Comments about Lisbon Cork Van Gogh Cork:
This is my second time using VanGough cork, and it is a very good product. I recommend using 2 coates of water based polyurethane after installation. My first installation is now 2 years old and looks the same as when installed in a meduim traffic area.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Van Gogh Cork:
I am a 66 yr old female and I laid my floor (approx 275 sf) by myself in about 4 hours. Of course I had to do it in a two-day period because I have a hard time being on my knees for longer than 2 hrs at a time, but I did it and it looks fantastic. I only wish the product had a more durable finish, as it scratches VERY easily. It is a very comfortable floor, however, and it does do a nice job of sound proofing, as well as moderating temperatures. Love it!

I believe that this is the best product for me. I do a lot of cooking and am always standing. The Van Gogh cork flooring offers an ease on my knees. We had it installed by Lumber Liquidators and the guys did a great job and were in and out in no time.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Van Gogh Cork:
This product was laid by a trusted professional in a hallway and 2 bedrooms. I was very dissapointed that in each carton there was a tile that had the imprint of the cardboard boxes' corrigation clearly visable. I thought it would be temporary, however the floor has been down for a week and finished with polyurethane and these ridges still show. The installer also noted that some of the tiles did not click together well, so several seams had to be filled.

Easy installation.
Service and delivery comments:
I arranged for my wife to pick up the material as it was only 4 cartons of cork. The fellow who helped her was very nice, respectful and eliminated what's usually a stressful situation for her.
Thanks, Butch Zindel

Comments about Lisbon Cork Van Gogh Cork:
I LOVE my cork floor. I saw it first at my Naturopath's office and walked on it with shoes and barefoot for several years and never saw any wear. It is soft, never really cold feeling and wears really well. I put it in all the bedrooms with area rugs, the hallway, great room and kitchen. I can't say good enough things about it but it is hard to install. Only negative.

Q:
I just had this floor installed yesterday in the kitchen? How do you seal it and what are the benefits of sealing?1 answer
A:
You can find complete installation instructions on the product page by clicking on the specs tab and then clicking on - Installation Guide.pdf This will protect the unsealed joints.Q:
I just had this installed in the kitchen. What should I seal it with. The salesman did not have a clue and was not very helpful. What does the sealer do? And is it OK if I do not seal?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Our Lisbon cork floors are finished with seven coats of floor grade water-base urethane. After installation, it is recommended to re-seal the entire floor giving attention to the raw seam-edges to best protect against surface grit or moisture especially in areas having higher moisture levels such as bathrooms and kitchens. There are many good brands of floor grade water-based urethanes appropriate for corks, several are two-part mixes. A lamb’s wool applicator or wide paint brush works best for total surface coating. Rollers will tend to generate or trap "foamy" air bubbles into the finish. Normally sanding is not required in-between coats of water-base urethane within 48 hrs of application. However, if light sanding or abrading is required between cured coats, avoid steel wool as traces left behind can rust; use nylon sanding pads or very fine sandpaper. For the best application follow the labeling instructions from the sealer manufacturer.Q:
I have a dry but cold floor in the winter months can i use cork and will the glue hold up to the temp changes... also what is the best glue for this1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
This is a floating floor not gluedown. A 6 to 8 mil poly sheeting moisture barrier should be laid for floating floors for an On or Below Grade Concrete subfloor. Overlap seams 4" and tape with duct tape. Overlay perimeter 3-4" up wall. It is recommended that the rooms that will have wood installed be climate controlled with temperatures of 50 to 80 degrees F., preferably 65 to 75 degrees F. humidity of 35% to 55% maintained.Q:
Is this product locally manufactured? Where is the manufacturing headquartes?1 answer
A:
The cork itself is from Portugal, this is a product of China.Q:
what is the STC for this product?1 answer
A:
51-55 depending on total floor ceiling assembly.Q:
can cork be stained a darker color?1 answer
A:
I would recommend seeking advise from a sand stain and finish expert.Q:
We live in a dry area, humidity <20%. We also have a passive solar house. Is this product practical for our application - low humidity, direct winter sun? Can a radiant heat mat be installed underneath? Is this advisable?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
35% or under humidity may cause shrinkage and small gaps between joints. In addition as with any natural wood flooring you can expect fading.Q:
Can this be used on a basement (concrete) floor? What problems would be caused by dampness coming up through the floor?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Damp basements will harm most flooring with the possible exception of Floating Vinyl Plank.Q:
Is cork a good flooring to use in the bathroom, where it gets damp & humid?1 answer
A:
Due to the excessive moisture present in a full bath we cannot recommend any of our natural flooring or laminate products for this application, I would suggest one of our vinyl Tranquility products. We have a 2mm peel and stick and now a 4mm click together product that can go in full bath areas or where moisture is a concern. Thank you for your inquiry.Q:
How do you clean the cork flooring?1 answer
A:
We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor. Thank you for your inquiry.
