R. L. Colston & Sons offers traditional 3/4" unfinished solid hardwood in a variety of species. 2-1/4" to 5" widths.

Besides Red Oak, White Oak is another extremely popular flooring choice in American homes.
The heartwood is a light brown color and some boards have a pinkish tint or a slight grayish cast. The sapwood is white to cream.
White Oak's grain is open, with longer rays than Red Oak and occasional swirls and burls.

What is "Rustic Grade"?
Rustic Grade has larger tight knots and the most color variation. Also referred to as #2 or Third grade. It is the perfect choice when character marks and contrasting appearance is desired.

Q:
I'm trying to find the cheapest way to put 3/4" floors in about 30 rental homes that I am building. I'm not too concerned about the finished product now but want to be able to refinish it in about 10 years so I can sell the home. Are the Colston unfinished floors sanded at all or are they rough cut? ....ie, can I install them and then poly without having to sand, or will that be too rough a finish for any use?
