I'm really happy with the results. The flooring is beautiful and went down as expected. I would just point out that the finish holds up well but that the bamboo is prone to denting. Dropping almost anything on the floor (such as a screwdriver) will leave a dent. For this reason I would recommend this product for bedrooms and other non-high traffic areas.

Pro's: By mixing the Arcadia (darker) with the Dali (lighter) bamboo flooring (2:1) I was able to almost match my existing Brazilian cherry flooring. I think this is a very good product. There were no defective pieces found. The flooring is very hard. which makes it very durable.

Con's: There are none.

We bought the Morning Star Bamboo flooring (Dali color) about a month ago. The floor installed fairly easily. The only problem with install was that all the pieces are the same length unlike other wood flooring so that added an extra degree if difficulty in lining it up to make a nice design. The color is gorgeous and exactly what we were looking for and the price was very reasonable.

The only bad thing we've found with the flooring is that despite reading it was one of the hardest woods to use for flooring, our 70 lbs boxer dog put HUGE scratches in it within hours of it being done. The dog is very skittish and gets unnerved easily so I wouldn't say it was the floor's fault but it is something to be aware of if you have animals that tear across the house like ours does!

Biggest complaint is the durability of the floor. We specifically asked for the recommendation of a durable floor. We have dogs and wanted to avoid scratches. We were assured that this is the strongest and can be compared to really strong woods. While we expect scratches from the dogs and are quite okay with that, we certainly DO NOT expect scratches from everyday activities. Before we were able to put felt over our couch legs it had already dented the floor from SITTING THERE. We are NOT large people either. Additionally, when we carefully rolled the refrigerator back in place, we noticed deep grooves afterwards. We were super cautious and moved it really slowly and it still ruined the floor in this area. We are SUPER disappointed with the durability. We laid the floor throughout our entire downstiars. The floor was easy for my husband to install and with only working on the weekends, he was able to lay about 900 sq. ft. in just two weekends. The color is great and when clean it looks really warms up the rooms.

I live in a 100+ year old rowhouse in Baltimore. Over the years there have been so many remodels that probably the only thing that is original is the facade and steps (gotta love those marbel steps). So instead of trying to restore the house the wife an I are s-l-o-w-l-y doing a green renovation. We decide to go with the Dali bamboo floors by Morningstar and the Dream Home
Insulayment which is 90% recycled material.

Pros:
color - not too light and not too dark
grain - horizontally cut so that you can see that it is real bamboo. The knots add just the right amout of color and texture (not real texture since the floors are very smooth)
easy to install - I have never tackled a job of this size and was nervous about screwing up. The hardest part was deciding to go length-wise or width-wise. Once I got the first couple of rows going it was a breeze.
Kids love sliding on the new floors.
Warmer than kitchen tile - I wish I had bought these floors before I put tile in my kitchen. With the underlayment the floors are easily 5 degrees warmer than the tile.

Cons:
Scratches easier than I thought - since the color is applied to the bamboo, if you scratch past the color the light color of the bamboo shows. This was pissing me off as my brother "helper" was constantly dropping screwdrivers, hammers, nails, etc on the floor. But in reality they weren't even noticable in the end. I actually had to point out the scratched to my wife once we finished. I guess you noticed every single sractch since you're usually 3 feet above them while installing. I went over the scratches with Old English Funrniture polish and the scratches disappeared.
dents - I have two kids under 2 y.o. and the oldest drops eveything from bottles to toys on the floor. There are already several dents. But oddly there aren't any scratches or dents around the front door or kitchen which are the most heavily trafficed areas. I have heard that it takes several years for floors to get really hard. Hopefully this is the case with these floors.

Had bamboo installed in two large bedrooms - over 600 sq ft. My contractor noted that it was very easy to install, though he had to use a finish nailer vs. a traditional nailgun. He had very little waste, and said that each piece was color-consistent and straight. Will do more rooms soon with this product.

We had this floor installed in our newly built house installing approximately 1600 sq ft throughout our ranch.

We had oak floors in our previous house and never had a scratch or dent with our 60 pound dog. Our dog put scratches in this floor since day one. I do have to say the finish didn't scratch off but the bamboo did dent. My 1 year old daughter has dropped toys from her tall height of 27 inches and left dents.

I am extremely dissatisfied with the durability of this floor after sales people told me it was better than oak.

On the plus side it does look great so if you have a room that is a low traffic area it would work well.

We opted for the Morning Start Dali flooring for our kitchen renovation. Due to pricing vs. quality vs. appearance. It offered the best options all the way around. Despite installing cabinets, electrical work, Drywall work & plumbing after installation scratching has not been a problem. Installation was easy though time consuming compared with vinyl or linoleum but the time was well spent. Photos will follow after the project is complete.

Our floor is beautiful. We installed it on a slab so it was a little bit tricky. But, all in all, it was actually easier to install than we expected. Love the color! It's much warmer and a little more formal than most of the bamboo I've seen. We have already sent a sample piece to our daughter so that she can decide if she wants to use it in her house. I don't foresee any problems--it seems solid as a rock. Thanks Lumber Liquidators.

About three months ago I remodeled my living room and decided to go with this flooring. I must say that it was the best choice I made. My living room came out looking great and even after a few months it still looks as good as it did when it was first put down.

Just a 4 month follow up to my last review. The floor still looks great. Installed in the dinning room that my wife needed to have. ( having been a kids play room with carpet for 10 yrs). The room is about 12 X 14. Don't use it much and it has a 8 X 10 area rug in the middle of it. So I can't say to much about scratches or dents since we don't go in there much. But it still looks great! The only thing that I don't care for is that all of the pieces are 3' long. So on a skinny room, seams are harder to offset. I've read that people say it scratches and dents easily, but so does any wood flooring. All in all, If I could, I would of put it on my whole first floor. It's that nice.

Having been in the business for 27 yrs. I have installed ( as we like to say, acres of hardwood) my share of hardwood. Mostly red oak or white oak. Installing the bamboo was the same to me. I own the Bostich flooring stapler. I just had to add a piece of cardboard to the bottom of the stapler to compansate for the 1/8" difference in thickness, just duct taped the cardboard to the tool. It's only been down for 2 days. Still working on the trim. Let you know later about how it holds up to any traffic. Installed it in my dinning room. It looks great. I'm impressed so far.

This bamboo floor is absolutely beautiful! My husband and my father in law installed it in 4 different rooms with no major problems. So far I have no complaints whatsoever. I will say that the finished product isn't as red as the picture shows (which is fine by me)..so make sure you go into the store to look at the sample before you purchase anything online
