Adjustment depth not as stated on intern

              By Rich

              from Bolingbrook, IL

I bought this tool to install 5/16" hardwood. The internet stated tool would adjust to 1/2" and below. Tool would not adjust down to 5/16" as needed. Also be aware that tools are not returnable , I was never told this, Since I ordered to be picked up in store I took it back to store and they allowed the return as I had picked it up just an before.

Great product for price. If using to install flooring I recommend knee pads cause all of the work will be done crawling. So far I have ran about 3000 staples through it and it has only jammed once. The staple jam was my fault as a result from shooting another staple. Takes a little practice but easy to learn and great instructions. Usually value products have little to no instructions. I like that it comes with the air fitting, tools and air tool oil.

Stapler worked great with 1-3/8 staples in hardwood/plywood sub floor, saved a ton of time.
The multi-tool is a must for cutting out staple heads that dont seat all the way in the tounge.Dont know how it will last in the long haul but it worked great for the 400 sq ft I installed!

This is a good tool, for the price. It doesn't jam often. The only drawbacks that I found is the fact that it's hard to get the depth adjustment just right and the safety was quick to push through the tongue of the plank. I had to wire the safety back to make good time with it.

Can this be used for finished hardwood at the begining of the laying of wood and at the end where a staple gun using a mallet can not reach because of the wall. We have been using drills and hammer and nails to nail into the wood and would like something stronger and that will complete the task faster to do this work.

                                        Not recommended for that use.

When nailing your first and last rows where a nailer won't fit because of the wall or cabinets, drill and hand nail as many boards as you can through the tongue at a 45 degree angle. When you don't have room for that pre-drill with 3mm bit (3/32") to prevent finish damage/cracking and face nail with 5d-8d galvanized, screw shank, ring shank or regular finish nails. Countersink with a nail punch and fill holes with a matching filler.

Also can either be used on 3/8" strand bamboo (the hard kind)and is one better than the other? How about using staples on the same flooring? Will this cause the bamboo to split? Thank you!!
