My husband has some experience but I had 0% before he talked me into the idea we could lay a floating floor ourselves. Once we got 3-4 rows into it, the rest was a breeze (400 sq foot room) that we did in just a little over a day.
It went so well we're using the same wood in the bedrooms and living room.
We bought the wood and planned to install it 3 weeks earlier, but Hurricane Ike delayed the project. The boards were already in our house and being acclimated - we had no warping, etc. from all the humidity so I think they'll stand up to anything at this point.

I also bought the product before its initial availabilty in stores. Neither the view on the website nor the small sample in the store showed this as a "distressed" finish. The professional installers remarked on the ease of installation. The overall appearance is beautiful. The downside is that the natural characteristics, ie., knots and (?) lines, are presenting a problem. Within a week the knots started popping out leaving rough edged craters. The lines(?)began cracking, also leaving rough edges. [...]

I LOVE THIS FLOOR !!! The only problem i had was the knots in the wood started to crack, and chip away. But i purchased this floor 6 months before it was in stock so maybe early production problems, either way it looks great, oh yeah if you have a dog over 50 pounds good luck !!! my dog scratched the floor the first day, and pretty much every day, so i just got carpet runners which helps, but it covers the pretty floor !!

Even though the installation took a littler longer then accepted, it was very easy to install. Not only is the floor durable it looks great as well. I would recommend this floor to anyone wanting a high dollar look on a budget.

Quick and easy install. Floor looks great!! Couldn't be happier. This floor makes a huge difference in the appearance of a room. Just wonderful! It is a lot better than having carpet.

We put it in our family room and it looks great. We. plan on putting the same flooring in our living room and dining room soon.Very easy to install it literally just clicks together no pounding pieces together.The natural grade is beautiful because with the knots and different grains in the wood it gives the floor real character.
