the flooring pieces were all the same thickness. but the milling of the widths is uneven, making it difficult to get tight seams. our contractor had to go back and fill in gaps with putty.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 5" Natural Maple:
We installed the flooring in a Living/Dining room area. The width of the boards varied by up to an 1/8 of an inch. We took extra time to match widths in obvious areas, and used the odd sizes in less exposed parts of the room.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 5" Natural Maple:
Very disappointed with the quality of the product. The board widths and heights varied so much that we had to measure each one prior to installing. We doubled our install time because of the shaving and custom planing we had to do to make the floor look ok.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 5" Natural Maple:
This was my first attempt to install hardwood flooring, and this product (Select Maple 3/4" x 5") made it very easy. The boards were well packaged and fit together without any difficulty. We used it in combination with similar sized Brazilian Cherry and the results are dramatic. Two observations:(1)it is essential to have a good saw and a sharp blade (these are after all HARDWOODS)and (2) the assorted lengths were a bit of a challenge. Having standard sized boards would have prevented a lot of searching for one the size needed. However, that is a minor inconvenience.

In addition, the rooms should not be closed off from a normal air flow.
