Comments about Bostik Bostik's Best Adhesive:

I installed 500sq/ft of solid oak over concrete surface with first putting down Bostiks MVP. Used the Bostiks Best adhesive and a 1/4" trowel. Application was messy at times but by using the Bostiks adhesive remover it made for an easy cleanup. A friend mentioned to use duct tape on the trowel everywhere but the notched edges to aid in cleanup. The install is rock solid and like walking on concrete. I'd use the product again in a heartbeat.

Comments about Bostik Bostik's Best Adhesive:

I used the product to adhere my new Bamboo Floor down. It worked very well and adheres very well. It is sticky and you have to be carefull getting it all over you when you get about the first half of the 5 gallon used. Use rubber gloves to keep it oof the skin. I wish there was a cleaner way of placing it.

Comments about Bostik Bostik's Best Adhesive:

I had trouble at first putting to much adhesive down, it was getting on the floor, and I was worried I wouldn't be able to get it off. I wished the store would have recommened the Bostik cleaner when I picked up the flooring and the adhesive, as I live an hour and a half away, and it was not convienant to drive all the way back. Someone else told me about the cleaner, who did not work at the store, but had put one of these floors down before.

Being a do it your self guy. I only have minamal time each evening. I feel that an optional 2 1/2 gallon easy seal plastic container would be of good use. I couldn't get the larger metal container two seal well after two or three used do to the lid bending.

Comments about Bostik Bostik's Best Adhesive:

This glue was great. It was easy to use and, in the end, our floor came out looking wonderful. BEWARE, though, it is horrible to get off of your hands and the finished floor. We bought a couple of glue removal sprays which say they will clean up glue even after it's cured. Not true! Please save yourself the heartache. Get the spray and clean up as you go. If I had it to do over, I would clean up a few rows at a time and then tape paper over them to keep them from accidental foot prints, drips, etc. They happen. Also, we learned after the first day, to wear latex gloves (change them often), long sleeves and pants. I had to scrub and scrub my hands to get them clean and had glue on my leg and arm for two weeks.

Comments about Bostik Bostik's Best Adhesive:

Though the adhesive is best to use on bamboo flooring it is not really reccomended for homeowner novices. Can be more work for them in handling and cleanup. For the pros this is what you want to use to ensure a superior install.

Comments about Bostik Bostik's Best Adhesive:

This product is the most powerful adhesive I have ever used. It is a permanent, moisture-proof, sound deadening (when troweled properly) adhesive membrane perfect for a myriad of applications. I installed 1000 sq.ft. of Braziliam Teak in my concrete slab on grade home. Initially, we intended to glue down the hardwood planks with the BBA; two starter rows and immediately knew this was NOT a good method at all. We had glue everywhere and the planks did not properly tongue and groove, as they do when you nail or staple. Once this glue has had time to set, it is extremely difficult to pull up. A full cure will deem it virtually impossible to remove, with exception of jack hammering the floor up.
I found it best to use the BBA to adhere 5/8 in plywood to the concrete to serve as a wood subfloor. Anyone working with a hardwood floor installation on a slab home may want to follow similarly the method I used. It will save you a lot of headache, backache and overall frustration as troweling this adhesive requires more strength and patience than your average tile and mortar job. Be prepared to spent an enormous amount of money as with a 1/4 inch recommended trowel, you will get the lowest amount of coverage per can. But remember, it urethane-based so it's moisture free..and it contains antimicrobial agents to combat any future issues with water penentration especially susceptible in concrete slab homes. The last thing you want to do is use an inferior adhesive to set your wood subfloor on concrete, only to have it rot out and ruin your hardwood install. This product is amazing and as an experienced contractor I recommend it for the purpose I described above and will most likely find many other uses.
