Great color but it's a pain to maintain, prone to show dust. Very very very easy to get scratch mark and hard to repair scratch. Also, surface is brittle and will show chip mark if you dropped a spoon .. sigh .. should go for solid hardwood.

We had the Qing Spider Bamboo installed in the kitchen of our century home. It is stunning! The installer said installation went very well--no problems--and the finished product shows. The only issue is that I know it will easily show dust and our dog's white fur, but I knew that was a risk prior to purchasing it. It's still worth the clean-up!

Black floors! Be ready for EVERY piece to dust and dirt to stand out. Need to vaccuum every day. Looks great, stronger and more durable than most bamboo flooring. Have black pen ready because it will scratch and it will show.

Installed approx. 500 sq. ft. in a studio and subsequent bedroom using Qing Spyder for the field and Tiger Strand for borders/knots. Pretty unforgiving product. Any cuts chip the finish and require edge dressing of the pieces in question. Incredibly hard and dense; wreaks havoc on saw blades and router bits. Despite these minor difficulties, the finished floors are gorgeous.

I recently installed this in the entry way, Dining Room and hallway of my home. It's beauty is remarkable and really sets a dramatic tone in the house. Against our light-grey walls it creates a very nice cool tone which is just what we were going for.

The floor installed very easily, just make sure you use the tapping block to ensure all the joints are tight. The satin finish looks great and is easy to clean. I didn't have the scratching issues as others have noted.

Because I had painted the previous concrete subfloor I had to install with Elastilon. Once you get it going it went down very quickly and easily. The Elastilon is a great product and I would highly recommend this to others. It was easy to use, no extra tools required and you can walk on the floor instantly! Overall, we are extremely happy with LL, the floor and the Elastilon.

We had this flooring professionally installed. After watching the guys at work, I'm thankful I did not attempt the work myself. Might be fine for small spaces but we covered the entire downstairs with it, including kitchen and bathroom. It looked like A LOT of work. Gorgeous for sure, but definitely scratches easily. Might be better if you already have area rugs to put in place. Make sure you have good protection on chairs or heavy items (couches, tables, etc) so when moving you avoid the scratching. Small vacuum for hardwoods and wet/dry swiffer do the trick for cleaning. ENJOY!

I just finished installing 1,000 sq ft of Morning Star Qing Spyder Strand Bamboo and the flooring turned out very well. I'm a beginner at floor installs (this was my first large flooring project that I tackled). I nailed the boards with the Powernail 50P with 1.5" cleats. I cut the boards with a Dewalt DW713 miter saw and ripped them with a Ryobi 15 amp table saw. The whole project took me over a month and it was hard work. My recommendation is to go with the flush-mounted floor vents to complete the look.

Just finished installing 500 feet in the master bedroom and closets. I never installed wood flooring before this project but I would only rate the installation at a 5 on a scale of 1-10. No matter how clean you are while working, the job will go quicker as soon as you realize that there will be glue that either drips on the new floor or comes from your hand. Don't panic, the glue remover Lumber Liquidator sells is amazing. I can't stress enough not to rely on the trowel attachment that came with the glue. It is cheap and will break within 10 minutes. Save yourself the pain and buy a notched trowel. I glued my floor down on concrete and it was easy to do. The glue is thick and sticky but it gives you a great amount of time to work with it. Also, save yourself time and use lots of the blue painters tape to keep the joints together until the floor sets. I must have used 200 pieces on 500 square feet. Well worth it.
It took me 2 full days with 2 people helping for the job. Get ready to have a sore back but other than that, the look and feel is worth it. The floor is amazing and gives the room a rich look to it. It is the focal point of the room already.

The floor looks beautiful once it is completed, but then you look at it the wrong way and it scratches!I wish it was more durable especially since I paid [$] per sq ft. My $0.78 per sq ft is more durable than the bamboo.

The floor itself was not too difficult to install. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS for installing this product and you should do fine. I've never installed a hardwood floor before in my life and I think the floor turned out very well. We had to tear out the particle board underlayment and replace it with OSB, but it was well worth it seeing as how gross it was when we pulled it up.

You will need a speciality nailer with 18 gauge cleats/nails. These are designed for extremely hardwoods and are designed to not split the tounge. Keep this in mind when pricing for this floor if you are installing it.

The bamboo is extremely hard, so make sure you have a good miter saw to make your cuts. A cheap one won't put out enough to make the cuts easy/straight.

Despite the hard surface, the floor will scratch if you have any metal tool laying around. The floor nailers feet will scratch it if you catch it just right. But normal day wear and tear seem to be ok, we've walked over it quite a bit with shoes on during the installation and it still looks good when you dust/moist mop it. We don't live near sand, so I can't say how it holds up to that.

The flooring itself is VERY dark and can look black in poorly lit areas - but the display in the store shows this as well. There is a faint odor with the product when you first open the box, but it goes away after a short while.

All in all, we did roughly 1100 square feet and it was a lot of work (7 days total) but it turned out worth it.

This a very good looking product and I'm sure it will hold up well for years to come. The only thing I didn't like about the installation was the fact that it's 5/8 of an inch thick, and I had to fix all of my door frames for it to look right.
