Comments about Casa de Colour 3/4" x 2-1/4" Spiced Hickory:
The flooring looks beautiful, and everyone who sees it loves it. We ordered a 2 1/4" planking, and found that it takes quite a while to nail in such narrow planks. However, the look is worth the time it took.
We purchased the hickory because it is advertised as 3 times stronger than oak, and we liked that.

Comments about Casa de Colour 3/4" x 2-1/4" Spiced Hickory:
This floor is a beautiful rich color that has far exceeded our expectations. Hard hickory requires a good saw blade and drill bits to install. We had a variety of board lengths from 12" to over 60" from 20 boxes, most about 4 ft and the color was unique on each board (reds, browns, goldens) We had very few (6-8) warped or damaged tongue boards and very little to scrap. So far it wears well against a bull mastiff, 2 cats, and 3 kids. Would recommend using felt pads on chair legs or the floor will dink...oops! Great value for solid hickory and the allergies are on the way out the door with that creepy carpet; cleaner home environment for this allergy/asthma sufferer!
Service and delivery comments:
Lumber liquidators has the best customer service; friendly, helpful and full of tips. They are willing to beat the competitor's price and provide you with the best quality. Very helpful people that made a price adjustment when our flooring went on sale 2 days after we picked it up, saving us lots of money. That's how you do business, customer is kept very happy!!

Comments about Casa de Colour 3/4" x 2-1/4" Spiced Hickory:
We had this floor installed by a professional, and he commented that there were very few boards that he couldn't use.
The floor has been in for a few weeks now and I love how durable it seems to be -- no scratches or dings despite pets, kids, etc.
Because this flooring is "mill run", there's a fair amount of variability between boards in grain and color, but I think it adds character to the floor.
Service and delivery comments:
The people at Lumber Liquidators couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. We ordered more flooring than needed, and they allowed us to return the excess without any hassles.

I did not install the floor myself, used lumber liquidators recommended installer so can not comment to how easy it was or was not to install. The floor looks beautiful -- great value for the price! Have only had for a couple weeks, so can not comment on durability, etc, but so far very pleased with the floor! Installed in kitchen, living room and dining room.

Comments about Casa de Colour 3/4" x 2-1/4" Spiced Hickory:
We installed this floor in our family room and hallway - 2 areas that get alot of traffic. So far, its been great - much easier to clean than our old carpet. The color matched our existing wood floor and stairs almost exactly, too. And the floor is much more durable than we thought.

Q:
If the finish of this hardwood floor is not as glossy as I prefer am i able to do several layers of a urethane (after installation) to obtain a high-gloss finish? Please advise.1 answer
A:
You could reseal prefinished flooring after it is installed, but this would void the finish warranty on the flooring and create extra expense for you after already buying a new floor with a 25 yr finish warranty. It is best to only add a new finish when the old finish starts to wear more than you like or if you have a lot of scratches you want covered up. We recommend that you use a professional sand and finish expert if you did decide to add a new finish to the flooring. Thank you for your inquiry.Q:
can this product be installed over a tile floor1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
If tile is flat and level you could use "Elastilon" as your installation system - www.lumberliquidators.com/ll/c/Self-Adhesive-Underlayment-Elastilon-ELASTILON107/10002503Q:
You mention that this product can be installed over "new" concrete slabs by first laying Elastilion Strong for a floating floor. Can it be laid over OLD concrete slabs also?1 answer
A:
Yes.Q:
will this floor hold up with a dog1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
I have a Bellawood floor which has a similar finish that holds up extremely well to our Hound Mix, Pit-Boxer, and another young mutt. Not to mention nieces, nephews, and work shoes. Excellent finish. It's not scratch free but no wood floor could be with these dogs. Harder floors like hickory ( 41% harder than Red Oak) or exotic floors will dent less easily. 3/4" hardwood can also be refinished several times. Light colors will hide scratches. Remember nothing is scratch proof but some do better than others. Laminate flooring is a low cost and durable alternative but can never be refinished.Q:

Does this wood fade in the sunny areas near a window or darken with age? Thanks!1 answer
A:
All wood species can change color over time due to oxidation or when exposed to light. In some species, the change can be more dramatic and may darken in color over time, while others tend to lighten. Currently there is no known value set for Patina or color change of a species so contractors and or customers should be aware of this normal condition. The patina process is unrelated to the urethane finishes. Thank you for your inquiry.Q:
