- Durable & Renewable Flooring

- Beautiful Color Variation
- Easy Click Installation

Lisbon Cork Co. Ltd. Fine Cork Flooring combines the beauty of a natural material with the comfort of a cushioned surface.
It is durable, acoustical, and a great insulator.  The bark of the cork tree is peeled without destroying the tree and it grows back within nine years, ready to be harvested again.
Warm to the touch and resilient, cork floors are a joy to live with.
It is considered a green product because the same tree can be harvested numerous times.

"Our advertising isn't fancy, our stores aren't in the high rent district, but our flooring is some of the best in the industry at incredibly low prices." - Tom Sullivan (Lumber Liquidators' Founder & Chairman)

This is my second time using VanGough cork, and it is a very good product. I recommend using 2 coates of water based polyurethane after installation. My first installation is now 2 years old and looks the same as when installed in a meduim traffic area.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Van Gogh Cork:

I am a 66 yr old female and I laid my floor (approx 275 sf) by myself in about 4 hours. Of course I had to do it in a two-day period because I have a hard time being on my knees for longer than 2 hrs at a time, but I did it and it looks fantastic. I only wish the product had a more durable finish, as it scratches VERY easily. It is a very comfortable floor, however, and it does do a nice job of sound proofing, as well as moderating temperatures. Love it!

Comments about Lisbon Cork Van Gogh Cork:

This product was laid by a trusted professional in a hallway and 2 bedrooms. I was very dissapointed that in each carton there was a tile that had the imprint of the cardboard boxes' corrigation clearly visable. I thought it would be temporary, however the floor has been down for a week and finished with polyurethane and these ridges still show. The installer also noted that some of the tiles did not click together well, so several seams had to be filled.

I arranged for my wife to pick up the material as it was only 4 cartons of cork. The fellow who helped her was very nice, respectful and eliminated what's usually a stressful situation for her.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Van Gogh Cork:

I LOVE my cork floor. I saw it first at my Naturopath's office and walked on it with shoes and barefoot for several years and never saw any wear. It is soft, never really cold feeling and wears really well. I put it in all the bedrooms with area rugs, the hallway, great room and kitchen. I can't say good enough things about it but it is hard to install. Only negative.

                      A:

Our Lisbon cork floors are finished with seven coats of floor grade water-base urethane. After installation, it is recommended to re-seal the entire floor giving attention to the raw seam-edges to best protect against surface grit or moisture especially in areas having higher moisture levels such as bathrooms and kitchens. There are many good brands of floor grade water-based urethanes appropriate for corks, several are two-part mixes. A lamb’s wool applicator or wide paint brush works best for total surface coating. Rollers will tend to generate or trap "foamy" air bubbles into the finish. Normally sanding is not required in-between coats of water-base urethane within 48 hrs of application. However, if light sanding or abrading is required between cured coats, avoid steel wool as traces left behind can rust; use nylon sanding pads or very fine sandpaper. For the best application follow the labeling instructions from the sealer manufacturer.

This is a floating floor not gluedown. A 6 to 8 mil poly sheeting moisture barrier should be laid for floating floors for an On or Below Grade Concrete subfloor. Overlap seams 4" and tape with duct tape. Overlay perimeter 3-4" up wall. It is recommended that the rooms that will have wood installed be climate controlled with temperatures of 50 to 80 degrees F., preferably 65 to 75 degrees F. humidity of 35% to 55% maintained.

35% or under humidity may cause shrinkage and small gaps between joints. In addition as with any natural wood flooring you can expect fading.

Due to the excessive moisture present in a full bath we cannot recommend any of our natural flooring or laminate products for this application, I would suggest one of our vinyl Tranquility products. We have a 2mm peel and stick and now a 4mm click together product that can go in full bath areas or where moisture is a concern. Thank you for your inquiry.
