Q:
What is the country of origin? Where is it made?1 answer
A:
This is a product of China.Q:
Does your laminate flooring contain any formaldehyde or VOC's? Do you have non toxic glues? Do your floor underlayment's have any VOC's? Please lets us know if any of your products fit our needs.1 answer
A:
The adhesive that is used in bonding our Bamboo, Cork, Engineered, and Laminate flooring products contain very low amounts of Urea Formaldehyde. We feel that our products are very safe and most meet California CARB Phase I or California Phase II regulations, which is listed on the boxes. We also list MSDS sheets for most of these products on the Lumber Liquidators website “Flooring 101”.Q:
Is this suitable for below grade installations (basement)? How does it hold up to humidity?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Yes. Requires dry concrete and moisture barrier. A 6 mil poly sheeting moisture barrier should be laid for floating floors for an On or Below Grade Concrete subfloor. Overlap seams and tape with duct tape. Overlay perimeter 3-4" up wall. The indoor relative humidity should be 35-75%, with temperature of 60-85°F.Q:
Do I have to use the padding under this floor or can I install it as is?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
This product does not have attached padding. You can use 3mm Cork, Quiet Walk, or foam underlayment found here- http://www.lumberliquidators.com/catalog/thumbnail.jsp?categoryId=513§ionId=475&sort=TA&nonFlooring=1&subCategoryId=0&ref=By%20Category;274500024Q:
I have two dogs. Will the surfaces hold up vs paws constantly walking and/or running accross them1 answer
A:
Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage a wood floor's finish. Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factor that influence wear.Q:
How many different "style" of planks are there? The 6mm Utopia Maple only has ONE. Each plank in all of the boxes is exactly the same. However the 7mm Maple Planks (that I no longer see for sale) had more than FOUR styles. Since the pattern on each of the 4 styles was different, it was VERY easy to mix them up - resulting in a more realistic natural wood floor (each natural wood plank is unique). plmk how many "styles" per box. Thanks1 answer

The website shows St. James 12mm as having a 30 yr warranty, but St. James Stratton Mountain Maple shows 10 yr. warranty on product. In the store where I first saw it the display showed 30 yr warranty. Which one is correct?1 answer

we're thinking of installing this product in a bathroom. will it work in that enviroment?1 answer
A:
It really isn't recommended to install laminate or wood flooring in a full bath due to high amounts of humidity and water. We do not have any problems with installation in a half bath.Q:
When installing this flooring. What is the end gap between the wall and flooring? Also on acclumation. should the flooring be left, in or out of the box?1 answer
A:
The expansion gap for the Dream Home - St. James 12mm Stratton Mountain Maple Laminate is 1/2" around the whole perimeter of the floor and any fixed object. Acclimation should be for at least 2 days in the room the flooring will be installed. The planks should be left in the boxes for acclimation. I have almost the exact color on my laminate floors now, but each of my panels has a "two-column" pattern, as opposed to the more popular "three-column" patterns on most laminates (like on the Sugar Maple, 6mm, 6SG).1 answer
A:
I'm sorry but the 12MA St. James 12mm Stratton Mountain Maple Laminate does not have two columns or 3 columns on the plank face. It is one full piece with no columns on the face of the planks.
