We have installed this throughout our home in every area but the powder rooms. After more than 1 year of use, we could not be happier. It is real wood, so it will scratch and dent if you drop something heavy, but you can see from the photos that it is gorgeous. I have three young kids, so this takes a beating! Totally satisfied!

I went in looking at engineered flooring and laminates, but went with this as it was the price of cheap carpet and far more elegant and practical. It has a rock hard finish on it that so far is super hard to damage. It fits together cleanly, mine installed with about 1% waste. Even with the air stapler it's always a bit more physically taxing to install than I remember when I buy wood flooring. BUT it's nice to have a structural floor as opposed to a wood veneer rug aka floating laminates.

I can't say enough good things about it, can't understand all the whiny people who though this scratches easily.

Bamboo is easy to install. I used a glue-down method to replace carpet in living and dining areas. Will be extending it through a couple bedrooms at least. It does splinter a bit at cut edges, but other than that no issues with installation.

This floor is amazing, especially for the price. I love the eco-friendly nature of this product AND the modern-bamboo look of it. It does scratch a bit, but this is only the 15 yr. warranty, and I just figure that it adds character :). We have also installed some 30 yr. bamboo, and we and our dog have yet to be able to scratch that one.
We paired it with some limestone mosaic bands around the edge of the room, and now my living room reminds me of a tropical resort.

I have used the natural and the carbonized for my house. The color on the website really doesn't do it justice. The range of tans and browns is beautiful. It has the variation that I have only seen in clear finished Walnut. If you use this floor, do yourself a favor and spring for the Elastilon. It is expensive, but worth every penny. Two people, 450sqft, three hours, Great results.

Overall, this is a good value for DIY'ers. Offers a great finish for less than the price of low-end carpet. You will need basic knowledge of woodworking and proper tools such as a table saw, mitre saw, hand saw. In my case I also needed a flush saw for bringing up the trim around doorways. I used a 2" brad nailer for attachments near walls, and 2" hardened finish nails for all face nailing. (you'll also want to pre-drill your holes when face nailing; this is hardwood and it will split if you dont)

I was spoiled buying the Morning Star brand for my bedrooms. It has uniform color and is much sturdier. Went with Supreme for the living room due to the price. Color varies from very light to almost black -- all in the same box. But by throwing away 15%, I was able to make it look good. But... despite felt pads on my furniture, there are dent marks in the floor where the sofa legs are, where I moved the refrigerator back, where a chair leg was. This stuff is way too soft. It already looks bad in 2 months. I shudder to think how it will look when I'm ready to sell the house.

I was a bit skeptical at first about buying this product. I am convinced now it was a good decision. The flooring is very nice. The color and finish are great. I'm not sure if installation is beginners work. This is due to the upfront costs of a compressor and nail guns. Additionally, there is some knowledge that comes from putting down a floor before that makes it all work properly.

Now, it does scratch easy. I'm not sure what flooring doesn't scratch when a dog claws it or someone drops a sharp object directly on it. For the money, it is worth the risk. I found that some of the boards out of the box were a little warped. This required some elbow-grease to staple them in properly. I can't say about durability, because I just installed it. It is solid (wood) so I do think it will hold up great. I'm going to buy some more for my downstairs. For half the cost of hardwood, it makes all the sense in the world.

Retailer said to open up the packages so it can acclimate to the house, which sounds good but won't make a difference unless you have humidity control. My home is more humid in the winter and less in the summer from the a/c pulling the moisture out. So the floor will expand and contract a little, but not horrible. For a tight budget, I highly recommend this flooring!

We installed this in our entire house, and LOVE IT! We've had it down for 9 months, and it's perfect for all areas - even high traffic. It does scratch, but that's the nature of wood flooring. We glued it to a slab on grade, and it's wearing beautifully. The color is gorgeous! Would definitely purchase again!

Since all the planks are the same length, the beginner should be advised to cut starter boards at various lengths to achieve random pattern! The recommended glue has an extremely long open time and the use of blue painters masking tape to hold the boards in place is also recommended.

It looks good and the finish seams decent, the wood scratches and dents easily I have two small kids and they are not gentle with the floor. I have had the floor installed for a couple of weeks and I can see a few scratches already. I would only recommend it if you can't afford better.

We love the look of this Bamboo. We had 2 rooms installed by a professional and when the price dropped 50 cents per square foot we decided to do it ourselves and lay it in 3 more bedrooms and a hallway, almost 1000 sq. ft. It was easy to install and looks great. It will scratch easier than red oak hardwood so we placed felt on the bottoms of chairs and heavier furniture.

Had a floor installer lay the master bedroom and guest bedroom. The carbonized went on sale 3 weeks later so we decided to do a bathroom, hallway and 3 more bedrooms/rec room. It is very easy to install. The wood is easy to work with and cuts nicely with a miter saw or circular saw with 140 tooth fine cut blade. Our family pitched in and are enjoying laying the floor ourselves. We used Carbonized horizontal bamboo with a natural bamboo border 2 board wide around 3 of the rooms. The hallway is a mix of natural and carbonized. It looks great. The only downside is it scratches easily and dents. Be careful moving heavy furniture. We put felt pads under all of the furniture.

I installed the bamboo floor in a fairly large living room, kitchen, dining area. I like the balance of grain pattern so that it is neither too bland nor too busy. It takes a while to get used to the joints - somewhat like wood with acne - but wooden furniture contrasts nicely. On the other hand, I am disappointed with the finish. The satin sheen is less shiny than many of the wood floor materials I looked at (a positive feature). However, it is not very forgiving. Every dog print and hair shows up. This floor will require a lot of regular cleaning. In addition, the floor scratches easily and dents easily - for instance when you drop a screwdriver handle.

Installed in my walk-in closet and bathroom. Have no children and always careful to not have standing water. So far so good with the moisture. In both the walk-in and bath I'm finding scratches in the floor which is unfortunate. Luckily with the color they don't stand out and you need to look to see them. Mostly am noticing them when I clean the floor. Overall a nice product but if I did the project again I'd use a bamboo with a higher hardness rating.

This flooring was really simple to install, and the padding used for under the flooring made a world of difference in regards to how quiet the room is when you walk over the bamboo flooring.I've had it now for about a month and I haven't had any issues yet in regards to scratching. I did however notice once when I left the air hose for the air compressor layed out on the floor for a few days with the sun blaring down on it that it left an outline of the hose ON THE FLOOR. But, after removing the hose and waiting a couple of days resolved the issue.I ended up buying a nail gun from [...] for $120 on sale and bought Boch 2 inch Nails and had ZERO issues. The room is 12 x 18 ft.My friends and family and my self are VERY pleased with this flooring. The finish is flawless and just overall looks fantastic. No disappointments.

Over all a good product. Only a few minor flaws. There was more color variation than expected. Some boards were much darker while others were much lighter. This is a great product for people who want the beauty and cleanliness of wood versus carpet but are on a limited budget. It is also extremely environmentally friendly. It is easy to install; we did it in a day.

It took about 1 and 1/2 months to complete, as you can see from the pictures we put a double boarder around the room and an inlaid diamond in the middle. I also used the flooring as mop board and toe kick. I riped it down and used a round over router bit. alot of work but well worth it. I had painted pine door trim, when I stripped it i found out it was done with finger joints and varigated colors of pine. I finshed it taht way and put contrasting corner blooks in on the top and bottom, I beleive it turned out fantastic. The Bamboo is easy to work with, in all the ripping I hardley found any voids. Only little problem is it will sure gum up a saw blade.

I'd never used bamboo before but it was really nice! It matched my golden pecan woodwork well. Installation was straight forward. The only hitch is I recomend using a brand new blade and be mindful to cut at a slower pace. It may even be better to cut the wood face down to stop the little bit of splintering it may tend to do. All things concidered I'm definately using more in my house!

We love the look of the bamboo floors...they are just as attractive as the more expensive hardwoods we have upstairs. We glued these to a concrete floor in our den. If you do use glue to install, be sure to clean up any glue you get on the floor ASAP. It takes adhesive remover and some elbow grease if you let it sit for a day or two.

My husband and I installed this on our own and it was very easy. We did a floating floor using elastilon as the adhesive. The elastilon was a little pricey but worth it. We read the reviews about this floor being easy to scratch so we put felt padding on all of our furniture and so far we havent had any scratches. We love the look and are very happy with the results.

The Bamboo flooring I purchased is beautiful and easy to installed. I has enhanced my living space and I plan to extend it to my kitchen at a later date.

We did the whole kitchen & dining room area in bamboo and, although the jury is still out on its durability, it looks beautiful and I am thankful we did not settle for a a laminate. There was only one board in 19 boxes that was not a good match (too light). My retired husband did this whole area but I will do the upstairs hallway (under his guidance) because he said it was easy to install.

My husband and I were able to install 300 feet in 2 full days. We have never put down a floor so it was a new experience but it went smoothly and was not difficult. Also after reading reviews we knew to be careful not scratch it and put felt on all our furniture legs and it seems to be doing well so far. We love our new bamboo flooring. My main concern was that bamboo would scratch too easily. I read all the reviews and that was the only con I found. Yes it can scratch but it's more durable than I expected. I would not use this floor if you have a dog. We have 2 small children and we haven't found any problems. We used this product in our entryway, livingroom/dinningroom & kitchen. We love the way this floor looks and 5 months later we still are over-the-moon happy with our purchase. We ended up having it professional installed because it was too big of a job for my not so handy hubby, and we're glad we did. Our installer did a magnificent job.

It was very easy to work with and was put down in one day. The wood seams to be soft and dents or scratches easily. I live an hour away from the nearest store and when we were 80% complete we noticed that one box was lighter in color than the rest. We just pulled up some of the boards and placed the lighter boards under the bed rather than going back to the store to replace the box.

My husband is retired and installed a little every day. (We did the dining room and eat in kitchen so table and hutch and stove and fridge all had to be moved as he got to each area.)We waited until after the holidays and it was fun seeing the progress everyday when I got home. One day a couple boards he had on a table fell on the floor and left dings. I took some light oak stain and they aren't even noticeable. My first time installing stapled flooring. It is almost as easy as the floating flooring that I installed.
I wouldn't like to have done this as my first floor. Mistakes are hard to take up. Planning is key.
Three to five boards in 15 packages have crooked ends creating gaps. If you don't catch them before staples you can easily damage other boards removing the bad one. Sawing it out destroys the board.

I'm a home remodeling contractor, therefore I have used many different types of flooring including many types of wood products. The largest problem I find with many products out there is inconsistancy in the product, mostly with sizing. Which is especially difficult for diy installers to deal with. However this product was amazingly consistant considering the lower cost of the product. I would recommend this product for anyone and will most definetly be using it again for my customers.

We had carpeting in our foyer, living room and hall. We decided to take out old oak floors that was under the carpeting over refinishing them. We have some of the original old oak flooring in the house. And, we like the color varations of the bamboo over the oak. And, the new look it has given to our house is great. We would use it again.

Product looks great. We already found 2 scratches and have not even finished installing it so I guess the installer dropped something (not a Lumber Liq. installer, I hired my own). But I had quotes from family members who do flooring and they were way higher. I got a good price and I think a superior product (carbonized bamboo) from what I could get from my own cousin! I was told that LL only carries leftover/damaged pieces. That is not the case! I am very pleased with my purchase.

Easy to repair. If you get a deep scratch, just lightly sand it and then apply 2 coats of polyeurothane, good as new.

Make sure you work out of 3 boxes at once as the color variation is substantial, but if you mix it up good, it looks great.

Also seems to be good against staining from dog accidents, although their nails can scratch it pretty good (you can only see the scratches in certain light though as it looks more like it dent in the finish).

I have it nailed down in my bedrooms and glued down in my living, family & dining room, seems to work well everywhere giving my home a nice consistent look.

This is a beautiful floor. I wish that I had put this floor in my living room and hall instead of the Cherry laminate that I had installed. I installed this floor in my daughter's bedroom and I could not be happier. It was easy to install and I had never installed any flooring before. Had to go to a shorter nail than the standard 2" due to putting it over a hardwood floor installed in the 1950's. Used 1-3/16". Floor went down smoothly and like the bamboo look.

My husband and I installed this ourselves in the living room and dining room. It was pretty easy to install, and looks fantastic. We don't see as many issues with scratches as some of the other reviews, and we have a kid and big dog. We have a few scratches, but we expected that. We like it so much we are ordering stair treads and risers this weekend so we can do the stairs and upstairs hallway. Highly recommend!

ok, to all readers, this is important. My husband and I are novice to hardwood floor installation and boy did we learn the hard way....it started with renting the mallet/ nailer for it. When you rent the nailer, don't forget to tell[...] or wherever you're renting from that you're installing Bamboo and that it is 5/8" thick. They assume you're installing 3/4" thick boards, and when we started, the nailer was shredding our boards to pieces. The 5/8" boards need to be installed with the adapter on the nailer. Next most important thing, when we were 3/4 of the way done with one of our bedrooms, we soon learned that hardwood floors is NOT recommended to be installed on particle board. We teared out our carpet and realized much too late that we were installing on top of particle board, so we're tearing out what we installed and tearing out the particle board and installing plywood as the subfloor. Given the challenges we faced though, what we did already put down looks wonderful and clean. As everyone else, it really scratches easily, so be careful when you install...

I bought this at the LaVernge, TN store...[...] This flooring is not uniform (or one color) you will need to pull from several boxes at one time. We noticed it best to cut from the top..the cut is very smooth this way. There is little waste and the overall look is very good. Watch for scratching if you live in a rocky area(as we do). Overall, the look is good and simple to install. we used roofing felt to cushion and act as a moisture barrier. We let the flooring adjust to the house for 7 days and laid it with the air on (we are new construction). The product is sound and a great look for the price they were running the carbonized for same price as natural, so I was able to get the colored bamboo, but I think the natural would have been a more uniform look, my father pointed out that he thought the carbonized may be stonger due to the heating of the product...I am happy to have a green product and it can be refinished! We are 85% finished and look to be done in 2 more days. Oh....fyi do not use a manual flooring nailer... this does not work well...air powered is the best!

I was a little skeptical to try this myself at first, but by looking at the helpful hints section I was able to gather enough information to feel comfortable doing this myself. We purchased this product to put in our kitchen and it is GREAT!! This finish is awesome and we hope that it is durable too. The ease that it went down was great too. We haven't noticed anything bad about the product, so I would buy this product and use it again elsewhere in the house.

We installed 2 rooms (living room and dining room) two years ago. We have kids, dogs, cats, and chaos. The floor looks great, we are about to install 2 more rooms, the den (toy room) and the entry hall. It cleans up easily with Murphy's Oil soap, and scratches from moving large furniture are small and easily waxed. We nailed it down which took longer but our house is old and the sub-floor was some old wide board pine, and some new plywood.

I was looking for real (not engineered) wood flooring that was 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch and was not a laminate and I wanted to spend around 2 dollars a square foot. I found it at Lumber liquidators with the prefinished bamboo flooring. I replaced the flooring on two stories of a house I just bought with brand new bamboo for around [$]. It looks beautiful, was easy to install, will last for years, and added a lot of value to my home. I am not sure about whether the finish will scratch easily because I haven't moved furniture in yet, but so far with the whole house being remodeled it hasn't scratched so I am optimistic about the durability of the finish. I would highly recommend this product, if you are looking for an inexpensive way to get real hardwood flooring that is not engineered or a laminate.

I installed apx. 650 square feet through four doorways, kitchen, living room, and two BR's, customized all transitions out of flooring material, re-installed baseboards and touched up nail holes around edges. It took two guys two full days (apx 20 hours) to finish. End result is a fantastic looking floor for an extremely reasonable price (apx $3000). The downfalls are that the flooring dings and scratches fairly easily. Knowing this, after the floor installation I covered it in cardboard prior to installation of kitchen cabinets, mopboard, etc. . . This minimized the dings and scratches and is highly recommended. (DO NOT use red rosin paper over floor, if it gets wet it can stain bamboo red) Cleans pretty well, other than beveled edges, which need to be vacuumed with a bristle brush. Overall, very happy with results.

While this product looks great and is inexpensive it scratches far too easily when something is dropped. It takes a few days for the chemical smell to disipate after which time you can admire it's beauty without a pounding headache. Having laid several different species of wood at all different quality ranges this product has the cut and fit of many $4-$6 sq ft higher end products. The price point and ease of installation made this top on my list for an upstairs renovation. The color throughout doesn't vary much I only experienced 1 board out of 20 boxes that had a major color defect. Looks beautiful and hopefully lasts for decades.

We did not install this ourselves. It has a very nice finish. A variety of shades in the boards... so make sure your installer does not alternate between boxes. We already have some dings and scratches, but I am not sure if that is "normal" or not.

Installed this in our kitchen last year and it still looks great!! Installs just like regular hardwood, pretty easy. The bamboo is a little softer than I thought. Don't drop things with sharp edges where the corner could dig into the floor. I dropped a hammer a few inches to the floor and it left a little ding. Still looks good overall. I love it. It is extremely easy to clean!!!

I found this Product easy to install. I have already recommended it to friends. I laid down about 1000 square feet in my living room, dining room, and common areas. It looks great and for roughly the same price as carpet it is the way to go in my opinion. One thing I would reconsider, if and when I buy this product again, would be placement; try to keep this product out of Kitchens, common areas, and the living room. The finish seems to scratch very easy, but it does make a great show piece.

I installed in my family room. In the future I will install in bedrooms. Once started straight, it was very easy to install. The one drawback I noticed is that strands will pull unless you saw it slowly. I still have my baseboards to stain and install, then I will move on to two bedrooms with this same product.

My husband and I took out old carpet and put in these floors into our much-used family room. It makes the room look beautiful but we must be more careful about scratching because the room is being used so frequently.

I love this floor, we used it in our master bedroom. I invite everyone who comes over to my bedroom. I have reduced the furniture in the room so more of the floor shows. No matter what style I choose to decorate the room in the floor will be perfect. The only down side is the 14 hours it took my husband, on his knees to install 170 sq.ft.

My father-in-law decided to remove his wall-to-wall carpeting and install hardwood floors. Since this was closest in finish to Oak but being less expensive, we decided to try it out and see how it goes.

Installation was the same as any hardwood floor installation. I used a Hardwood flooring stapler with a 5/8" adapter plate on the stapler.

Take caution for the following reasons. Since it is carbonized(sugars heated up for color change), it is 30% less "hard" as the non-carbonized meaning that it scratches more easily.

I noticed that if I didn't take care in the placement of my pneumatic stapler - if I pushed it directly against the bamboo and struck the stapler, it would sometimes cause indentations. By having to move the stapler about 1mm away from the bamboo before striking, it increased installation time 10x. In the future, I will purchase a universal shoe for my stapler so that I don't have to worry about this problem.

We put an area rug on top for sound deadening and protection. Also put felt "feet" on all of the furniture.

Overall, I would recommend it for low-traffic areas such as a living room or bedroom.

Love the transition pieces they now have. (Used threshold and stair nose pieces for my installation) - it makes it look more professional.

Easy to install. My wife put down 2/3 of the floor. Looks great. We just have to watch our dogs, the surface can be scratched with their nails. Good product overall

this went into my daughters home the old floors were in such bad shape the were unable to refinish . she likes the renewable resource of bamboo . this went down easy ,the uniform lengths are nice not like oak . cheeper than laminates, better for the enviroment, durable , what more can you ask for

I WOULDN'T GET THIS TYPE OF FLOOR IF YOU HAVE DOGS. IT LOOKS VERY PRETTY BUT WILL SCRATCH AND DENT IF YOU PUT ANYTHING TO HEAVY ON IT.

This floor looks very high quality. The tounge and groove joints are smooth and the edges are micro beveled. The color is pretty uniform. The problem I had with my floor is that the Mapei Adhesive damaged my finish during installation. Do not let the adhesive touch the top of the finish for more than 5 minutes. It must be cleaned the second it touches the floor or else you will get a marred surface and need to either refinish the floor or apply a dressing. Be careful not to let anyone track glue to places that have been completed/cleaned already. Mistakes like that will bite you in the posterior and leave you scrubbing on your hands and knees for days aggrivated.

I placed this bamboo through my kitchen, dining, living rooms, and down the hall. It looks great, but does dent and scratch more easily than I thought it would, so I'm thinking of the marks as adding character to the floor. Rugs in the higher traffic areas help and we're learning to take off our shoes when we enter the house. Overall, I am very pleased with this product.

We had a contractor install bamboo flooring throughout our entire house. Think it was fairly easy to install (stairs are always more of a challenge) but it looks great and we love that it is a "green" alternative.

The smell from the glue was hard to take. There are a few scratches and the glue was hard to get off the floor. But otherwise I love it no more vaccum cleaner !!!!!

We had these floors installed in our new house one year ago and they are already noticably damaged throughout. They are beautiful floors and easy to take care of, but they scratch easily. If you have a small dog they would be fine, our 14 # dog doesn't damage them, but our 65# skids right across them leaving claw marks.

I had my builder install it. It went in like a dream straight through the living room, dining room, kitchen and down the hall. He and I had nothing bad to say about it. No warping or cupping, gorgeous color variations. Honestly, this floor just made the space special. Love that we could get such a wondreful price on it too.

Bamboo floors are the cheapest way to go. If your installing them or letting someone else do your floors, make sure you/they clean the glue off as they go. My floors look great, but I have glue in certain areas, that I cant seem to get off. I tried goo gone and other materials to remove the glue but no luck. If someone knows how to remove the glue off the floors please post a note. My overall experience has been good with the floors except, for this one issue. I love the floors not the glue. I would recommend this product to a friend, but be careful not to get the glue on your floors.

I love the way my floor looks. I looked around for about six months until I decided to go with the bamboo. This floor was very affordable compared to other stores. However, it does scratch easily and dent easily. But, it is not that noticable when that does happen (Believe me I am very picky)! Don't wear high heals!! Might not be good if you have big dogs. Completely changes the look of the place!

I was very impressed with the floor when I saw it on the website, Loved it even more when I saw it in the store. The floor was installed in my kitchen and I cannot believe how easily it dents.
I thought I was doing the right thing by buying an Eco-friendly floor and now I'm not so sure. I don't think that I would recommend this floor be put in a kitchen. Maybe a livingroom in a house without small children. Definately no toys. Also, when the floor was being installed there was alot of defects in the flooring causing a large amount of wasted materials.

We hope it lasts for several decades. Only concern is that bamboo is a grass, and unlike hardwood, it cannot be sanded down and redone. Still, it made an older 60's home look sleek and modern. And nobody should live with carpeting anymore.
