I love the flooring but have found within one day the disadvantages of having a beautiful dark floor. It shows every little speck of lint, dust and etc. I have already gotten a couple of scratches on it and it has only been on the floor for two days.

After much research I pulled the trigger and purchased the Quig Kobra Strand Bamboo flooring. I have a 140 pound Newfounland and a miniature schnauzer. I needed a floor that could hold up to the claws of these dogs. With the strand bamboo being 116% harder than red oak I thought this would be a safe bet. I had the floor professionally installed and so far have not seen a scratch or dent in the flooring from the dogs.

We wanted a 'green' flooring that looked good and was very durable as we had 3 kids and 3 cats. L.L. had such a great selection of bamboo in various colors and styles. The manager (John) too the time to show us everything about bamboo including the process used to make it. He showed us the hardness chart comparing strand bamboo to other hard woods.
They were great. After it was installed we were a little concerned about it getting scratched but so far it looks great and even furniture moving hasn't damaged it. Great stuff!

I installed these floors in my master bedroom and I am about to install them in my daughters room. I used the elastilon for the install, which was easy as well as quicker compared to nailing or glueing the floors. They look great but they scratch easily and shows dust.

Like many other reviewers, we too, had to buy the Powernail gun for installing. There was no way to nail the boards down with any other kind of nail gun. It is an extrememely slow process to lay this floor so do not expect it to go down in one weekend. I love the way the floor looks but I haven't yet figured out how to keep it looking nice and clean. We have no pets, but two small children, and within minutes of mopping, the floors show footprints and every tiny piece of lint, dust, and dirt. It is crazy how much these floors show. Also we had several boxes of waste product due to the finish being incorrect. If you look at the board in the right light you can see the strand of the wood, which kind of looks like warping.

Only downside is how easily the dark color shows dust and dirt. We just have to keep it clean!

We laid 1100 sq. ft throughout our home. It is beautiful! Our best advice is use the right tools. Powernail flooring gun a must and a special saw blade. Floor is very hard but will scratch. We scratched it first day after completion moving the furniture back... Some grit got under one of the felt pads. Take your time, its worth it!

We are very pleased with the bamboo floor! We had it professionally installed and used Elastilon instead of the usual glue-down method (slab-on-grade condition). We highly recommend Elastilon for a mess-free installation!

Nice looking floor..hard to cut and nail down..asked the sales person if I could use my Bostich floor stapler to install flooring and he said they work great. After ruining multiple pieces of flooring I had to spend 500 to buy a special nail gun (powernail) to install the flooring. After that the install went fine. Looks good but I probably would have used a regular harwood and just stained it dark.

We bought this for a sunroom addition and it looks absolutely beautiful! I definitely recommend glueing rather than nailing, as others have mentioned. The color does show a lot of dust and dog hair, but we knew that when we purchased it-that's our fault, not the flooring's. Very happy with the purchase, especially laying the insulayment down first. Gorgeous!!

floors look great. however, i was not able to use an automatic nailer/stapler. i had to hand drill and nail each board myself. the material is VERY hard, which is good for a flooring, but bad for making easy instalation. i would probably hire someone to install it for me next time.

My husband and I went with this amazing bamboo flooring for approx 900 sq feet of our home, living room, kitchen, hallway, even our stairs and 2 landings! Its absolutely beautiful and exactly what we wanted!

So far so good (1 month into post install) and we have no scratches. Its a lot more durable then we first thought! We also have no kids or pets, so that helps to minimize the wear on it! :)

We had LL do the install and they glued the product to particle board...which I completely recommend! Our installers were happy we wanted to glue as well. Our stair treads got nailed down and if you look real close at them you can totally see the nail holes...which were elegantly covered up, but it just shows how strong of a wood it is!

BUT, we would totally choose this all over again! we love them! they are absolutely beautiful and completely up the level of elegance in our home by 10 fold! The strands in the product gives a potentially dark color just enough depth so it doesn't look like you have a solid dark floor.

Bravo for a fabulous product!!!

After an exhaustive search we had the Morningstar Qing Kobra product installedin our family room and heavy traffi areas in the house. We are very pleased with the look, feel and finish this product offers. With 3 kids and two large dogs we are not seeing the dents or scrathes noted in other posts. Any blemishes have been easily wiped away or corrected with a filler pen.
The install is hard, pay a pro if you can. Bamboo is extermely dense and cannot be laid like oak or laminate. For nail down applications you need a special nail head for your nailer, this will avoid the bent nails and drilling. We had to go with a glue down over concrete application. It helped to pay a few extra dollars and get the floor sealer and adhesive in one product. All dark wood floors will need extra cleaning, just deal with it. It is a great product, we are really pleased and thanks to the guys at our local office for being so knowledgeable. If your thinking about this product, just do it.

Looks great but shows skuffs from rubber shoe soles, pet hair, etc.

Have dropped several things on floor and not once did it affect the finish or leave dent.

Would highly recommend if you dont mind using the swiffer often.

Really like the color, exactly what the sample was. I would recommend installation by a professional. The wood is so hard it must be glued down. Trying 6 different nailers from 18-22 gauge pins/ staples all left 'mosquito bites' when the light hit it just right...so we glued it.

Just for kicks I took a piece and soaked it in a bucket of water, after 3 hours of total submersion the only part that was absorbing water was the cut end.

We actually installed this product on the ceiling of our basement family room. It looks amazing was was incredible easy to install with a pneumatic finish nailer and a rubber mallet. We've installed other 3/4" oak flooring and would have never considered that type of product for this particular application. The bamboo is durable and yet light-weight enough that it was easy to handle and put on the ceiling!

We installed this flooring in our kitchen, dining room, and foyer. It was not too dificult to install especially because I have never installed any floor coverings before. I would say we LOVE the look and appearance but the fact that we can dent / scratch it when dropping our keys on it makes us uneasy. We have two kids and no pets but we definately would reconsider it we knew this would happen.

I work in a mechanical trade and have a friend who helped me install this stranded bamboo (and he has done his fair share of flooring for his family). Point being we were prepared for this type of work even though it was a "do it yourself" project.

My wife loved the looks of the floor, so we went with this bamboo floor for our upstairs.

Now that we're finally finished, we do love the looks of the floor, however, it does scratch far eaiser than you might suspect.

Forget the stain someone will give you to cover up scratches, we've found with this floor, a black marker works the best (rub the ink after you apply it to the scratch).

Wood is also "super hard" and not very forgiving to work with. For the "corner round" I had to use a drill with finishing nails because the nailer would be "hit or miss" (have to be VERY careful on your angles, not forgiving in the least). Better have a new saw blade as well or you may find the wood will splinter.

For the floor nailer, had to bump up the PSI to get the staples to sink. Because this flooring is so "strong", easy to get some buckles if you are not VERY careful.

As I mentioned, love the looks, but if you're going to do this yourself, I highly suggest you look at another brand of wood that is far eaiser to work with.

We have two more rooms to do, and we will not be going with bamboo again (my wife is even in agreement LOL)

Well, first the good parts -- the product looks amazing, and is pretty much impossible to mess up. Since we were installing in a kitchen, we wanted something super durable, and this bamboo is certainly that. The finished install looks great with our stainless steel appliances.

Now for the downsides. We hired a professional installer with over 50 5-star reviews on an independent site. He said after he had finished that he had never in his life worked with a product that was so difficult to install. It took his team an additional 10 hours to complete the installation, and this was for a 200 sqft room! His pneumatic nailer was having a hard time punching nails through the product, and he had to resort to pre-drilling holes. He showed me a few nails that had warped around like an S when he tried to fire them through, and he was using 130 PSI!! Unfortunately, you can see in a few spots where the wood is actually bubbling up from the nails

In addition, much of the product that I bought was damaged in the box. I had to go back to LL to get more product. Luckily they had some open box stuff they could give me and that was enough to finish the product. However, I would say that the standard 10% waste is probably not enough using this product, and you may need as much as 20%. At my LL this was a special order, so you could really be in a bind if you end up needing more wood, and they don't have anything in stock. Probably better to order more than you might need and eat a restocking fee on unopened boxes if it comes down to that.

So long story short -- if you can deal with the difficult installation, this product will look gorgeous and will be extremely durable.

The floor is in our basement office, so far. As we finish the rest of the basement we will be installing the same floor. We love this floor. We have a baby and two dogs and it still looks awesome. The install was easy. You just have to get the hang of it after a few rows and its a cinch. I would suggest laying 3 rows at a time because its easier to apply the glue. 3 rows is the exact same width as the trawl. As for Lumber Liquidators, they were very helpful and knowledgeable but WAY understaffed. They loose alot of business because people are tired of waiting a half an hour or more. Overall great. Most of important we love our floor and its beautiful!

After selecting the Koa for the rest of the house, we choose this wood for a step down family room. It is a beautiful floor. I would have loved to have this in every room, but the dark color does show every speck of dust, so I knew I couldn't deal with it. But according to the installers it was very easy to install, very little waste and very durable. We love the wood and we did not see this quality at this price anywhere else.

This bamboo looks beautiful and I love the way it looks in the house. The downfall of this product is that it's really soft and gets damaged very easily. I took extra care and laid cardboard on top of the floor when I finished my kitchen remodel. Moving the refrigerator left some deep marks on the floor, it was unavoidable. I have to be careful not to drop things on the floor because it will leave a mark. The curtain rod fell and left a very deep and large gouge.

I had the wood professionally installed - glue down. It is very rich, lustrous, and elegant. I love the product and hope that it wears as well as it looks! Only time will tell.

This is incredible bamboo. I was hesitant to order this type of flooring because of how easily bamboo scratches and dents. However, I was told that "Strand" bamboo is extremely durable. I couldn't be happier with this flooring. It looks amazing and it is extremely hard. This is a new product to LL,[...]. But it was well worth it. Households with pets and/or children should definitely consider this product because of its amazing durability. And the finish is simply beautiful, too. Even the installer (who's been installing hw floors for over 15 years) was amazed at how awesome this product was.

I love the consistent quality and finish of the product but we had problems avoiding raised spots where the pneumatic nailer was used. We tried many different air pressures and angles to mitigate the problem finally resorting to drilling and manual finish nailing for the last few rows.
