The stain coat is extremely thin, and the bare bamboo is almost white. We have had it a year in low traffic areas and it is so scratched up that we will need to replace within another two years.

I flip homes for a living. My crew & I installed 1,200 SF of the Sambucca floors in a luxury home that I acquired. It looks fantastic, was extremelly cost effective, and went down fairly easy. After working with this product though, I WOULD NEVER BUY IT AGAIN. The finish on the wood is very thin. Not only does it scratch easily, the clear coat also comes off. We had to keep 100% of the floor covered the entire time we were working on the home. I used painter's blue tape in a few areas to keep the floor coverings down. When I pulled it up it took chunks of the clear coat with it! Wearing ANY type of shoe on the floor scuffs it. Good luck trying to find a stain to match when you need to repair all the scratch marks as well. As I said, it looks spectacular but everyone touring the home has to take their shoes off because I fear they will damage the floors. Once the home is lived in, there will be no avoiding further damage. The money I saved on these will have to go to laying several coats of clear coat over it because I can't deliver a faulty product to whoever buys the home.

I've had my floors for almost 3 yrs now and I love them, the color hasn't faded or anything. Only problem i have is that it does scratch too easily, so be careful with high heel shoes. But I clean mine regularly with the recommended soy based cleaner and they've held up fine. I'm looking into getting my kitchen area done now! I don't have kids so i don't have as much traffic as others may have.

we installed it in our bedroom and it was difficult to install. after only months, we started to notice smudges all over the bamboo floor, and the finish seems to be flaking and peeling off, it scrathes very easily too. i have to constantly clean it. its not worth it. i wanted to install wood floors in all my house and now i just dont want to anymore.

Installed this floor and the same day scuffs and scratches were all over it! Not to mention you can see every little thing that falls on it because of the color. I would recommend a laminant instead. My daughters plastic high chair was even scuffing it up and she only weighs 22lbs. We had plastic tips on our dinning room chairs and that really scuffed up the area! We eventually put on the felt on the legs and haven't had a problem since, but every scratch, scuff and dent is very visable due to the color. I've been online and to 3 different hardware stores and researched the internet to find a filling putty to cover the nail holes and have had no luck. I'm going to try a stainable putty and find a color to match, but this also has been a headache!! If you like this color and don't mind cleaning it ALL the time, then I suggest getting a laminate instead of hardwood. I've always been told that hardwood is more durable, but I have laminate in my basement for 3yrs now and not one scratch or scuff yet!!

I love the flooring look. It's only been a month so I am not sure about the wear. Disadvantage on the dark color is that it shows all the dust and I have to sweep almost daily. The swiffer wet for hardwood did a great job cleaning the dust. The other dry dusters only moved it around. Its beautiful when clean!

This product looked beautiful for about a day. After that is started to deny and scratch very very easy. Be very carful not to drop anything on the floor is will dent it. I dropped a spoon and it dented it. Also be very carful that NO ONE walks on it with high heeled shoes they will severely dent it. If you get a lot of sun in the location that you install this flooring it will fade very quickly.

First time to install hardwood flooring and it was easy yet laboring. It takes longer to do than I first thought, give yourself the better part of a week from the time of purchase. Wood needs to sit for at least 72 hours to adjust for humidity. Then takes 24 hours for the moisture barrier to dry. Buy mineral spirits and good off and take your time, try to remove the glue splatter right away.

This floor is beautiful and doesn't scratch easily like other bamboo flooring. My only complaint would be cleaning it. It leaves every footstep print taken on it. It shows everything do to the finish and deep color.

I placed this product in my family room and so far everyone loves it. I have a 90 pound lab that hasn't been able to destroy it either. The trim pieces are rather expensive and I didn't order enough so I went down to the local do-it-yourself store and had to buy off-the-shelf trim and stain it with the ebony wood stain and then sealed it with polyurethane. Voile'! A perfect match at half the price.

I love the look of this flooring. We installed it in our son's bedroom, although we have not finished remodeling it the floors look great. My husband and 14 year old son installed it in a day. I was very surprised how fast they did it because they have never installed hardwood before. I am very happy with it and will recommend it to anyone.

Easy install, start in one corner with the tongue facing out and get to work.
1 person can do the job but I would recommend 1 cutter, 1 setter (tapping in place) and 1 nailer.

The floor is gorgeous when you complete it.

It's absolutely gorgeous and everyone who's seen it says WOW! I've used it in the Living Room/Dining Room/Kitchen areas, which are all open to each other, and it's very dramatic. I looked for a long time and this turned out to be twice as beautiful and cost half as much as anything else I sort-of liked. My nephew installed the floor and said it was pretty easy. He had a couple of challenges, but probably due to the state of my subfloor. I couldn't be happier.

SO far so good. The finish looks great. Too early to tell just how durable it is. Give it a few years. The finish comes off on your socks though. If you wear white socks they'll have a brown stain after minimal walking on the floor. I hope this stops soon. Other than that great floor and I would buy it again.

I have to wet clean this floor twice a day. I bought Bona for hardwood floors and the entire kit but the Bona seems to leave a film. [...] FYI, the color sticks do not work on this flooring. Beautiful floor, but exausting trying to keep it clean. The T-mold for this product is extremely expensive. I had it layed in the living room and kitchen. I do not recommend laying in the kitchen due to constant water spots and smugding. In the living room I had to lay an area rug so it wouldn't scratch anymore. [...]

My contractor installed the floor while I was on vacation, so I came back to a finished, beautiful floor. I love the finish, the color and the width of the planks. My particular installation is in a very large area (combination living room/dining room/ family room/ kitchen), so it is very dramatic. I couldn't have made a better choice.

My husband and I installed this floor about 8 months ago, and we love the color of the floor. It was also very easy to install. Between scraping the old carpet glue off, laying down underlayment, and laying down the floor we probably spent a few weekends and evenings getting it all laid down.

We are however very disappointed with it (not the look of it). If you have a dog I would strongly advise you NOT to purchase this floor. We have an 18 lb jack russell terrier, and everytime he runs fast across the floor he scratches it. So imagine how many scratches we have in our floor since about 8 months ago. Just looking at it for the first time, you wouldn't even notice the scratches, but my husband and I do notice it. We are thinking in about 3-5 years we are probably going to have to replace it. All that money and work down the drain. We are now thinking of getting a nice tile (marble / travertine) or hardwood floors (I'm going to look into this b/c I don't know if he would scratch this too) to prevent scratches.

Also, be prepared to sweep the floor every day because it shows dirt like you wouldn't believe, especially little white dog hairs.

I would only recommend this for someone that doesn't have dogs or kids.

The color and finish on the floor is beautiful. Be prepared to clean constantly. Floor scratches and dents very easily. In some areas where the floor sees water (kitchen), the floor is splitting with the grain of the bamboo!

We put this in the livingroom, low traffic area. When installing have a lot of patience and go slow. Our floor turned out beautiful. We are now going to install in our familyroom. Love the color, comments from friends and family were it looks so elegant. It took about 8 hrs to install in a room 13x13. Main thing is to go slow and carefully, does splinter easily.

Very easy to install. Looks amazing in our photo studio/office. I only have 2 complaints.

1) The floor shows every single speck of dirt or dust. I knew that dark floors would be difficult to keep clean but I guess I never realized how much dust gets on a floor through normal use that you just don't see. If you are a neat-freak I would not recommend a floor this dark.

2) I did not realize that all the pieces would be the same exact length. It's not necessarily a bad thing but it forces you to create a pattern rather than having a random/patternless layout as is typical of wood floors.

Overall, I am very happy with the floor and would recommend it for a low traffic area where there is not much dirt.

My husband and I picked this product after shopping for several months and we could not be happier with our choice. We had baseboards installed at the same time and anyone who enters our home compliments our beautiful floors. Even though it has scratches and is difficult to keep clean the beauty outweighs the challenges. Our home experiences heavy traffic with 4 kids and two dogs so it could be much worse. This product has held up very well given the traffic so we live with the flaws that have been created. We love our choice.

Great Product at a Great Price. Couldn't resist trying my hand at installing the flooring. Some key notes to keep in mind: when cross-cutting, make certain to have a sharp blade, as the bamboo has a tendency to splinter or leave behind loose strings & always cut from the show surface; the standard floor nailer worked ok with the L-Shaped nails, but a brad nailer at a 45 degree angle should work fine; be very careful not to drop or drag any tools, the surface dents easily, but does add 'character'. I will buy this product again. To the novice: make certain to ask all the questions to the guys at the shop, as they are very knowledgeable and helpful with tips.

A contractor installed this flooring in one day. The only thing that I would do differently is buy the trim at the same time that I bought the flooring. Now my office is waiting for my baseboard molding and saddle to be installed before I can get back to work!

We installed this in a livingroom addition. The deep dark woods look black during the day and warm and brown by night. The floor has scratched from wear and tear, like any other floor but are more prominent because of the dark color. We have found cleaning with a micro fiber mop and windex or water and vinger in a spray bottle is the easiest way to clean them. I am very happy with them.

I almost didn't purchase this product because of the reviews. After considerable savings due to purchasing from LL (and I received UPromise dollars) this floor was installed by a professional. It is simply stunning!!!! I have not had a scratch yet. It really is jaw-dropping. (I will add pics once my bathrooms cabinets have been installed!)

had it installed professionally. best way for me to clean is to spray it with cleaning solution and use the microfiber mop. Murphy's oil tends to leave a residue. i used very little in the spray bottle. high maintenence floor. cleaning the floor every other day with no kids. Careful in the kitchen area. the fridge left a huge dent in the floor so be careful with heavy objects. had no problem with scratches though. looks great.

My husband and I ripped out the carpets in all of the bedrooms and installed this stuff. I love love love the richness of the color. It really adds a wow factor. The only drawbacks are that we plan on making the house a rental (investment property) and I don't know how well this bamboo product will hold up. It does scratch and dent more easily than I would prefer. Every time something is dropped I cringe, but maybe its just because its brand new. I do recommend the product because its just gorgeous and if you take care of your floors properly, then there shouldn't be any problems.

This dark bambbo flooring is just gorgeous. The only thing I would say is a small downfall is the dark finish of this flooring shows scratches a little more than a floor that doesnt have a dark finish would. But well worth the risk of a scratch or two as pretty as it is

While we were installing the flooring it tended to scratch easily using the nail gun. We had to discard about 10 pieces because of the scratching. I do like the floor now that it is down. It looks great! Besides that problem, I would recommend this product. So far I have no other problems with scratches.

This was my first time buying flooring from Lumber liquidators, I was very happy with my decision.

The installed floor is very attractive and marks can be repaired easily with a black magic marker.

The only issue I had was the top coat finish would flake off if you did not hit the stapler square to the plank.

It can be repaired with a magic marker, but if you look really close you can notice that it has flaked.

The planks were very straight and consistent, and installed easily.

Over all I am very happy and I would purchase flooring form Lumber Liquidators again. I would even recommend this type of floor. I would just be careful installing it.

My husband and I installed this flooring in 4 rooms of our home. We are pretty handy but had never done wood flooring prior to this. It came out very well and it is beautiful. The only con that i have is that it shows dust easily but the swiffer duster that also vacuums keeps it looking great. The bamboo wood required that we change the blade on our mitre saw about every 7 boxes to keep the cuts smooth. The bamboo is hard/durable but it is also flexible and it worked very well on one of our rooms that had uneven floors. If you get deep scratches they can really show but a dark stain furniture marker conceals them pretty well.

It ended up that they guy we were going to borrow the nail from didn't support long enough nails. So instead we liquid nailed and hand nailed in the toungue and grove. It is never coming up lets put it that way. It is picture perect and I love the way it looks with our white trim. Our only concern is that when we went to go install the toilet one of the guys that was helping us had on a cast and it scratched the floor. It seems to scratch easily which is pretty noticable due to the dark color. As a benefit it can always be sanded and refinished so we aren't too worried about it. Since we do not yet have children time will only tell how long before we have to refinish it!

This wood as a slight reddish undertone. It looks almost black until sunlight hits it, then you can see the warmer undertone. We used it in our kitchen and love it. If you are a clean freak, beware that you can see every crumb that falls on this darker wood.
