Warning...this floor will most likely make the rest of your house look like a dump! Immediately after putting it in we decided to refinish our trim and base molding, paint the entire room, get a new toilet and a new vanity in the bathroom! My lumber liquidator savings came in handy! Beautiful color variation with a redish-brown hue ranging from dark to medium light tones. This is a durable product (and very heavy...if you decide to pick up a fair amount from the store you will need a pretty substantial vehicle). It seems incredibly durable for daily abuse, yet I would urge caution during installation. Be VERY careful with tools, (nailer, nails, prybars, etc...) I got a few scratches through the poly coat during install. Because of the color variation though, they will cover up very nicely with a color stick. Again, we could not be more pleased with the product. I am now going to install in our living room, family room and dining room!

I used this product in our bedroom and it turned out great. I installed the product using nails, the tongue would split if the nailer was hit too hard, but using a moderate strike the tongue on the bamboo was fine. The only slight disappointment I had with the product is that some of the edges didn't get stained where they are beveled, leaving some ligther areas where the boards meet up with each other. Overall we are satisifed with the product. Our bedroom looks wonderful.

I would recommend glue down install. I installed with a nail gun and I can hear creaks even with the insulating material on the floor.

I laid down this floor about 1 1/2 years ago and I love it. I live in a 2 story house and the sales person told me that it scratches easily but I didn't worry to much about it because its not in a high traffic area. Not to may people go upstairs. When we entertain on the first floor. I have 3 mini dachshunds and the floor stands up to their nails. The only thing I hated about laying the floor was the glueing process that I had to do since my 2nd story foundation is concrete. What a pain in the butt !!!

Pretty finish but not durable in the least plastic toys falling on the floor should not dent it. Durability must improve to sell this product.

We installed these floors in our kitchen and family room about 15 months ago. It was very easy to install (but we are experienced renovators). We intentionally went with bamboo to be more eco-conscious than hardwood, knowing that it would not be as durable. My husband (who grew up with all wood floors) warned me that if scratches and dents bothered me I should not get wooden floors because of course if you drop canned goods on them they will dent and scratch. He also warned me that dark floors are like dark cars - they only look good when they have just been detailed. He was right on both counts. We have noticed significant wear under our chairs despite using felt pads. When we installed the refrigerator we took great care and still managed to ding it. I nearly had a heart attack. Over a year later it just looks lived in but not any worse than the cherry floors we had in our previous house. The floor is actually fairly forgiving - twice a wine bottle has gotten knocked off a wine rack and fallen three feet to the ground and was fine. We get lots of compliments on how beautiful they look. HOWEVER...I am a slave to this flooring. If I do not sweep every single day the dust and dirt shows horribly. I actually sweep after every single meal. It cleans very easily with swiffer or damp mop (vinegar works best!) but you have to damp mop the dust off before you wet mop it or else the wet mop will just smear the dust around. If you mop before you go to bed, don't be surprised if you come into the room in the morning and see dust everywhere. So if you have the time to maintain it then go for it, but if you have young children and pets and are bothered by hair, dust, and crumbs then these are not the floors for you, save yourself the heartache and get a neutral light colored porcelain tile.

We installed 860 square feet of this in our great room in August 2010. 3 months later, we are pleased with the overall appearance, but not the durability. It is a beautiful color, it installed easily. It does scratch VERY easily. We have two young sons who love to play with their cars and trucks in the house and I am afraid this floor will not withstand even gentle toy use. While installing it, we noticed it scratched very easily but at that point it was too late to turn back. Plus, we have a wooden ceiling and this bamboo color was the only one close to matching it. Had we known, I think we would have paid extra to go with Strand bamboo and just would have overlooked the color variation. At the time, however, matching the ceiling to the floor as closely as possible was of extreme importance. Overall, I love the look of it but I would not recommend it's use in high traffic area or if you have active children who will be playing on it. I have noticed that a Minwax Stain Pen works pretty well to cover up minor scratches, but again, it takes very little effort to scratch the floor. One of my kids dropped a plastic toy hammer and it nicked the floor pretty bad. I just think when you invest so much in a floor, it should be able to withstand everyday use. We do get a lot of compliments on the beautiful color and variation of tones, but I'm thinking if there are more scratches than color, the compliments will be dying down shortly. I would recommend this to a friend, but only in extremely low traffic areas.

The bamboo looks fantastic! I love it and get lots of great compliments. It scratches easier than I hoped it would though - I might not recommend such a dark uniform finish especially if you have pets or children.

We installed ≈1500 sf of this floor about a year ago. The installation was simple. We installed it over plywood, concrete and stairs. The glue on the concrete was a bit challenging as moved easily making it difficult to keep tight joints and the glue got everywhere requiring lots of clean up. We did have some minor scratches that came mainly during installation and as we finished other projects. Over all we are happy with the floor and it looks great.

We decided to go 'green' & save $$ in our retirement home so we chose Bamboo, it was afterall beautiful in the store. Unfortunately, it has been a disappointment. Scratches and dings easily. I am constantly applying old English(dark)scratch cover to the floor. I am sorry but I would not recommend this product to anyone. We installed, stained & applied polyurethane to our beautiful hardwood floors in our previous home of 13 years, it was so easy to care for. Give me good ole hardwood floors any day.

I installed this floor in our new master bath. We were told it would void the warranty, but decided to go with it anyway. [...] I have installed several hardwood floors and this went in easily. No problems at all with installation. I am a little concerned about how well it will wear. I have a few scratches already and it has only been in for a week. As others have said, it does seem to scratch easily, but it looks great. Can't beat the price either.

love the floor. Not very forgiving as it is a dark color and shows all. However, it is easy to clean. We have had a few scratches, but that may be due to the fact that we had contractors finishing up in our home.

Floor looks beautiful. However, it scratches way too easily. I should have taken more time to work with some samples to test. I have 2 Golden Retrievers, and they have already scratched a part of the floor so bad, it will have to be re-finished. This is after 2 weeks since install. Any time they run out of the room, I cringe knowing they just left scratches all over that area. I have trimmed their nails and filed off the sharp edges. Doesn't help. Luckily, I have only done 1 room so far and I will switch to something else for the other 3 rooms.

Wood slivers easily when it has to be cut. High gloss finish scratches really easily. I would only recommend in a low traffic area.

I recently had my entire home rennovated. I initially started to go with a more expensive hardwood floor....BUT when I saw the bamboo samples at the store I instantly changed my mind.
The only bad things are that dust shows up even right after I have swept & mopped AND it scratches very easily.

I get several compliments on the flooring.

Great floor! I have three little kids that are very tough on the floor. It can take anything they throw at it. Very easy to clean. I had LL install the floor and that is my only knock. The only knock is that the company that did the install did not measure right and I ended up short on flooring.

It is beautiful and classy flooring. Since its a dark color, dust and particles show up easily, but it is easy to clean. I vacuum and clean with a damp mop. I love walking barefooted on my new flooring.

Sealant must be applied 24 hours prior to installation.

Apply adhesive and take your time but don't let the glue dry.

Adhesive gets to be difficult or gooey.

We ripped out the carpet, planning to install hardwoods, but when we saw the beauty of the prefinished bamboo at an unfinished hardwood price, we couldn't resist the purchase.

Our install was a glue-down on slab, and bamboo tends to slide a bit, so that part was a little annoying. But overall, when it was done, we were very pleased.

We plan to eventually install bamboo throughout and stick with MorningStar.

We installed about 800 square feet of this stained bamboo. It went down fairly easily with a pneumatic flooring stapler rented from Home Depot. We have noticed that the floor does ding and scratch fairly easily. Not sure what would happen if we had a dog. For the most part is is stunning, and we get comments on how great it looks all the time!
