Worked perfectly.

For me, the gloves got in the way but get them and try them. I found I could work cleaner without the gloves so less glue got on the wood. If I got glue on my hands I would just wipe it off quickly with a rag.

You will want the gloves for some things (like removing the skin) so get them.

I didn't find that you had to wipe the mess as quickly as some mention. I would do 3 rows, then wipe with the messes with cleaner then use the soapy rag to remove the cleaner.

I bought the blue tape for taping the pieces but I didn't wind up using it. I just kept tapping the pieces back together as needed. But try it. It might work for you.

Also, instead of numbering the pieces, I just stacked them in order in separate rows. So the first piece I stacked would be the last piece that went back to it's spot.

I also found that I was able to apply the glue for three rows first, without it setting but try doing less first (as Joe mentions) and see how quick you are.

I did it by myself but it definitely would have been better with two people. It gets tedious alone.

Good luck.

Very Good Adhesive

Comments about Bostik Engineered Flooring Adhesive:

Although I did not use it myself, my brother who is a professional, used it to install bamboo in my bathroom. He was quite pleased with it and said having the adhesive remover made it easier to clean up any excess that would squeeze between boards. [...] Nailing the bamboo was not a workable option because HardieBacker Board was on the subfloor. I would recommend the adhesive, but having to pay for such a large quantity made my savings on the flooring disappear.

Comments about Bostik Engineered Flooring Adhesive:

I USED THE PRODUCT ON CONCRETE TO LAY THE BAMBOO FLOORING, IT WORKED GREAT. IF YOU ARE A DO IT YOURSELF PERSON, AND THIS IS YOUR FIRST TIME USING THIS TYPE OF ADHESIVE, BE AWARE AS YOU LAY THE FLOORING, THE GLUE HAS A TENDENCY TO SEPARATE THE HARDWOOD FLOORING, WHEN I SAY THAT, SMALL GAPS SO YOU WILL HAVE TO GO BACK AND ADJUST AND TIGHTEN THEM UP,SO KEEP THAT IN MIND. THE OTHER THING IS IF YOU CAN'T FINISH ALL IN ONE DAY, MAKE SURE THAT YOU GET THE EXCESS GLUE, SO IT DOESN'T DRY, MAKES IT HARDER THE NEXT DAY.

THE ONE THING THAT I DIDN'T LIKE ABOUT THE GLUE IS, THAT AT LEAST 3/4" OF THE TOP OF THE CAN WHEN FIRST OPENING IT UP IS ALREADY HARD FROM THE PROCESS, SOME WHAT OF A WASTE FROM MY PERSPECTIVE.

Great glue, but things you should know

None - Learn to use it

Comments about Bostik Engineered Flooring Adhesive:

1 - Get the Bostich remover, don't use mineral spirits.
2 - get glue spills as soon possible.
3 - Before using the remover, keep a pail of warm water and a soft rag and buff the floor clean of the remover after cleaning.
4 - Use very little of the remover, it goes a long way.
5 - Once you open the can, and remove the skin, you should use as much of the glue as possible. Once you close the can, a new skin will develope and it will thicken with each day that passes.
6 - if you have minor low spots in your floor, more glue will fill those minor voids. If you have larger areas, you will need to flatten the floor with a fast dry leveling patch.
7 - Buy a box of 100 latex gloves, you will need them as you use a razor to cut around the skin on the glue, then reach in and pick the skin off with your hands. Drop it on a large plastic garbage bag and toss it in the garbage. The goves come in handy, once you get glue on your goves, peel them off into the trash and put another clean pair on.
8 - One person can do the job, but two is better. lay out 3 or 4 rows of wood in a good pattern, then trace the edge of the boards to know where the glue stops. As you take the boards up, use a pencil to number them with row number, and board number. First board is 1-1, then 1-2, next row starts off as 2-1 and so on. Stack the rows upside down with the lowest numbered board on top. Stack of boards out of the way, but close.
Spread your glue, and start putting boards down as soon as possible, don't waste time, if a skin develops on your glue, you are screwed. If the skin delvelopes, you must use a putty knife and scoop it up and start again with fresh glue. I never had to do this step as I knew how mad I would have been. Don't spread the entire four rows at one time, this gives more time to work with fresh glue.
Don't let the glue remover sit on your wood finish for a long time, it wil harm the finish after many hours pass. Don't spill the remover on your cement. The glue wil not stick to the floor wherever you have a spill, even if you try to wipe it up.
The glue is easy to get out of the cracks, but be sure your boards are together as tight as possible. Getting glue in the seams will make the boards hard to squeeze together. When you do get the boards together, the glue will come out on top of the cracks. Don't worry about this. keep moving, being sure thta your boards stay aligned, and tight together. Once you get the boards down, clean, wipe clear of remover, let the surface dry from the damp wipe and apply blue tape in an X pattern accross your boards to keep them from slding around. You may sptep on the boards, but carefully, beig sure that the boards don't spread apart, even a little. Walking accross the boards, back and forth wil ensure that they are down and the glue wil even off and migrate to wherever it can go. This it to be sure that you boards are all down in the glue, and not high prone to hollow sounds when you step on them. You can knock with a knuckle to be sure you hear a solid sound as you work. It should sound as solid as the cement under it.
Once th glue dries it is a moisture barrier. This is not a substitute if you have a moisture problem, but is will prevent a dampness from wet times of the year from getting into your floor. Do a moisture test with 2 square feet of heavy platic taped all the way around on the floor. Leave it there for two days, then check for signs of moisture. Darkened cement, and a wet feeling on the plastic are dead give aways.
Good luck. My floors are beatiful and rich looking. I installed 750 SF of 4.75" Brazillian Cherry, 5/8 thick planks.
Last tip, if the glue dries, it is hard to get off of you, or anything else. A glue smudge on your wood can be cleaned off with the remover and a damp rag, even the next day. A smudge is a dull spot that does not have enough glue to look like glue. It's more like the glue that would transfer from your fingers.

Making it Stick
By KoffyVerified Purchaser from Ennis, Texas on 5/8/2008
Pros:
Goes Down and Stays down
Cons:
Hard to Clean
Best Uses:
Hardwood Floors
Describe Yourself:
Do-It-Yourself
Bottom Line:

Comments about Bostik Engineered Flooring Adhesive:

This is the really good for pre-engineered hardwoods. I had run out of this glue and went to the local hardware store and got a bucket of different stuff. Now I have a room where the floor puckers because it isn't stuck to the concrete.

I did some rooms in my house 1200sq. This glue works awesome. Goes down and gives you ample time before its too dry stick.

There is NO Forgiveness. If you are even a little messy, plan on as much time for cleaning tiny glue spots as installing the entire floor.

The best glue on the market
By EddieVerified Purchaser from Dallas, TX on 3/23/2008
Pros:
Easy To Install, The best adhesive
Best Uses:
Hardwood Floors
Describe Yourself:
Handyman
Bottom Line:

Comments about Bostik Engineered Flooring Adhesive:

Do not buy the glue at the local hardware stores. We used this glue on most of our project and ran out. I went to Home Depot to buy a little glue to finish the job and the wood came up immediately after install. This Glue is the best on the market and worth the cost. You can tell the differnce in this glue as soon as you trowl the first drop.
