Everything is fantastic about this floor. My only complaint is that I took 2 boxes back to the store (left over)less than a week after purchase and the floor was $3.79 a sq ft. I paid $4.59. I mentioned it to the salesman and he asked if the floor was down already. I said yes. As a result I couldn't get a price match-that's $240 for 300 sq ft. I think I should have received the price match in less than a weeks time.

Overall I was happy with this flooring. There were a couple of pieces that were rough on the edges that could not be used. There were not enough long pieces as someone else notes in a reveiew of this product. When completed though, it was beautiful and we are happy with the end result.

We just finished installing about 750sf on our 1st floor in 3 rooms. We are DIY'ers and did it ourselves, after never having installed a hardwood floor before. We used the Norge 15 floor nailer with 2" cleats which worked great. The floor is solid and no bounce. The finish is a satin, not high gloss, which won't show as much dirt, wear & tear and isn't as slippery. The color is a medium brown varied between a golden oak and provincial oak. If you like an older style flooring, the wood has many characteristics and doesn't look bland. Out of 1000 sf ordered, we had very little (1 box) that couldn't be used. There are many different lengths and if you plan the layout ahead of time, you won't have many cuts. We used the Bellawood premium underlayment and there is a noticable difference in the sound, even after having carpet, the rooms have better acoustics. We have a large and very active doberman that hasn't put any dents or scratch marks in it yet and if ever there is, they can be easily covered with scratch repair. I was nervous after reading some of the other reviews of this floor in the different sizes, but am glad I bit the bullet. I wasn't looking for a perfect floor, I wanted one we could use, and this was it! We're moving on to doing the bedrooms next!

We had a professional flooring contractor put the flooring in all areas (except bath and laundry) of upper floor of our townhome.
We just love the color and the vintage feel of the wood. The warm brown stain on the flooring has helped to tone down the exsisting lighter yellowy woodwork and honey oak cabnets and doors.
Our contractor said that there was a absolutely no waste.
It has only been in for a week so haven't seen any negatives yet.

We used this in our living room and it is beautiful. However I really had to search for pieces that did not have splits in the tongue or parts of the groove completely broken off. I don't think that many of the pieces should have ever passed quality control. If my husband was not as handy as he is we would have run very short of product to finish the floor! He had to cut the bad wood off and then fabricate either the tongue or groove so the we could use the pieces. We had lots of unsalvagable scrap. Some of the pieces were just so rough that they would have snagged your socks or gave you a splinter in your feet!! I am very pleased with the finished product but disappointed in the quality.

I love the color and look of the flooring, but no one in sales told me there would be cracks in the flooring. When I called them they told me it is a 'vintage' flooring and to be expected. How would I know what that means? Not happy about that. I do perfer the non shinning flooring. Between the color and finish, it won't show the dust as much as the dark colors hand high gloss finishes you see today.
Just finished laying 256 sq ft. and it looks great. Picked this because of satin finish and semi-rough texture of wood. Satin finish does not show dust, dog hair and dirt as much as high gloss. Room has high traffic and I have two large dogs and they have not scratched it yet. I placed felt protector under all legs of furniture. While laying floor I even dropped my hammer on it a couple of times and floor did not dent. Floor is oak but finish used is very hard. Any scratches can easily be covered up with scratch cover and would look like it is part of the original flooring. Great medium brown color. Will be laying this floor in dining room and parlor next. There were some boards that are narrower but saved these and used them at the end to rip narrower planks to finish room. Due to the nature of the wood there are knots and many grain variations but that just added to the old world, antiqued look. Did have some boards with splits but used the good parts for the end of a row etc.. Besides a cleat nailer I purchased Skil 3600 floor saw to cut boards, rip lengths and even miter shoe molding- great tool.
