I had problems getting the concrete floor absolutely level. Once that was okay, the installation was easy. Also had a problem after I took the spacers out to put the trim back on... had some separation of joints around the perimeter... not much, but was more than I thought it would be. I put polyurethane over the whole floor after it was finished to seal the seams. Even the satin finish was pretty shiny. Don't do it if you want a matte finish.
Comments about Lisbon Cork Dali Cork:
I love the look and feel of my new Dali Lisbon cork floor. It was straight forward to install. I couldn't believe how fast it went in. Only issue to watch: There was a bit of color variation in the planks, some quite a bit lighter than others. Without the furniture on the floor, the variation is pretty obvious if you happen to get one of the light ones right next to dark ones, however I think it will blend in better once the furniture is in the room. I thought I laid them out well enough in advance to avoid stark contrasts but apparently missed a few. So I do recommend taking time to lay out a couple of rows to be sure you don't get a light one stuck in the middle of darker ones. Overall though the floor is fanstatic and I am looking for where I can my next one. It is a great product.
Comments about Lisbon Cork Dali Cork:
Product came in as expected and in good condition. No damage. Installed in kitchen with 3 coats of polyurethane to seal seams. Looks good, Recommend that you follow instructions about taking product from several cartons for color match. Product is not as hard as regular hardwood flooring. Will see how it wears??
Comments about Lisbon Cork Dali Cork:
this floor came out great. Looks nice. I didn't have any issues with color variance. I even had to order one more extra box because I made a mistake which was my fault and still had no color variance issue. If I hadn't ordered the extra box I would have had under 5% waste easy. I didn't think it was that difficult to install. You do need a tap block but compared to other flooring I've installed this was on the easier side. Plus the boards are 1 x 3 so it goes quick.
I haven't had any issues with durability. It's been solid. I didn't use it in a high traffic area though so I can't comment on how it would do in a kitchen or living room. I am considering installing in both though based on how well it can out.
Comments about Lisbon Cork Dali Cork:
Floor installs easily once you get the hang of it.
Softer than I thought it would be.
Nice "feel" to the floor.
With the Insulayment and the Cork, the floors should stay quieter, warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.
Not as slick as I thought it would be - which is a good thing.
Really happy with the order process and the assistance when I went to pick it up.
All cork flooring was in excellent condition when the boxes were opened.
Too bad this cork floor never goes on sale, or maybe that is a good thing as this would be in short supply.
Comments about Lisbon Cork Dali Cork:
I love the look of this product but installation was extremely difficult. The tongue and groove system did not lock into place as it was supposed to. The tiles needed to be tapped in with a mallet, not simply pushed into placed as advertised. The end result looks good but be prepared for a difficult installation. At least that was our experience.
Comments about Lisbon Cork Dali Cork:
This is a great floor that is easy to install. Don't be stingy with the sealer, apply it generously and definately give it three coats.
Comments about Lisbon Cork Dali Cork:
Remove all 'buttons' from bottoms of furniture and replace with felt pads, protect floor from larger pieces like a bed with cutout pads of leftover cork flooring or all these will leave marks in the flooring as it is soft.

We installed Dali cork floors in our 3 bedrooms, one of which I use as my yoga room. It's a great floor for yoga! We have large dogs, and have seen no evidence of toenail scratches at all. It's easily maintained, and a joy to walk on when the winter mornings are cold.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Dali Cork:
We installed Dali Cork planks in our complete kitchen remodel in 2009. Two-plus years later it still looks great. Every single person who sees our kitchen is taken aback by the beauty and uniqueness of our floor. We have two teenagers and an active lifestyle. We don't own a dog and I'm not sure if their claws would have any effect on the finish, but I doubt it.
For installation you should definitely get the $15 installation kit. (They might just give it to you if you ask.) It comes with a special tool which makes the job go a lot easier, and really, I can't imagine putting in some of those planks without it. Lay your planks lengthwise with your room for best effect. Plan carefully, measure TWICE, and BE SURE you're cutting the correct side or end of the plank. Attention to this detail may save you from the fru$trating realization that you've wa$ted vitally needed plank$.
The click-lock system works quite well and it's very satisfying to hear the "click". Our kitchen is fairly large (not huge) and it took us about a day and a half to install. We were complete newcomers to the process so the learning curve was steep, but doable for my handy husband.
The finish that comes on this product is fairly thin and since we installed this in a kitchen, we opted for an additional finish which I applied with a foam brush. I decided to use Safecoat Polyureseal BP satin finish from naturalabode. This sealant has very low VOC and low odor. I bought a gallon figuring that three coats on this large kitchen floor would take a lot of sealant. Wrong. A little goes a long way, my friends. I think I have about a half gallon or more left over. I'll save it for a time when I think I need to refresh the look. The sealant completely sealed all the seams between planks.
After you finish installation of your cork floor DON'T WALK ON IT A LOT BEFORE APPLYING A FINISH. The more you walk on it the more dust, dirt, and stray hairs will fall on the floor. Here's the order of operation: Put the cat or dog outside. Get a babysitter to watch Timmy or Suzie while you work uninterrupted. Next, brush your hair and shake or pull out any stray hairs. You might even want to use a hairnet. I say this because every once in a while I still notice the two long hairs stuck in my finish. Next, your best bet is to wipe down the newly installed floor with a lightly dampened terrycloth towel. The terrycloth shouldn't leave any fuzz behind. Apply your chosen finish according to directions. Work quickly, carefully, and look out for bubbles. I used three coats which went on easily and I'm still very satisfied. It looked unbelievably beautiful when it was first finished. After a while the finished dulled a bit with regular use and traffic. I must say, though, it didn't dull nearly as much as I thought it would. There are a couple scratches, but nothing major and as I said we live an active life. My 180 pound husband walks on the floor with his bicycle-clip shoes and they don't leave a mark. Just in case, however, I don't walk in the kitchen in high heels. In two years we've dropped a couple heavy cans and such which have made small dents and marks. The cans have to land right on a corner before making a dent, so I'm actually impressed with the floor's durability. Remember that any wood floor will mar in certain situations, scratches will always happen, and every wood floor will tell a story after years of use. It's okay. It's expected. It's why you chose a natural surface for your home. Don't yell at the kids or spouse too much. By the way, I always intended to touch up the few small dents and scratches with extra finish, but never have gotten around to it. So far, though, there hasn't been any issue. There's been no water damage or discoloration in those areas at all. The entire floor has darkened a tiny bit with time and light, but so has all the wood in my new kitchen.
Cork is an affordable, friendly, unique product. We have no regrets in using it. We'd use it again in a kitchen; a bedroom would be neat, too. I have no knowledge about how cork would respond to heavy furniture or chairs moving back and forth as in a dining room, though. Choose what you believe is right for you and don't have any regrets. Life is an adventure!
I purchased directly from the store in Spokane. The store itself is out in the boonies. However they were very helpful, gave me the installation kit free of charge, and the product was flawless.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Dali Cork:
I used the Dali cork in a spare bedroom, the flooring is beautiful, super easy to cut even notch outs, super easy install. It does not scratch quite as easy as I had anticipated based on other reviews. I did want it to look very close to original so being a spare bedroom I only had 1 coat of poly applied not the recommended 3. I had a painter come in and do it as I an terrible at Poly. I bought a good quality floor grade Poly and good lambs wool applicator, dont skimp here! floor looks perfect no streaks at all and the poly did not change the color, just added a little shine, seems to have coated everything well. I would do the full 3 coats if this were in a room where it could get wet or has high traffic. However I would not use cork in a Bathroom or entry way.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Dali Cork:
Love the floor. It's warm and unique. I am disappointed with the recommended three coats of clear varnish I had to apply over it since it's in a bathroom. It takes some of the warmth away and even using a lambswool applicator it shows streaks. The floor itself is amazing. Easy to assemble.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Dali Cork:
I had installed 700 sq ft of Wicanders cork at my last house. We loved it and decided to install 1,100 sq ft of this Lisbon cork in our current house in the kitchen, eating area, family room and living room. Because I had so much to lay (and not much time) I hired a pro to help me. I'm very glad I hired the pro because he had some great tapping blocks and new several tips and tricks to make it go faster and do an excellent job. After the install I put 3 coats of really expensive Bona poly on it. The floor looks amazing. We have a dog and she has already scratched it several places where she tried to start chasing one of our kids. I expect the floor to hold up very well (based on our last house) and we love the functionality of cork....warmer, quieter, softer, seamless, cheaper than hardwood.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Dali Cork:
Gorgeous floor, but note that the color varies *wildly.* My contractor followed the directions on the box and opened up all the boxes and mixed up the tiles. The result was a cartoonish checkerboard appearance--not the look I was going for. So we're pulling the floor up and re-doing it in a gradient, and hiding the worst mis-matches under the cabinetry. If you're doing a large area and need a uniform appearance, plan on buying quite a bit more than you need.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Dali Cork:
- love the look and feel (easy on the feet even in the kitchen!)
- use felt protectors for furniture feet to protect from scratching/wear.
- we did 4 additional coatings of water-based polyurethane to provide scratch protection and extra-waterproofing.
- sounds hollow like Pergo
- Not good for absorbing sound (probably because of the coating).
- Delivery was on time; had to ship from east coast so took a few weeks.
- Arrived in good condition.
- no issues with installation

Comments about Lisbon Cork Dali Cork:
Simple to install and I have never done this before. Tapping block and pull bar are a must. Don't let the block slip up the edge as you hit it or you will wreck the cork. Rookie mistake easily fixed. The finished floor also needs 2-3 layers of a water based polyurethane to seal the edges of each tile. Very easy. Now I'm looking for other rooms to finish.

My wife wanted an attractive floor that offered comfort during long periods of time standing while cooking. We both love the floor. It was easy to install (I had never installed a floor before). It also hides messes well. It is a little on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for. We would highly recommend Dali cork flooring.

I love the look of my bathroom floor. The variations in the flooring make it look more like an exotic wood than cork. When I think about cork, I think of a cork bullitin board. This is anything but, and so beautiful.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Dali Cork:
I used Dali Cork in the Kitchen. It is great to walk on; having a soft, warm feel. It makes cooking more relaxing because of the comfort that is felt. However, it can easily get divots when moving heavy appliances on it. I tried using the sliders, but they had a difficult time sliding and one end of the fridge came off and made a divot in the floor.

We used this floor in our kitchen remodel and we just love it. Whenever people come in they comment on how beautiful the floor is and cannot believe that it is cork. It's very unique, eco-friendly, and very soft to walk on. So far maintenance has been easy but we have only been using the kitchen for three weeks. We just love the floor and it's one of the most beautiful things about our kitchen. We would absolutely recommend using this product. We did have professional installation through our contractor and they said it was pretty easy.

I purchased this flooring product when visiting your warehouse showroom. I thought it was absolutely gorgeous. For my project I needed appx 25 sq. ft. and the minimum purchase was 2 cartons (overage of 15 sq. ft.). I felt this was too much waste, so I returned it to the store. [...] SSI do intend to check out the store again when I begin another flooring project.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Dali Cork:
It's beautiful!!
At first when we painted on the urethane with a brush you could see the dry spots and brush marks and when it dried and looked awful. So we roughed up it a little with a light scratcher pad just enough take off the shine then wiped it down with a damp cloth and waited a 1/2 hour while we went to a cleaning supply store and bought a 18" lambs wool applicator pad (used for liquid wax) we dipped the applicator into the urethane until the pad was soaked. Then we lightly scraped off all the excess urethane on the side of the pan so it wouldn't drip. We then spread it on in full lenghth straight lines, it seemed to spread a little thick at first but dried clear with perfect coverage in about 2-3 hours.
I did notice when the refrigerator was pulled out to put in the moldings that the cork had indented alittle. So be careful about where you place heavy objects and I'd be careful about walking on it with high heels. The rest of our house is hardwood floors so everyone takes their shoes off.
It's very quiet to walk on, our underfloor was pretty level so we don't have any clackyness like some have said. It's so soft to the touch too, feels like butter on your bare feet!
Dali Cork is a medium dark color but the photo's appear darker than it actually is.
We bought this at the store, they had it in stock and we just took it home. We took it out of the box and let it set in our home for a few days to make sure it was acclimated.

We installed cork flooring in our main floor bath. It did not snap together as easily as laminate flooring, but after working the pieces some, the seam pretty much disappeared. Comments about Lisbon Cork Dali Cork:
Love the floor but after reading other reviews thought I would definitely be able to install it myself. However, after spending a very frustrating 6 hours at it I found that every time I tried to put in the 2nd/3rd rows it caused earlier rows to shift and gaps to appear.[...] Watched them install it, and really seems that you really need 2 people minimum to hold pieces in place as they 'click' together. Also, the installers installed it by first tapping together the short ends and then installing entire row along thelong end (complete opposite of approach that the directions recommended).Cost me around $300 to have it professionally installed in the one bedroom but boy was it worth it.

This was an easy install, even though I had many corners and closet door walls to work around. I installed this in the basement and lost the chill that existed from the concrete walls and floor. I used a vapor barrier that had a thin roofing felt on it to keep humidity from wicking up. I also used the excess from each room to finish the storm shelter.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Dali Cork:
Floor looks great...but just a reminder that this is still a floating floor. So even though it is suppose to be softer than most hard floors and help deaden some of the sounds in a room, it still has some of the clickity-clackness of laminate. We installed it in our kitchen, pantry, and laundry room. Once finished, I applied 3 coats of water-based polyurethane...that's what really gives it that shiny/fancy look. We just finished installing this weekend so I can't speak to the wear/tear/durablity yet. Don't forget to get a plank puller...you really need that or a tapping block to get the planks locked together.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Dali Cork:
Put the product in my bathroom. Installation is simple and quick. Entire room (45 sq ft) done in a couple hours.
Trick is to snap boards together and then use a small board and lightly tap the boards to make sure they lock. If you do not have them locked tightly, the boards will not sit flat on the floor.
Be careful when handling the boards. If you bump the corners, they chip easily.
Also make sure to put several coats of polyurethane after installation. When applying the poly, be sure to check to any bristles on the floor. I did not and found about 10 hardened bristles the next day. Cannot really get rid of the bristle lines after the fact.

I was looking for a unique surface for the top of my bar and saw the lisbon cork Dali design. I went ot the local lumber liquidators store and looked in person and fell in love with the design. It, to me, looks like a burrled walnut and you cant beat that for the price. Soft cork absorbs impacts and dropped glasses, when sealed with Polyurathane its pretty waterproof.
Pieces fit together pretty good but seams are noticeable. Picture is of unfinished bar there will be a brass foot rail and a Dali cork kick saver along the foot rail.
You cant beat lumber liquidators for service quality and o'ya PRICE!

Great looking product, cuts easily, wonderful fit & finish. Installed in main hallway, home office and 3 bedrooms, replacing all carpet.
THE CATCH: Does not like to slide together easily with the cork backing/underlayment that is attached. Use the plastic wrap from a carton or garbage bag under each piece, then pullout after click-locked together. Makes the installation much easier.
This is not what I had orginally ordered. I had ordered a close-out floating cork floor. After a 2 week wait we were told the close-out was all gone. Lumber Liquidators sold me all of the Lisbon Dali cork I needed at the close-out price!! NOW THAT IS GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

Comments about Lisbon Cork Dali Cork:
You will love this floor, trust me! I debated on wood laminate floor and the cork floating floor, and everybody and their brother has wood laminate, so I went with the cork which I loved the pattern from the getgo. I've been looking into doing this project for at least 6 months. Also, wood laminate,I don't think you can seal it after installing or it voids the warranty, where as cork recommends it. Plus, we already have natural wood floors throughout the house, so I thought the wood laminate would look cheap compared to the rest of the house. We installed it in the kitchen and I wanted something I could seal in case of spills. Now the installation, my husband and I weren't crazy about. Since it was the kitchen, there were a lot of small areas and cutting for baseboard heat & 3 seperate doorways. If it had been in the bedroom or a more square area, I'm sure it would've been easier to install. We used a circular saw, a jigsaw, a floor kit, and a flush pull saw(for doorway frames). When you go to hit the block, etc. to interlock the pieces, be careful, it is pretty easy to damage the cork edge if it happens to slip off. You'll be fine as long as you estimate in extra for goofs. Once you do interlock them, they are truly seamless in appearance, very nice! I swept, vacuumed and tack clothed the floor before applying the water based polyurethane. I went to [...] and bought a gallon of matte finish (I saw gloss finish shows the stroke marks more than the matte finish) with the applicator they recommended and bought a cheap long wooden handle that screws into the applicator, also a plastic wallpaper tray to pour the poly into. I applied 4 coats total to the floor and it took about 2 hours or less between coats to dry, no need to sand the floor before applying it or in between coats if you're apply the coats within 24 hours. Rinse the tray and the applicator between coats. I have a good bit of the poly leftover and I figured I'll keep it for touchups down the road if needed. The floor looks and feels great underfoot! Do buy the felt cushions for under ANYTHING that contacts the floor, they're worth it. I wasn't sure if the Dali was too dark, but it doesn't show dirt, it camouflages it, lol. Cat food tidbits? Where? I don't see any. We have 2 children (6 & 9) and a cat w/ all claws, it still shines nicely. The compliments just keep coming, everyone that sees it, even men, are impressed w/ it and they ask, "This is cork?!". I really hope this review helps you out on some of the questions I had before installing mine. Bottom line is, I personally found it a pain to install, but man oh man was it worth it...absolutely! You won't be disappointed.

I used it in our great room, dining, and hallway; it totaled around 600sqft. Just as I read. Once you get the hang of it, it's very simple to install. Comments about Lisbon Cork Dali Cork:
We live in the dusty country, and tore out the carpet in our living room and installed the Dali cork. It is absolutely beautiful, and wasn't hard to install once we got the hang of it. BE CAREFUL with tapping block and pull bar - it will muck it up pretty bad if the tongue/groove isn't right on. We learned that the hard way. We've had it down for 3 weeks, and surprisingly, our 3 German Shepherds haven't even scratched the finish. We were worried about that. Dust shows a lot on the dark color, but that's a daily battle for us anyway. LOVE this cork!!
