Comments about Lisbon Cork Van Gogh Cork:

This product was easy to install, we used plastic mats that go under office furniture to put the kitchen appliances on to keep from scratching or denting the floor. Use a tap bar and rubber mallet and make sure the ends are flush, the product is so light that the end tends to raise up a 1/4 of an inch or distort. We finished w/three coats of water poly and are very pleased with the results...

Overall, we are very happy with the floor & the installation process. Be sure to check the locking grooves. If a piece of material gets in, it can stop them from locking together tightly.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Van Gogh Cork:

We installed cork in our bedrooms and dining room 5 years ago. The finish has held up wonderfully (2 coats of poly). We wanted a durable, flexible product that was easy to clean for our 4 boys. They love having the hard surface for legos, car tracks, spinning tops, and ball play. The one thing no one told us about cork is that it can not handle water at all. When it gets wet and slowly dries, first the floor will buckle (bubble up)for a few months. Then it will shrink. We had quarter inch gaps between the boards 2 years after they were subjected to water from an a/c overflow problem in one bedroom. Thankfully, when the problem happens on the edge of the room, it is a simple process to get more flooring (because it still matches!) and r & r the affected area.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Van Gogh Cork:

I love this flooring! It is beautiful, hides dust and dirt, muffles noise better than hardwood, and is super easy to clean; I would never install wall to wall carpeting again.

However, I have a dog and if she gets too excited in the house her nails do leave scratches. They aren't very noticable to the eye, but you can find them easily in bare feet. Otherwise I would give this product 5 stars.

I love these floors, and everyone comments on how great they look. I picked them for my kitchen because they're easy on my feet / knees and look great against my wood floor. The big sweeping pattern of the Van Gogh makes it really hard to see the seams where the planks join, so that's nice too!

Comments about Lisbon Cork Van Gogh Cork:

We installed this cork on the angled portion of the ceiling in a family room that had part flat and part cathedral ceiling. Van Gogh cork provides a beautiful color and softening of the large ceiling expanse.

While this product is normally installed as a floating floor - installation on the ceiling was easy with Liquid Nails and a brad gun.

We got the idea from one of the recent HGTV Dream Homes where they used cork extensively on walls and ceilings.

Service & Delivery comments:

We had it delivered to the local store to avoid delivery charges. It arrived earlier than estimated and the local store staff were very courteous and efficient getting it loaded into the truck.

We did our master bedroom (200+ sqft)in one afternoon. We sealed it the next day. LOVE IT. We have two large dogs; if the cork is scratched, we can't tell. The dogs hate my brother's laminate flooring, but don't mind this at all. It's easy to clean, too. It's a nice compromise between carpet and hardwood. It's not cold and is kind of "squishy". Watch out, things bounce when dropped.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Van Gogh Cork:

Overall I am happy with the floor but I am upset at how easily it dents. What started out as a few week project turned into months, because once we pulled up the carpet we found out the subfloor was completely unlevel. After weeks of relevelling all of the joists and putting the sub floor back, installing the cork was a breeze. It took less than a day and then we added 2 coats of Bona Traffic urethane. Using the recommended "T bar" applicator, the urethane was quite challenging to install for a first timer, especially trying to get out of the door on the side of the room.

The finished result looks great and feels great under foot. The issue I have was right from the start when we had a new couch delivered. It was put on the floor with no feet pads and immediately left permanent dents in the floor. Even the ottoman, which is very light with no weight on it left permanent marks. You have to be extremely careful with anything you put on the floor. Even with pads, feet on any furniture need to be large and flat or there will be a mark. We are now very careful but additional dents keep appearing. Also, I thought that cork is supposed to "repair" itself over time. This is not the case for us. The marks have never come out. My theory is that the Bona Traffic, which is a great, strong finish, may be too strong/stiff to allow the floor to bounce back.

In summary, I recommend the floor but you need to take special care with any objects you put on it.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Van Gogh Cork:

I had the cork installed 4 yrs ago in my living/ dining room. The area gets quite a bit of traffic from myself and my 3 dogs. A few months ago I noticed that the "natural cork" looking scratches were actually more like deep grooves, and in some places the cork crumbled off. The floor is starting to look pretty cheap and worn, after just 4 years.

I love the feel and look of cork, but this isn't holding up in my house...As with most natural floors, sunlight will discolor the floor as well.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Van Gogh Cork:

My husband and I installed this in our bathroom about 6 months ago. It's a small bathroom that required about 15 tiles so we managed to get the job done in about 4 hours. We finished by applying 2 layers of water-based clear protective finish which looks great. We are considering refinishing already because we have cats and they have managed to add quite a few dents and dings with their claws. I love the flooring but would NOT recommend it for even moderate traffic areas or areas where pets, children, high heels, etc may be present or there is a possibility of a heavy object being dropped, such as in a kitchen. However I have found it's easy to touch up flaws with a Prismacolor marker and overall the floors look fantastic and garner many compliments. Cork also feels great underfoot. It doesn't get nearly as cold as tile and has a slight spring to it for support which is nice when stepping out of a shower.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Van Gogh Cork:

We installed this 3.5 years ago and couldn't be happier. Like wood, it has bleached to some degree in areas of direct sunlight. However, the pattern masks dirt (of our 4 kids and 4 dogs) to a significant degree, and it is incredibly durable. We did NOT install it ourselves, so I have no comment on the difficulty, but the person who did (and has experience with these kinds of floors) said it was a standard installation. That said, the edges float a little with the weather, so be sure to have a wall edge that covers the gap.

We put two coats of polyurethane on it, which deepened and defined the pattern in a nice way, and it gets very heavy use in the mudroom/kitchen/utility room area. We simply damp mop it, no fussy compounds necessary. It is great for projects that require standing for long periods of time, like laundry and cooking, but it is in an everything room. We have two scratches in it, but you have to practically get down on your knees and look at it from the side to see them. Even with the heavy use it gets in our house, it's still beautiful, and looks great against the hardwood floors of the living room and the slate floors of the entry way. I highly recommend this product.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Van Gogh Cork:

Do you want a unique look? The VanGogh pattern is great. I've always wanted cork, looked at some store samples, but didn't know how nice this looked until I saw it at my son's school, on the wall as a background for where they hang the student's art.It installed very easily. I did go and buy a table saw and more importantly a high tooth count blade designed for cutting laminates. Blade was about $75. But it was well worth it when it came to ripping board after board. I spent a lot of time planning the first board due to staggering parallel walls. If I started a full board width on one wall, another would end up with a sliver cut. I tried about 5 solutions before coming up with the widest widths possible for all walls, paying close attention to the width in the heavier traffic'd areas. I custom cut a tapping block to match the tongue and grooves of the flooring. It was simple to knock them in place. My 12 year old do a bunch himself.I read other posts saying to definitely urethane as the instructions say and I would echo that. I was sad that I had to allow people to walk on it after it was done. Post urethane, pre traffic it looked like a million bucks. Now that it's been traffic'd it still looks good, just not like sheet of glass. Beware of dog nails, they will scratch it. The Van Gogh texture hides them pretty well.Be sure to check dye-lots/ production run numbers and mix boxes when laying them. Also look closely at colors to make sure the mix is good.I had a little bit of difficulty with stair nose and end cap. A couple false starts with the end cap, but got the hang of it. Stairnose was difficult because there's not that much overhang/wiggle room. I had one 10 foot run that meets a wall in an open stairway. I'd make sure to order a little extra, don't cut it tight or one mistake and you'll be calling to order more.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Van Gogh Cork:

The floor looks lovely. It goes well with the wood floor in the connecting dining room, a seamless transition.
It was hard for the installer to get right for several reasons.
One, I have many, many corners which meant a lot of specific cutting to install properly. It took over a week.
Two, the installer did not click the pieces tightly in a few areas which leaves noticible seams.
Three, and this is about it being in the kitchen, you must apply three coats of a water borne sealer. So it took awhile after the installation to actually use the kitchen as the floor sealer needed seven days to cure and I didn't want to make any spills or pet messes until I could feel safe about using the floor.
I did all this to sell the house as the previous flooring needed to be replaced. Wow.
It does look very expensive, and it was.

This is a beautiful product. We put it down in our kitchen and dining/formal living room. We have had so many great comments on it and no on has ever seen anything like. No the only problem is everyone wants to copy it. It is soft on your feet. We also liked it so much we went back and did our guest house living room. We did put 3 coats of urethane water based sealant. It should hold up well.

Installed in downstairs guest bathroom. We wanted authentic flooring to walk off the hardwood, not a laminate or vinyl look-a-like. This looks perfect with the hardwood and is just what we wanted. If you like installing a floating foor it won't be a problem but hubby had rather install nail-down hardwood. It is easy to piece together in small or awkward spaces and blends flawlessly with the rest of the floor. The salesman at Lumber Liquidators was helful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Will most definitely use them again!

Never installed flooring before. The tongue & groove LISBON Cork flooring was a breeze to install over our old vinyl kitchen floor. I installed 150 square feet in six hours. Used a jigsaw, hammer, rubber mallet and small piece of 2" x 4". Bought a gallon of polyurethane and used half for two coats. Put new white molding along the walls. Beautiful new kitchen floor for less than $800! Floor is cushy and stays warm.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Van Gogh Cork:

I've used this tile in a couple of rooms not usually recommended, an apartment bathroom and two kitchens. So far, I don't see any reason why you wouldn't so long as you seal the surface. The results have been good, though we've faced no real test such as an overflowing sink and the aftermath. Our thinking is that replacement is so quick and relatively inexpensive that the pros outweighed the cons. I wouldn't have used it so much if it weren't good, but be warned that it will mar and mar pretty badly if you're not careful with it. But its warm and inviting, and a good candidate always. It's easy to install as long as you have the steel bar with flanges at both ends for setting.

After reading similar reviews about difficulty in installing we chose to hire a local contractor who had installed similar products before. He still had a hard time. The finished product is beautiful. The color is rich and warm and the floor doesn't feel hard and cold like tile. It doesn't show dirt at all. We have 2 large dogs and are continually sweeping up dog hair and spills. We still clean up after them, but you can't see it on the floor. Because we have the dogs we sealed the floor with a polyurethane (as recommended) to help protect against scratching the surface. So far we haven't noticed that to be a problem.

We put this flooring in our bathroom and I love it! It was recommended we seal it with a floor-grade polyurethane so I used a semi-gloss to give it a little shine. It is easy to clean, warm to the touch, and no grout to clean.

I did say UNCLE and have someone install the flooring. I used this in my laundry room, this is a small room with three door ways and some angles. Since I do not have a table saw I decided it would be best to leave to a pro. This looks great and so far all my friends have been surprised at how great it looks. Applying a coat of poly was easy and enhanced the color.

Loved this product! Was easy to install, easy to cut, doesn't have seams - it looks like one sheet, not different planks. It looks great in my powder room! Just follow the manufacturer's directions. Most importantly, since it is a floating floor, make sure your sub floor is level

Installed in my kitchen and dinette area after my refrigerator ice maker filter had flooded the area. Looks great and I hope it is durable enough for a kitchen. Installed felt pads under dinette table and chairs. Installation was easy. A lot of measuring and cutting around cabinets. The only con I have is; you can see the seams after three coats of polyurethane.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Van Gogh Cork:

We chose the Van Gogh because it was beautiful and we appreciated the sound-absorbing, eco-friendly, easy-care aspects of cork flooring. We hired professional installers, but they were unable to install them. The cork tiles were not milled correctly to click and lock tightly and seamlessly.

Service & Delivery comments:

Disappointed that the cork did not work out, but Lumber Liquidators was fantastic about the return process. Will definitely shop there again!

Comments about Lisbon Cork Van Gogh Cork:

My wife has allergies so I decided we needed to get the carpet out. So we used the cork in our living room and our formal dining room. It seems to make the rooms look bigger. I love the different colors that are in the cork. We have only had it for three weeks now so I can't talk about the durability yet. I put two coats of semi-gloss polyurethane down just for extra protection. I wanted to put another coat down but the wife was ready to get the house back in order. Had to get wood transition pieces and I would recomend the unfinished redwood and stain them yourself. That is what I did and the color matched great.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Van Gogh Cork:

This product is very durable, and easy on the feet. I would recommend it because it is eco-friendly and renewable. Oak cork trees need "shaving" every decade or so. The product looks rich and most people do not know what it is at first glance. They are always surprised to know that it is cork from Portugal, the home of the best cork in the world for flooring and wine bottle corks as well.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Van Gogh Cork:

i installed it in my kitchen. measure carefully and be sure to leave that all important 1/4" gap all around to allow for expansion ! it fits realy tight with no seams visible in the finished installation. you could get by with just a skill saw but if you do, then you will have to make all your cuts from the back of the pieces so you dont chip the finish side. i used a table saw for most of my cuts and a fine tooth handsaw for the intricate cuts. overall i am very pleased with the finished product. it feels good underfoot and is very easy to keep clean.. i put stick-on felt pads on the table & chair legs to minimise the chance of damaging the finish.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Van Gogh Cork:

I installed this floor over concrete in a restaurant. We sealed it with a professional floor finish. It gets mopped everyday, has heavy traffic, and it still looks great! I wish that I had used it throughout. Cork also has great sound absorbtion so it is a perfect choice for restaurant use. I would use it again if I ever needed too. The ambiance it provides is fantastic.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Van Gogh Cork:

This product, got all the carpet out of the bedrooms and hallwayys. We are all breathing and sleeping better. It's warmer than tile and easy to clean, what's not to like. The only crazy thing,is that when you tell people that you put in the cork flooring, they all see the bulletin board at work or school not the great looking floor we have. But, when they see it they are blown away. Some how this has to be marketed for max visual appeal.

Comments about Lisbon Cork Van Gogh Cork:

I put the cork in the basement level to finish off the rec and TV area. My son will be having his friends over and I wanted something that would withstand the wear. This has worked out perfectly. It is warmer than carpet and absorbs the noise very well that the boys make.
The cork was easy to install and cuts very easily with a small circular saw. I put on 5 coats of polyurethane to seal the cork. This was one gallon of polyurethane for about 400 sq ft. I don't have any worries if there is any liquid spilled or the dog has an accident on the cork.
I am highly recommending it to all that I show it to.

The cork flooring is really beautiful and adds depth and warmth to our kitchen. It was only installed a few weeks ago so I can't speak to its durability but I can say that it is comfortably soft underfoot which is perfect in a kitchen (when you're standing a lot for mixing and chopping, etc.).

Comments about Lisbon Cork Van Gogh Cork:

The tough part is keeping the seems together until you get about 4 to 5 rows connected. YOU HAVE TO KEEP A WATCH ON YOUR SEEMS STAYING TOGETHER BEFORE AND AFTER EACH ROW. Once you get the hang of it and how to lock and tap each piece together, it gets easier. My husband and I decided to put cork flooring though out our new house and we had NEVER even touched a piece of cork and we laid it ourselves...and let me add...we did a great job. So anyone can do it...just take your time. We are SO PLEASED with our cork floor...and we have NO CARPET...Yea!!!!
