Comments about Dream Home 6mil Poly Sheeting:
While recommended for laminated floors that have pads attached, if I could do it all over would upgrade to a greater mil and would secure it to the floor. No one offered any recommendations in this area when we purchased.

Comments about Dream Home 6mil Poly Sheeting:
be careful when laying the laminate on the plastic because if you hit the plastic wrong, it will put a nice size hole in this plastic. It happened to me as i was laying out the flooring from different boxes for different design and i was setting it down and it caught the plastic and tore a hole it in. I just put a piece of good tape on it to cover the hole. But all in all, it did the job.

Comments about Dream Home 6mil Poly Sheeting:
The only problem with the sheeting is that it is so wide it is difficult to handle when the room is not completely square. It is very thick and will definitely protect the flooring.

Comments about Dream Home 6mil Poly Sheeting:
I think this should be used under all floors that go over concrete. The salesmen did not say it was required but I think it would really protect the underlayment from getting any moisture.

Comments about Dream Home 6mil Poly Sheeting:
Simple to roll out and tape together with duct tape. It also covers a lot of SF in one roll so it makes the process faster.
Only downside was the creases in the poly. Ours had creases when you roll it out and even pulling on it didn't completely flatten them out. It doesn't seem to have affected the final laminate flooring but it made the laminate install a bit more tricky in the places with creases.

Q:
When putting this vapor barrier down, do I tape this to the walls as well? Or do I just tape the joints?1 answer
A:
Do you have any installation instructions for this product? For best moisture protection, overlap seams 6-8”, tape seams well with duct tape or an aggressive plastic tape. Allow the vapor barrier to run up the walls 3-4”. The excess can be trimmed once the installation is complete.Q:
Does this have a moisture barrier built in as well.1 answer
A:
This is a true moisture barrier.Q:

Hi, can i use this product over an existing carpet? And then stick tanquility poly vinyl planks on top of it?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
No. Carpet would need to be removed and probably a layer of 1/4" luan plywood added to ensure a smooth surface for proper adhesion. Follow manufacturer recommends/instructions - http://www.lumberliquidators.com/assets/images/installation/tranquility_peel_and_stick.pdfQ:

This thin sheet plastic provides no sound protection.Q:

A:
It will depend on the substrate (wood or concrete).Q:
is this product a vapor barrier and padding1 answer
A:
This is a moisture barrier only (6 mils = .006 of an inch) no padding for support.Q:
I currently have Lauan plywood down as a sub-flooring in my trailer because the flooring was trashed when I pulled out the carpeting and I also had to patch a fairly sizable hole. Can I use only this on top of the lauan before putting down the laminate wood flooring or do I need another type of underlayment??1 answer
A:
Do not use this impermial moisture barrier over wood subfloors as it may trap or condense moisture.
