Everything I was told it was & more!

By Jim & Lori

from Marietta, Ohio

I am using this product on both my laminate floors. It cleans and shines so beautifully and I love the clean fresh smell. This was purchased from the Wheeling store. Damon & Justin know their products!!

Works great!

By Patty

from Nashville, Tennessee

Pros

  • Cleans Well
  • Doesn't streak
  • Need only small amount

Cons

  • Have to use tiny amts
  • Must buff dry any spill

Best Uses

I use a vacuum or dry dust mop to get up the debris first. Then, very, very sparingly use the Dream Home cleaner. Don't wet the floor very much at all or it might streak. Otherwise, it works beautifully cleaning without build up or streaking.

No. Laminate flooring can not be sealed with any product. This is the recommended cleaner for our laminate flooring.

BELLAWOOD Hardwood Floor Cleaner works very well. For general cleaning a swiffer type system works best. Not one that sprays the floor however. Lightly damp is fine but never soak or flood mop your floor. Do not use steam mops. Have a no shoes policy as much as possible. Use felt pads on all furniture. Sweep often.

    • Q:

How do you use it? Is it concentrated? Do you use a mop? I've used two different steam floor cleaners and it leaves streaks and I've also used one thing that makes it look dull and smudged.

I take it you can't go barefoot without smudging this floor.

I wish when I was in the store picking out what I wanted the sales person would have been more helpful. You should tell people that even though this darker wood is beautiful it shows everything. I believe if I had ordered what I had planned on ordering for years it wouldn't have shown as much as this does. I just want it to look as good as it did when they were finished installing it.

My son has laminate flooring in his living room which is shiny like my darker flooring and it never streaks or looks smudged and I've tried the same thing they use and it just doesn't work for me. I sure hope you can explain how your cleaner works and I'd also like to know the ingredients in it.

Our Bellawood floor cleaner does not contain any polishes ,wax or anything that will build on the surface and is recommended to be used on all our flooring products. I do hear of this scenario often enough and it always prooves out that there was another cleaning product used previously on the floor that is reacting to the Bellawood cleaner. Most likely once the residue is removed from the original factory finish the floor can be maintained easily.
Some maintenance products, such as oil soaps, are usually relatively easy to remove from the floor with a strong wood floor cleaner from a finish manufacturer. Others—a notorious one is Orange Glo—say they are recommended for wood floors but leave an acrylic or oily residue that sticks and smears on wood floors, actually attracting even more dirt.
Here’s something you can try! (Always test on scrap board or in an inconspicuous area first).
1.) Using the Ultimate Adhesive Remover towelette (or a mineral spirit dampened clean rag) and place on the spotted area, let stand for 10 minutes or so.
2.) Take an original Mr Clean Magic Eraser (This is a foam pad found in the cleaning section in most grocery stores). Use the foam side. Some have a scouring pad on 1-side that is too aggressive. Buff the area with the Magic Eraser in the long direction of the plank.
3.) Get a clean white cotton cloth and/or micro-fiber cloth, very lightly dampened with water, wipe off the residue you created.
        Sorry no guarantees.

        Thank you for your inquiry.

My employer has laminate flooring. She was told to use only water to clean. The housekeepers use a broom and then a sponge mop with water. After using the mop several times, it becomes dirty. Using the same mop over and over makes for NOT a clean floor. They have a baby, who will be crawling soon. Can this cleaner be used?

        Yes.
We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor. Thank you for your inquiry.

We just installed a brand new Laminate floor. Is there anything we need to do to protect the flooring before we place the furniture in the room?

        A:

Protect your laminate flooring to keep it looking like new:
        • Entry mats will help collect the dirt, sand, grit, and other substances such as oil, asphalt, or driveway sealer that might otherwise be tracked onto your floor.
        • To prevent slippage of area rugs, use an approved vinyl rug underlayment.
        • Use floor protectors and wide-load bearing leg bases/rollers to minimize t he chance of indentations and scratches from heavy objects. As a rule, the heavier the object, the wider the floor protector.
        • Maintain a normal indoor relative humidity level between 35% and 55% throughout the year to minimize the natural expansion and contraction of the wood.
        • Heating season (Dry under 20%): A humidifier is recommended to prevent excess shrinkage due to low humidity levels. Wood stove and electric heat tend to create very dry conditions.
        • Non heating season (Wet over 55%): An air conditioner, dehumidifier or periodically turning on your heating system can maintain humidity during the summer months. Avoid excessive exposure to water during periods of inclement weather.
        • Avoid excessive exposure to water during periods of inclement weather.
        • Keep your pets nails trimmed to prevent them from scratching your floor.
        • Never try to slide heavy objects across the floor.
        • A protective mat should be used for furniture or chairs with castors.
