THIS WAS A FIRST TIME INSTALLING FLOORING FOR US.IT WAS FUN,FRUSTATING AT TIMES,BUT WELL WORTH THE EFFORT.REALLY MAKES OUR TEAK FURNITURE POP.THE FOLKS IN OUR LOCAL STORE(EUGENE)WERE VERY HELPFULL IN ANSWERING ANY QUESTIONS.
The threshold piece was not an exact match to the flooring we chose but it came very close and looks good. The piece itself is of very good quality and has a beautiful stain and finish.
Floor is awesome. We have birch block paneling in the room where we installed the flooring and were concerned about chosing the right shade of wood. The Tabacco Road solved that for us. With the beautiful grain and color variations , it was a prefect choice. Our friends are very impressed with the look & quality of the flooring.
Service and delivery comments:
We live is a rural area about 1/2 between Houston and Dallas and chose to drive to the North Houston store as they were the closest with enough of the flooring for our project. The staff were very helpful and amazingly efficient. Thanks, fellers.

Q:
I am installing hardwood in my home and tile in my bathrooms. Will this work as a transition piece to the lower tile and how much height differential does it give me. I may need to float the tile and I would prefer using this because the tile is 1/2 inch thick and the wood floor and subfloor is 1 3/8 inch thick. Thanks for your help.1 answer

This should work for your application.Q:
I have purchased the threshold to transition from this engineered floor to another floor that is 1/4" inch thick and tile that is 3/4" inch thick. Do I need to make any modifications to the threshold?1 answer
A:
The drop down portion of this transition measures about 5/16" so you may need to fine tune it just a bit. The transition needs to be attached to the subfloor using nails or 100% urethane construction adhesive. Do not attach to the engineered flooring and be sure to leave 1/4 " expansion up to the leg of this trim.Q:
I am going to transition from 1/2" engineered hardwood to 3/8" tile. Will this transition smoothly? I see it says it is 5/8" thick which I understand to be the measurement from top to bottom on the front side. What is the measurement from the bottom to the first angled cut on the front side?1 answer

I am ready to install the threshold piece but it doesn't sit flat on the elastilon. It's probably 1/8 inch gap underneath the threshold piece when I set it on top of engineered flooring (that is installed on cement with elaston). How do I get it raised high enough to sit flush on the flooring?1 answer
A:
You will need to shim the space w/ some stock (paint stir sticks work great & there free)
