We used this flooring in our sunroom. We were told that w/ sunlight, the color of the floor may darken a bit due to natural reactions w/i the wood. My husband and I agreed that a natural color flooring should have a little character here and there and think it is a great choice.

My 1 y.o. son has many toys in the sunroom, which he is constantly throwing or dropping and I haven't seen a scratch yet. I would highly recommend a rubber backing for any rugs you lay down over it, though. Otherwise, it could prove quite tragic when you're picking yourself up off the floor after it slips out from under you!!

While care of the floor is easy, I do find that I'm constantly having to sweep over it. Trash, sand or dust bunnies seem to just appear from nowhere. I'm thankful we did not choose a dark color, or it would be even worse.

Overall, I would highly recommend this flooring to others. It's only been down for a couple of months, but so far, so good :)

First of all I must say I was a little hesitant about putting a wood flooring system in my master bathroom. Eventually I decided to say "what the heck" and go for it. The bamboo floor has been installed in the bathroom now for several months and so far has held up very nicely. Like other reviews of this product, it does scratch fairly easy and is prone to receive a few dents along the way. With that being said as the only two negatives with this floor, the positives are extremely nice. The finish on this floor is extremely nice and the overall fit of the product was top quality. The installation of the floor was a little tricky at first but with the use of a pneumatic nail gun to secure the first row through the top of the boards and nailing through the tongues on the rest of them, it went fairly smooth. I'm sure there will have to be some neccesary precautions taken when installing this floor in a bathroom, but if you wipe up any spills once they hit the floor it should last a long time.

I purchased this flooring to be installed in the entirety of my house, with the exception of the kitchen or the bathroom. The flooring it pretty easy to install, considering we used the Elastilon underlayment to put it down. We had to be careful, and think about our cuts, but in the end i would say that this was not terribly difficult to install. The finish on it has been holding up pretty well, as it has been installed now for about 5 months, and we have been doing a HUGE remodel project. There seemed to be a good amount of blemishes on the bamboo, but then again it would be expected to a degree with a natural product such as this. So strategically placing the blemished boards and such, the floor looks absolutely fantastic now. I might add, that it has a beautiful sweet smell... one that i would liken similar to sugar cane. I would purchase this again in a heart beat.

This is rated to be harder that red oak, but all you need to do is breath on it to scratch is. I don't even have all of it installed and it is badly scratched. I'm not sure I am going to install all of it as planned.

We had this floor professionally installed in the master bedroom. It looks absolutely beautiful! There are already a few scratches on it, but they are really not noticable unless you know they are there. I don't think I would recommend this for a high traffic area such as a living room, but for the bedroom it is ideal. This floor meets an older oak floor at the threshold and it blends quite nicely.

Beautiful! Installed easily using floor nailer. However, recommend pre-drilling and finish nailing to install the last peices. Product tends to split easily. This is particularly true for threshholds and T-moldings.

Finish is magnificent but is so smooth that small sctaches and dents stand out.

My husband and I love our new bamboo floors, very attractive, looks great with our medium oak woodwork, room looks larger, airier and cleaner than our carpet. Our small dog's nails have not made any marks on floor. I do a quick sweep and mop with recommended spray that comes with the cleaning kit---No More Carpet Shampoo! Definitely install the furniture pads on all furniture to prevent any scratches on floor.

Most hardwood flooring nailers are designed for 3/4" hardwood. These standard nailers can be used for 5/8 bamboo floors, but the nailer must be "padded" 1/8" to allow for the correct nailing angle. While this can be done it greatly increases the installation time.

This was our first time installing solid hardwood flooring. My husband watched a video at Handyman Magazine that was very helpful in describing the process and giving some hints for easier installation. After we got over the learning curve, things went pretty quickly, and the finished result looks like professionals installed this floor. It took us about 20 hours to insall 400 sf. The color and variations board-to-board look particularly attractive (even better than I expected). The only negative I would mention is that is seemed to us that certain boxes of flooring contained a higher number of imperfect or reworked pieces, while some boxes were almost perfect from top to bottom.

We installed this flooring throughout our 2nd floor. It looks gorgeous - everyone who sees it loves it. More distninctive than oak and similar price. Beware of glue smell, however. My eyes were severely irritated and it took 2 trips to optomitrist to remedy. Went away after a week or so, but if at all possible, open the windows and doors during and after install.

This is the 4th home that I have installed the Morning Star in over the past 2 years. I have installed it in my home first. Then everyone that saw it loved it. The only issue that I had was , we had a area covered by a rug and the wood will change colors. They failed to tell me that at the time of purchase. NO RUGS FOR A MONTH.

My husband installed this(about 620 sq ft) in a weekend with some help from my dad and brother-in-law. It looks beautiful. It's very durable, even though it may scratch depending on weight, you have to look for them. With the bamboo being the same color all through the wood. We have three dogs and 2 children and it takes alot and still looks beautiful!

We actually used this product in a breezeway as a finished hardwood wall. The product gives a very beautiful carribean feel to any area and because this product will be under roof but still subject to humidity I wanted to check how it maintains intregity with water. I put a plank of flooring in a sink and let it sit in water for a day then let it dry out...... no splitting or twisting. Used in a breezway on a wall may be a unconventional use but it is beautiful. The product does scratch easily but can be repaired easily.

We installed the bamboo in our family rm., foyer and 1/2 bath about 2 years ago. We loved the look and feel of it but it did scratch easily. We are doing more updates in our home now and decided to do the liv. rm and dining rm. and master bath also. We love how it came out. Keep your dogs nails short and add area rugs where you can.

This is not for the novice. One needs some experience in putting flooring down on the floor. I put this product on a concrete slab and had to glue it down. Not fin!!!! I would recommend gluing a plywood floor down and nailing the floor to it.

Scratched by dogs nails within days of installation. Cracked within six months. Had to replace within two years. Should not be used where there is low humidity in the air. Lumber Liquidators paid me back for the cost of the wood after an independent inspection.

I wish I could say better things. It does look nice but the finish scratches with hardly any effort. My 6 year old barely moved an ottoman on it and now there are marks. My dog walks on it and it marks up. I will keep the floor in for a few years but sadly believe it will need replaced before too long. Thank goodness for area rugs.

We glued the wood to our concrete floors. The only issue we had was that it would slip after being pressed into the glue, and we started getting gaps between the wood. In order to fix this, we used bar clamps and held the wood in place over night until we could get back to work in the morning. This solved that problem beautifully, but when doing this, please be careful not to dent your wall. We now have a few places to patch. We also used wooden spacers (aka shims) between the wall and the wood to help with gaps. These were absolutely necessary so I recommend you buy several dozen of those. The bamboo looks amazing, it's beautiful and really makes a statement. If you don't know what you are doing, please hire someone. The wood is too beautiful to waste with bad craftsmanship. It's durable, doesn't scratch easy, and looks fantastic. I do recommend when cutting the wood to use a very accurate saw because we had a few problems with the wood chipping on the end where we cut it. It is something you have to be very precise and careful with.

I've used Carbonized bamboo in two of my three bedrooms so far, and will use it again in my third eventually. The Bamboo is incredibly straight, and stable which makes it a dream to work with. The flush fit floor registers match perfectly, and make for a beautiful finish along with matching quarter-round moldings. I Love this product and recommend it.

The great thing about this floor is its durability and resistance to water.......we had a major flood a few months ago, and over 2" of water laid on this floor for over 8 hrs before we returned home.....i honestly thought this floor was a gonna....we swept all the water out, removed baseboards, turned on the AC and kept fans in the area for about 3 days.....the ends of the planks took the longest to dry out, but after about 3 weeks, everything was 99% back to normal....there is a very very slight curve on the planks now, but considering the water this floor was subjected to, i would say, thats pretty remarkable......i would almost say its added character.......Off course, i do not recommed getting any lumber floor wet, but if disaster happens, this floor can certainly withstand it.

Great Floor[...] my Wife and I love the finished product. It took me about 8 hrs to lay 600sqft. I had never done this type of floor before. I used glue and it gets every where. For anyone thinking of using glue, spread the glue thin first (enough for about 4-5 rows) and let stand for a 15 minutes. This will help hold the boards in place. Use masking tape to help secure the planks aswell. After about 2hrs or drying, go back over each piece and make sure no planks have moved. after you finish laying, use a glue cleaner that Lumber liquidators sells to wipe off the film that is left.

We decided on the carbonized bamboo because we have kids and pets who have already scratched the newly installed family room floor. The good news is the bamboo is the same color all the way through the wood so the scratches are not very noticeable. Once you get the first row down straight, the rest of the floor is relatively easy to install as long as you rent the right tools.

I installed these floors in my kitchen and living room. Very water resistant and anti-bacterial! Beware homes with dogs... the clear finish does scratch easily and is hard to cover up. Otherwise the best money spent on my home!!!

We replaced carpet with bamboo in the first floor of our condo. It's been one month and we're very pleased with the results. The floor is beautiful on it's own, but was not very scratch resistant when put to the test. As with any remodel, a few dings, dents and scratches are expected as things get shifted around. We wanted this floor to stand up to more that it actually did. Just about every little thing scratched it. We're hoping a scratch filling floor polish will do the trick.

We were under the impression that Bamboo was a very durable floor, but so far we are not impressed with it's durability. The bamboo flooring is beautiful. We had it installed by a professional, not associated with Lumber Liquidators, and he was very impressed with the quality. That made me feel good because he deals with flooring all day, every day. Our flooring is replacement for carpeting and is in our bedroom and closet, second floor landing, and an office. We are still in renovation, so I haven't put it through all the paces of daily living yet, but it is standing up to the carpenters and painters with no problems.

I bought enough for my whole house, so I ended up with two lots. The tongues and grooves were at different heights because of the two lot numbers. The floor looks good, the color is good, but it dents and scratches very easily compared to an engineered or solid plank oak floor. I have laid multiple engineered floors and used to be a trim carpenter, and this floor was a bear to install. I recently moved my new, empty, refrigerator, which is on wheels and it left ruts in the floor.

I purchased this flooring for a house that I am renovating and hired a pro to install. He did a great job, (he was recommended by Lumber Liquidators). The installer picked up the material and did installation while I was away. When I saw the finished job I loved the color and grain but noticed small "dots" where the finish was missing. Some looked like small bubbles and when you touched them the varnish lifted off. In my 750 sq. ft. of flooring, I probably have 8 places the size of a nickel missing the finish. Being a perfectionist it drives me crazy. My installer is going to apply varnish and hopefully they'll blend in. I bought first quality flooring, not a close out. So...beware.

Chose this product because of the 30 year warranty and the price. The color is exactly as shown in the image. Initially it wasn't exactly the color we wanted but in the end it does look nice in our living room. We got some professional installation help, and the crew noted that the tongues and grooves were cut great and all boards were straight with no waste. Additionally they said that this is the nicest bamboo they have ever seen, and they have known people who have put down bamboo floors for $11/sqft.

This product installed easily. The uniform lengths and the wide width of the planks allowed quick installation. It took me a total of about 8 hours to install 144 square feet by myself with one closet protrusion. Unlike the oak flooring I installed in a previous house, all of these planks were straight and not warped. I tested this product before I bought it to see how easily it dented. It dented the same as the Oak flooring on my ground floor, but cost less and is environmentally friendly. After this instatllation, my wife and I are planning on installing this bamboo flooring on the entire 2nd floor.

Our main considerations in purchasing this flooring was that is was "green" friendly, looked good, and price point. The staff at LL were very friendly and accommodating. The flooring was installed without too much of a problem in a kitchen (removed existing maple)& adjoining dining room (removed carpeting) by a flooring contractor. The surface nail holes could not be covered satisfactorily and the floor is much softer than originally imagined. As much as I would love to recommend I cannot. Too soft.

He had a little trouble starting the floor but once he got going, it was smooth sailing. He would use the piece he cut to start the next row so it was all staggered. The only thing we don't like is it dents very easily but it is forgiving in that with the grain of the bamboo you can't really see the dents too much.

We put this Bamboo in a bedroom and it was contrasted with green and maroon painted walls. The room looked great when finished. This flooring went down very easy.

Used a finish nailer with 2" nails, instead of a floor nailer and it worked great, much easier as well

A rather soft wood, best in a low traffic area, eg. dinning room. This is a good looking product, and we would buy this again for specific areas.

I just had these installed professionally a few weeks ago... so I cannot comment on the durability. The floors are absolutely gorgeous. The bamboo provides a very warm look to the room. You cannot beat the price... and the quality does not seem to lack. Time will tell on how well it ages / wears.

We put down our bamboo floors 4 years ago, and they still look great. They are easy to clean and have endured a lot. We originally selected bamboo for the sustainability of the product; however, when we went and looked at all the different varieties of flooring available, we liked bamboo best for appearance, as well. I highly suggest you look into bamboo.

We used this bamboo on our main level for the formal dining area and main family room and it is stunning. The quality is great and we receive many compliments. Add to that the durabilty, the environmentally friendly quality of the product, and the beautiful appearance and one cannot go wrong with this product. It gives hardwood a run for its money.

This is a great product for the price. We put it throughout our entire house, minus the kitchen and bathrooms. We did not use glue, but nailed each piece. This took a long time and could be rather frustrating, however, it is done right and we don't need to worry about warping. If someone is flipping a house, glue it, as reviews show that works well too. We were searching for a product that would resist our labs nails. The floor does scratch, but it is more like a dent from the nails. If small stones are tracked into the house the finish scratches very easily. I would still recommend this rather "green" product to all.

The Morning Star Bamboo flooring is high quality and you just can't beat the price. Everyone says our floor looks perfect. The coloring is great! It was easily glued down onto our concrete slab. We installed it ourselves over 6 months ago and have had no problems at all. Absolutely love it!!
