Extremly durable flooring. Pretty much ruined a chop saw blade installing this stuff, but I love it. You cannot face nail this flooring without drilling a pilot hole. Beautiful finish but there is some variance from board to board. Out of 43 boxes of flooring purchased only one bad board! Absolutely no warpage whatsoever. Good stuff.

Installed 300sq ft of this flooring in a weekend (with a friend's help). No issues to speak of, except 1 board was slightly warped. It would have still worked, but I had enough extra that I just didn't use that board. The floor looks beautiful, no gaps/cracks/scratches anywhere. The floor is so durable, I dropped a nail gun on it and can't see any damage! Would recommend this product to anyone.

If the choice must be bamboo then this is a good product. It is much more resistant compared to regular bamboo.

Less than optimal quality of finish. Approx 3-4 pieces per box of 18 had "wrinkles" on the surface that are not suitable for use. Retailers such as Lumber Liquidator refer to this as industry standard; what it means to the consumer... buy 5% more than you you anticipated.

Was sick of the builder basic beige carpet and decided an upgrade was past due. Out with the boring carpet and in with the beautiful wood floors. Happy I added the skirt board along the stairs and decided to do the treads versus flooring boards. I absolutely love them!

I had the floor installed. I did watch the installer for a while and talked to him about the product. He said that the floor was pretty goo quality. He mentioned that some companies laser cut their boards and that these were not and that he got a couple splinters. He also stated that a few of the boards had some slight warping to them, making it difficult for a glue down floor. He was able to use them.
There is very little waste. I was able to return two boxes of flooring.
The product is hard and seems resistant to scratching. You will probably want to get some pads to stick on the legs of your furniture anyway.

Just installed the flooring this weekend, so can't say much about the wear and tear, but right now, the flooring looks great. Seems very durable, and hard.

Great price for the flooring.

We unpacked the flooring to let it acclimate for about 7 days. It's been humid, so some of the boards were a little bowed, but installed fine.

There were some boards in the boxes that had flaws at the edges - likely due to the "stranding" process. There were other boards that seemed to have extra gobs of finish as well. We were careful to use only good boards were the flooring is visible, and used the flawed boards under cabinets, et cetera.

Even with the flaws, we had very little waste. We bought an extra 15%, but didn't need that much.

This bamboo floor is a strand woven type that is very strong and hard. The natural blond color makes it look bright without hurting the eyes. Natural wood pattern hides and blends small dings, gouges, and scrapes on the floor very well. It is prone to splinter if cut too fast. Just make sure to go slow on the saw cuts to reduce splinters on the ends.

This bamboo floor has lived up to everything we were hoping for. We installed about 400 sq ft of this product and it was very easy. We did use Lumber Liquidators tar paper under our floor as a moisture barrier. The boards easily came together. We did go to [...] for the floor nailer. We used the 1/2" plate that came with the nailer. That thing handled the floor no problem, it even help push the pieces together even tighter. This floor is in the busiest room of the house, the family room. We have dogs, cats and teenagers. So far, no scratches!!! I use a dry microfiber mop to pick up the top layer of pet hair. This product is wonderful. I would love to put in our master bedroom and our office.

It took two days for my dad (a professional contractor) and I to install 400 sq ft of this floor in our kitchen, dining room and entry way. The fields were easy, but it took a lot longer on the cut arounds. But we estimated 2 days. It look amazing. Also, their 90 lb golden lab ran across the floor after we were done and there wasn't a scratch on it.

Really like the look of the finished floor and we have had loads of compliments. Installation was straightforward but I wish I had done the floor before I installed the cabinets. I thought I'd save flooring by not going under the cabinets (big mistake). Whatever I saved in flooring, I lost double that in all the extra time it took to make the cuts around the cabinets (which are much more precise than just running out to the wall).

Very good stuff, but make sure that you don't use too big of a flooring cleat, 18ga or smaller is the way to go.

I have used this bamboo in my master bedroom, hall, and den. It is very easy to work with, mostly pushes into place. (I've only had to tap three or four pieces into place in all this work.) It is far superior to 15 year bamboo I purchased elsewhere. Measure, cut, glue, push into place. Very easy to work with. If it were any easier, someone else would be doing it.

I absolutely love these floors! After many months or even years of debate, we decided to go with these bamboo floors due to their durability and beauty. We have three dogs and two boys. One of our dogs is 130 pounds and the two other dogs are 60 pounds, so I had to get a floor that would last. We initially put these floors in our 700 square foot bonus room and I loved it so much that we just had our entire downstairs done. They are easy to clean, do not scratch and gorgeous. My installer even stated that my dog could take one of these boards and chew on it for a week and it would not even put a dent in it!

This is some hard wood. I put down 1000 sqft. Too hard to use staples, needed to use cleats. Went through two saw blades cutting. Two years since I put it in my cabin home, no squeaks, easy to clean, and everyone loves the look.

My only complaints are they are too short and its hard to get exact matched molding or transition pieces. It would have went faster if they were 5' or longer and I always made sure to drive into the floor joists and not just anywhere in the field. Longer boards would have meant I could have hit more joists per board.

Trying to decide if I want to put down another 500 sq' in my kitchen and dinette area, since it looks so good.

I had a friend install this floor for me and he said it was no different than installing hardwood, other than he went through a few blades (because the wood was harder). I absolutely LOVE my new floor! If it had been available when I put hardwood in my living and dining rooms, I would have definitely used this instead. One of the things I really like about this flooring is that it has a matte finish and feels really soft and smooth under your feet (perfect for a bedroom). I really can't say enough about this floor and about the professionalism and friendliness of the staff at Lumber Liquidators!

I did 5 rooms on my main floor, had I think maybe one bad board, but really I don't remember any bad boards. When I got to the ends near the wall, on the last board(s) I would pre-drill a hole for my nails on the lips and on the final board row I would pre-drill through the boards. I found if I put the bit in a container of water it would cool off thus I would not break my bit in the hard bamboo. I exchanged it for the strand carbonized instead and love the color. I liked the natural but in the showroom, I noted the light color contrasted agains the dirt that colloected around the edges so I opted for the darker color and love it. The guys at my local Lumber Liquidators store warned me that this stuff might be hard to install, but we found it easy to work with. The product is great for high-traffic areas -- it's hard, dense, and stands up to wear very well -- and the final look is very, very nice. Bamboo has a look of its own, and doesn't quite look like hardwood, but if you like the look, as I did, you should give this product a long look. It looks great in our room, and represents a very good value.

One of the concerns I had was how it would be affected by water being spiled on the flooring. I took a 4 inch wide piece of scrap and put it in a pan of water over night. Completely immersed it for @14 hours. When I took it out in the morning and wiped it dry it looked great. The cut edges had a little sign that they had soaked in a bit of water @ 1/8th -3/16th of an inch, but you really had to look to see it. I set it on the counter and let it dry out. Within a day or so you couldn't tell it had ever been it the water at all. To me that is impressive, no warping, no raising of the edges and the stranding shows no signs of coming apart. Oh ... and it tooks and feels great on top of being an affordable and renewable product !

I've had the floor installed for around 6 months in my bedroom & liked it so much that I added hardwood to the living room, spare BR, and hallway. I love these boards and the price was worth every penny. Brightens up our room with the light bamboo and the 7 yr.-old wood makes it durable even for my dog that slides across the floor constantly. Take the time to inspect your grooves if your tongue and groove leaves any gaps when mating the boards to one another. This could save you from having to putty the gaps or worse - tolerance build-up that could leave you with more problems at the end of the room.

We had this flooring installed professionally 5 days ago and are very happy with it so far. We have 7 kids, ages 9 and under, so it gets a lot of traffic. So far, I have seen various items dropped on or slid across the floor (a CD/tape player, large toys, a kiddie scooter bike scooted across it, etc.), and no dents or scratches yet. It is also very easy to clean up. Our one-year-old ran across it with very muddy shoes and it was a lot easier to clean up than the off-white carpeting that used to be in the living room! This seems like a great solution for our family. We are thinking of installing it in the kitchen as well.

After months of research (serious research), we finally selected this product. Last year we had it installed in our bedroom. I just got tired of cleaning carpet. So far it is working great! It feels so good when walking barefeet. At the time of this writing, we are having it installed in our hallway, on the steps and in the living room. Yes it is expensive, but not as expensive as some of the other woods that scored no where near as high on the Janka Scale. I have 2 more bedrooms to do once the budget allows.

The contractors had a hard time when the initial installation began (bedroom). Once they came back with the proper tools, it was a breeze. Do not think about using a staple gun--it will not work. This stuff is HARD!!.

We had it professionally installed in the dining room,living room,bed room and halls of our condo and we couldn't be happier with this product. The floor looks great. The picture of the flooring on the website does not do it justice. The variation in the color and the grain adds a warmth to our rooms that was never there with the old carpet.

Definitely go with the strand bamboo. It may be more expensive than regular bamboo but it is worth it.

We used the Lumber Liquidators installers and they did a great job and I would recommend them. They even put the felt pads I bought under all our furniture for us. I also recommend felt pads for under the furniture to prevent any scratches.

There was minimal waste and the coloring was great. The only issue was variation between lots which was expected with the big order. The bamboo is so hard that it made nailing somewhat challenging and we had to modify how each piece was installed. A hammer was dropped on it without a dent or scratch.

We love the bamboo. We installed it ourselves and found that to be a little tricky. Traditional hardwood nailers would not work because the bamboo was so hard. We ended up having to predrill holes to put the nails through.
Even though this was a long process it was well worth the effort.

Not being up to a three room install, I hired out the job (not from LL--my bad). Things I learned--it requires a special glue over concrete but has a moisture barrier in the glue. You must clean up any glue as you go--once it dries it is semi permanent requiring an act of god to remove. that being said, it is absolutely gorgeous and seems warmer than the carpet it replaced.

Beautiful look. We used it throughout house. Product was in good shape so we had extra left over to do stairs. We did kitchen last year so we could see how much color had changed in the sun. We had to remove rugs for summer to even out. The biggest downside is the inital formaldehyde odor when you open the boxes and take it out to acclimate. Went away in 2-3 days.

Our daughters have been bringing their dogs to our home. This product Does NOT show any scratches from their nails. One is a lab and the other is a Boston Terrier (his are sharper).
Easy clean up and holds up to high traffic volume and we know since I am one of 6 children and my wife is one of 12 children. Don't forget about all those neices and nephews now having children of their own.
The floor just looks great! And an easy clean up! We love that! Dry swiffer and you can even use a little bit of bruce floor cleaner and it looks great!

Initially I was concerned about using Bostik's Best Adhesive to attach Strand Bamboo Flooring to wood subfloor. This was the first wood floor project I had used urethane adhesive as the bonding agent. However, the guidelines given by the Lumber Liquidators Help Line personnel were quite useful and prevented any problems. Two (2) major guidelines sets were stated- First major guideline set: A) initially place two rows of flooring down placing close attention to a string line to insure rows are straight and; B) carefully measure room length and install the starter rows to insure the final row will have sufficient room to be installed and relatively parallel to wall; C) allow adhesive sufficient time to cure before proceeding with laying additional flooring (I allowed 72 hours). Second guideline set: 1) before installing flooring rows adjust joint spacing to insure all joints are spaced properly; 2) spread only sufficient adhesive to glue four, 4, rows at a time; 3) use the ¼" x ¼" trowel to control adhesive thickness {be sure glue height does not extend above the flooring tongue and grove height}; 4) carefully slide each piece of flooring in-to-place at a slight angle to avoid picking up adhesive and insert into previous laid row with its side just touching last piece laid so front and side can be easily slip into place without getting adhesive into the tongue & grove joints; 5) using a tapping block and/or pulling bar tightly close gap before installing next piece; 6) Use blue painters tape (I used 2" wide) to secure the freshly laid rows to the previous rows; 7) if any adhesive does escape and get on flooring surface clean immediately with Bostik Urethane Remover (mineral spirits will work, note for a 18' x 22' floor we used only a small portion of one bottle of Bostik Remover). Continue four (4) rows at a time until the flooring job is complete or you are ready for a break!

The bamboo is really wonderful. When we floored the whole house there was a very large difference in color between boxes so we sorted them. NOw it looks great. Then we had a water leak, bamboo doesnt like water. Had to re-do a room and the color was perfect. It's easy to clean and no warping or cracking with the strand bamboo. The house looks great and is a "green" product.

Since they were only 3 feet long, it was difficult to stagger. The tongue and groove made installing easy but staggering more difficult.
The website made it look like wood but the actual product looked more like the horizontal samples I've seen. Better that than the other strand samples I've seen though. You can see that is strand though if you look at the end.

We love our new strand bamboo floor. It's beautiful and was highly rated. Although it is only a few weeks old, we have no regrets so far. There was very little waste during installation that we had done by a carpenter. I wish I could put this floor in the rest of my house but it's just not in the budget right now. We put it in 3 bedrooms and a hall, and soon our kitchen.

We installed the strand bamboo in our living room about eight months ago and we absolutly love it. Installation was pretty easy once we narrowed down the right tool. We rented a staple gun that worked great. It has been through moderate every day use and a few heavy traffic parties....it cleans up beautifully and easily every time. We get constant compliments on it as well. After a few months of enjoying our bamboo floor we have decided to add it to our entry and main hallways.

This flooring was a breeze to glue down on a concrete slab. The tabs and grooves lined up and in 8 boxes I had only one board that had slight damage on one end. I was able to trim the board and use it anyway. It took an intentional attempt to damage this flooring just to make a mark on the sample piece. My wife and I worked from 5 boxes at a time and the blend was magnificient. This flooring will be going down in the rest of our house.

This one had a half day learning curve. It seams that bamboo is not 5/8" it is metric and slightly thinner. Cleat nail guns do not have an adapter to shoot the nail in the correct position. I put a shim on the gun with a piece of aluminum capping to move the gun further from the board and the install went great! Do not use staples. Looks great. Very little waste. Very satisfied.

This Morning Star Bamboo flooring is hard as a rock and takes some finesse to install with the nailing gun but as soon as you get into a rhythm it's smooth sailing - my son and I measured together, then my son cut and I nailed, nice to have a team effort. The color is a perfect match to the golden oak flooring we already have in the upstairs of the house which was a great concern to my wife. We've replaced all of our carpeting in the bedrooms and all other rooms in our downstairs as we are tired of the dust mites, etc., in carpeting! This flooring is a breeze to clean and we don't have a scratch, yet - even with 3 cats and one dog!

THe Strand Woven Bamboo floor was installed in our addition that is a multi-purpose room- Dining Room, Play Room and Homes-school room. It opens out to a muddy yard and the floor cleans up easily. You do need to keep it swept or it can be scratched by chairs being slid across it.
It is very dense and take a whole lot to dent. It is a superior product to the non-strand woven less expensive bamboo flooring available. It is worth the price if you have kids.

Never having installed this type of flooring, we were leary of it but it is BEAUTIFUL! We glued it down as opposed to nailing it. We didn't have problems with cutting it as we thought we might. The differing tones and levels of darkness from piece to piece makes it even more amazing. Make sure you open all the boxes so you have a good handle on how many dark and how many light pieces you have. Really nice product and reasonable price. Would recommend to others.

This is an excellent manufactured tongue and groove board. The bamboo wood is extremely hard and, with seven layers of urethane coating, it does not dent or scratch easily.
If you don't use a pneumatic nail gun, you should drill pilot homes for your nails. If it is mistreated during installation, the tongue and groove pieces can fray and splinter, so use scrap pieces to knock the boards in place.
The mature bamboo strands look great on the floor. They are bound by resins containing less than 0.1% free formaldehyde, so there is a slight odor that dissapates quickly. When sawing or drilling, use a dust mask anyway.
The boards have light, warm colors and even minor flaws are very rare. I was able to use every board and the few I did not use were discarded because of my own mistakes.
Lots of information about this product is available online. Once it is installed, cleaning is a breeze. I could not be more pleased with this product unless it installed itself.

Very hard material. I glued it down to the concrete floor. This is Strand Woven Bamboo mixed with epoxy, makes it very strong and resistant to moisture. This why I replaced my old hardwood flooring in my kitchen with it. I recommend using an 18" Compound Mitre saw with new blades!

This product is beautiful and extremely durable. The guys at LL were extremely helpful (and funny). I had a little trouble getting the staples to set right with the nailer so I switched to cleats. This made all the difference. The floor went down smoothly with very few problems. The most difficult part (believe it or not) was countersinking the face nails. The floor is so hard I had a difficult time getting the heads of the finish nails into the wood. All in all, an excellent, durable product that I would recommend to anyone. Everyone that has seen it, loves it.

This stuff looks awesome. It took me longer to get out the old carpet and padding as compared to the floor install. The wood is beautiful. The boards are very uniform. I didn't have any problem with the nailers. I couldn't be happier with how it looks and am grateful that I didn't pay for someone else to do the installation for me.

All boards were straight. we did have some problems with boards that were not the same width, which in turn made it hard to get tight seams. we just removed the ones we saw before we nailed it. And speaking of nailing, OH MY GOSH!!! This stuff is hard. Used a pneumatic floor nailer and had to set it at 130 psi. We still had some nails not go all the way in. Hard stuff! Stairs were the most difficult thing to do. But they turned out beautiful!!!

We've been very happy with our strand bamboo floors so far. We installed it throughout our main floor (kitchen, family room, laundry room, and 1/2 bath). We have 2 large, active dogs, with large nails and we haven't gotten a single scratch yet! This stuff is MUCH harder than the traditional bamboo, but still retains the great environmental features of bamboo and the general look of bamboo, although it's darker than the traditional natural bamboo. We had it installed because we didn't have the time to do it, but our installer was impressed with the durability and ease of installation. I would definitely recommend this product.

I was extremely happy at the look was it was installed. Better than we expected based on the samples/pictures.
Pieces were all un-warped, so I didn't have to contort any boards to get them to fit in place. And no gaps along the sides from horizontal warping.
Only problem I had was the actual nailing down. This stuff is like a rock. If I wasn't careful the pneumatic nailer would kick-back and not fully sink the staples. All face-nailing had to be pilot-drilled first or the nails would just bend. So while it doesn't dent (and I have tested that), it's tough to nail. A compromise I'd take any time.
It also seems very resistant to scratches, although we're still pampering it since it's our new baby.

This flooring is as hard as nails. We went through 2 saw blades installing 1400 square feet of this stuff. It is beautiful and I am glad I did my homework where bamboo is concerned. Even the finish contractors couldn't scratch it (and I think they tried). I wish I had put it in the kids rooms as well. If you are considering bamboo flooring...don't hesitate, this stuff is the best

This product is solid bamboo - not like the other products out there that maybe a 1/4" bamboo and 3/4 compressed particle board.

When laying the boards, some chips appeared (1 out of 30 boards. But, with the correct color putty you can't even see them.

As we are all becomming more aware of our environment, I'm pleased that I have selected bamboo for my flooring as it will replace itself in four years whereas other woods will not be replaced for up to 40 years! And, bamboo is 25% harder than oak!!!
