Comments about 3/4" x 5" White Oak:
it turned out well though even with the overage of sq. footage, still came close to not having enough due to damaged and unusable boards

Q:Does this product have straight edges and ends?
A:There is a micro-bevel on all pre-finished flooring.
Q:What is the finish on this wood, glossy or satin?
A:BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 4" American Walnut ) The formula for the Bellawood finish is a custom mix that has a 50/50 gloss. The sheen you get is shinier than satin, but not as shiny as semi -gloss.
Q:I plan on installing American Walnut on my lower house level on a concrete slab. I plan on using a vapor barrier on the concrete floor then nailing stringers and inserting my insulation and sub floor heating in between the stringers. Then over the stringers I will be nailing plywood and then the flooring. Will the American Walnut be adequately protected and if I heat the floor gradually to reduce stress on the floor will it reduce warpage and cracks?
A:Thank you for writing in! I would be glad to help you with your questions.
Q:I'm interested in matching our "character grade" American walnut that includes knotholes and other imperfections. Does "natural grade" include a fair amount of such imperfections?
A:Yes our natural grade would have such characteristics and the rustic grade would have even more
Q:Can you install this over an existing oak hardwood floor with the grain going in the same direction? Do you need a vapor barrier between the old and the new? Best to glue or staple/cleat?
A:You will need to install the new floor perpendicular to the old or install a layer of 1/2" CDX plywood first.
Q:What is the length of the Bellawood American Walnut?
A:This solid 3/4" wood product comes in random lengths ranging from 1' to 7' lengths.
Q:This is my choice based on look and color, but not for hardness rating on scale, what would be the closest match to this look in hardwood but with a higher rating? Brazilian Walnut?
A:Yes I think this is the closest color match to American Walnut. Note* that Brazilian Walnut starts out quite vaigated in color but darkens (patina) over time to a rich medium to dark brown.
Q:I see width and thickness specs.....how long is each piece? Are they all the same length or random lengths? Thanks!
A:This solid walnut flooring comes in random lengths ranging from 1 to 7 foot in length.
Q:Can this be installed over slab on grade with glue? If so,:size trial, brand glue, tips, additional prep work (other than clean and vaccum floor prior to installation).
A:This is not a glure down product; but can be floated using our Elastilon underlayment.
Q:Does this flooring dent or scratch easily? We are thinking of putting it in our log cabin kitchen.
A:Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage a wood floor's finish. Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factor that influence wear.
