Colonial American homes were built with wooden floors that were sawn using basic hand-held tools. The hand-crafted workmanship that went into those floors can be found in Virginia Mill Works handscraped floors.
 
About Handscraped Flooring:
Handscraped or distressed hardwood floors have a natural worn appearance. They look like floors from the days when floors were finished by hand. This flooring, composed from Natural Hickory, is sculpted to accentuate the rustic character of natural hickory lumber.  It features a shallow and smooth rolling scrape that replicates a time worn floor. 
Please note this product is a nominal 3/4" thick, but due to its scraping process the thickness may be as thin as 5/8" in the scraped areas.

About Hickory:
This unique flooring species greatly separates itself from other wood species by its great color variation which begins from light tan to reddish/ dark brown tones with dramatic grain patterns.
Its rustic appearance, the combination of its hard density and moderate coarse open grain, make it just as appropriate in a contemporary high rise loft as it is in a log cabin.
It is also ideal for high traffic areas and kid's rooms.
