This floor turned out great. Originally we were concerned that it would be too drastic of a change, but in the end we love it. Our home is geared to be more modern and this floor fits in perfectly.

Be sure to remove any plastic nailed in gliders from the bottom surfaces of your furniture and put a thick felt pad on the entire surface that will touch the floor before placing furniture back in place in the room. Do not just felt the bottom of the plastic gliders.

Looks great and is withstanding our 75 and 105lb dogs fine so far. no visable scratching! Very heavy dense material.

We had it professionally installed and glued down. The installer indicated it is some of the densest material he has worked with. I would have installed it but did not want to deal with all of the cuts for this installation.

We put the Golden Zebra Strand in our Den. I was impressed with the quality of the product which made for easy installation and a beautiful finished product! I have already had a number of compliments on the floor and I would definately recommend this flooring to a friend!

We installed this floor throughout our first floor living and dining areas in a day. Installation was a breeze (we had very little waste) and the floor looks better than we had anticipated! I highly recommend this flooring. We have small children and pets, and couldn't be more pleased with the durability.

I chose Golden Zebra Strand Bamboo for my kitchen and dining room. We installed it over a long weekend, and it looks beautiful. We did find a couple of problems. First, the board length wasn't consistent. There was up to a 1/2 inch of variability in the length of the boards, which we didn't discover until we were halfway through the room, and the seams didn't match up. The second is the lack of good transition types. The reducers and thresholds offered do not work for our needs, and we still haven't figured out the solution.
We'd use them again, but would have planned differently if we'd known those key points.

very impressed with the product. very durable and scratch resistant. We have a BIG dog and cats and no problem. Beautiful color, look and finish. installer from Lumber Liquidators did a great job. would recommend him. Great investment as we will not have to replace this again. No more carpet. Great for our allergies.

We love the flooring. Have you ever read "If you give a mouse a cookie?" well, if you get new floors, you're going to need to paint, then you'll need new curtains, etc. etc.

The transition pieces do not match as well as i would like, overall color is good but not the zebra variations.

Bought 10% more than my square footage and didn't make any errors in the cuts to I had some left over. Was so taken with the product that I've bought more for one of the bedrooms. The floor looks "outstanding" and my wife couldn't be more pleased with the appearance. Only drawback is that the finish does seem to scratch easy but it also can be cleared up with a touch-up of gloss verathane, unless the scratch is too deep - then you have a problem.

I did find out that when cutting this product you get the best and smoothest cut with a blade that has less teeth. Blades with 60 teeth and above tend to burn through because the wood is so hard, they also leave a little raised edge. other than that no problems.

Don't shy away from this product due to the lack of reviews based on the other stranded floor (tiger). This is exactly like that but with warmer color variations in my opinion. Recently installed 245 sq. ft. in master bedroom and closets, concrete slab on grade. Most difficult part was removing the old paint from the conc. slab when the house was built. Slab was previously sealed but that wasn't a concern as we glued using the 2 & 1 Mapei ECO 995 glue.

Tips:

I let the flooring acclimate for a week.

lay the first 3 to 4 rows and let them set up for 12 to 18 hours. These set rows will then become your "anchor" to push the rest of the flooring up tight against. With the glue and expansion area needed you can easily end up with the whole thing sliding around and getting out of square.

Do 4 rows max at a time, then push and tape (both length and width) these rows to the previous row. This is where having the first 3 set rows comes into play as they become the anchor.

If you have glue that gets pushed up between the joints don't worry. Get as much up as you can with mineral spirits while it's wet though. After it's dry you can use a hobby knife with a No. 11 blade to trim the dried glue and then use the mineral spirits again and it'll all be gone. Yes this is tedious but it works.

Order a minimum of 20% extra wood over your ACTUAL square footage. You WILL make errors in your cuts.
