazil has this tagged as an endangered species.

While FSC Certification is gaining in popularity, it is only one of many initiatives designed to promote ethical forest management/conservation. True FSC Certification requires supervision or custodial of product from seed to manufacture which some of our vendors participate in.
Lumber Liquidators offers flooring brands that practice responsible harvesting. People that make their living in timber know the importance of sustaining healthy forests. Without a well-planned growth cycle, they simply are out of business. Tree cutting is monitored very carefully within a selective cutting and replanting strategy. At Lumber Liquidators, we believe hardwood flooring is a natural, healthy choice—for both you and the environment. Thank you for your inquiry.

  • Q:

We are hearing lots of creaking and crackling after laying the flooring down. We did a lot of prep work, scraping and evening out the floor, and put an approved underlayment over the concrete sub floor. Is it just settling, or is this a condition that is likely going to last?
