Quick Highlights: About Morning Star Bamboo: By harvesting only "old growth" bamboo, we are able to provide flooring with increased hardness, so it will better withstand the rigors of everyday life in your home. Our factory-applied SEVEN-LAYER TOP COAT FINISH includes two layers of tough, SCRATCH-RESISTANT aluminum oxide. About Bamboo: Bamboo floors' popularity has increased over the past few years as people have become more aware of the fragile state of the environment. Because it is a grass rather than a wood, it grows far more quickly than a tree. The plant's extensive root system continually grows underground and it replenishes itself naturally, as grass does. New growth, which springs out of the ground and can mature up to 24" in 24 hours and unlike trees, bamboo will regenerate quickly, making it a renewable resource. Carbonized Bamboo: Steamed bamboo, caramelizing the sugar within, to change its color. Our customers say... "I installed my vertical carbonized bamboo flooring from Lumber Liquidators. My wife and I love the way it looks. We have had a few small get togethers and everyone has thought it was a good choice..." - Kyle E., Visa, CA But, it's not just about getting the best floor in the neighborhood. Comments about Morning Star 5/8" x 3-3/4" Vertical Carbonized Bamboo:
I have been speaking with an entire craftsman's forum who are all horrified you're purportedly discontinuing this product. We all specifically require *vertical*, carbonized (also key), bamboo flooring, and Morning Star has become the "go to"!

Comments about Morning Star 5/8" x 3-3/4" Vertical Carbonized Bamboo:
We originally installed this on the first and second floors when we built the house four years ago. We lost the first floor to water during SANDY. We replaced the first floor floor with this again, Looks as good as it did the first time, we love the carbonized Bamboo.
Service and delivery comments:

Comments about Morning Star 5/8" x 3-3/4" Vertical Carbonized Bamboo:
Having used both the 15 year warrantied and 30 year warrantied bamboo from Morning Star, I would recommend the 30 year. The color variation is much less dramatic, the finish is nearly flawless, and there are almost no defects.

Comments about Morning Star 5/8" x 3-3/4" Vertical Carbonized Bamboo:
I used a professional installer. He was great - leveled at a very warped floor in the old part of my 1906/modern house. I haven't had it very long so I don't know how well it wears. Right now, however, I get compliments from everyone who sees it.

Comments about Morning Star 5/8" x 3-3/4" Vertical Carbonized Bamboo:
I had this floor installed in every room except the living room and bathrooms, and it looks gorgeous- much better in person than pictures can show. I've been living with it for about 2 months and it's very easy to care for. I'm a bit dismayed by the softness though. I purchased the mature bamboo since it was harder, but it does seem to dent easily. However, since it is solid flooring and not a laminate or a veneer the dents aren't terribly noticeable.
