You can dream big on a budget with this flooring. Everyone that visits is amazed with the beauty, and it was much cheeper than other hardwood flooring that we looked at.

We had the floors installed in by a professional. It took a full five days. However, we previously had tile, wood and carpet in the area. We placed it in the dinning area, great room, and hallways. It made the whole house look larger. We have 4 cats that have their claws and run around on it all day. Not a problem. We have also had children visit our home. Not a problem. I would recommend this floor to anyone! Infact, I would love to have it throughout my house. (A project for another day). It does show dust, but clean up is a breeze. I am glad that I own a microduster instead of a vaccume. Life is good! ;-)

Additional note: Pulling up old flooring causes tons of dust and a lot of noise. I had no idea how bad it would be. If you have pets, I would recommend making other plans for them. At the very least, place them in a safe room. This is what I did and it worked out ok.

We did a whole house renovation at our cottage. We installed this in our kitchen, dining room, living room and hall. It looks beautiful!! The instructions tell you to work out of two boxes at a time and I would definitely recommend it because of the sizes of the planks. They come in 24"-30"-36"-42"-48" and 7' lengths, but you don't get the exact same boards in each box. We actually had 2 boxes that had mostly 7' boards. It worked out great for us because we had a long run. The random sizes make it look very natural.
We have two small dogs and small scratches do not show on the distressed finish. I would recommend when moving heavy items to protect the floor (small dents from the wheels on refrigerator).

Great Floor

Our installer got all 480 square feet installed in one day. We had no need for a moisture barrier and very little unevenness in our slab. He was just coming off a project that took 5 days for around 600 square feet. He said that customer had bought a cheap product from a home superstore and they had to manually carve out the grooves for each piece. We love our floor it looks great and is very durable.

This flooring is spectacular. I ordered over 1000sq feet, and every piece was near perfect. I cannot vouch for the installation as I had a professional do it. But everyone who walks in simply raves at the color and sophistication it brings to our townhome. I'd compare this product to wood purchased elsewhere for at least 2-3X the money.

My interior design is primitive/rustic.... this flooring surely finishes my decorative touches! It looks warn and dated, and I love the color. We already have a few minor scratches (from moving some furniture), so make sure you have felt on the bottom of EVERYTHING expected to sit in this room. I just scrubbed it for the first time after the installation was complete. I used Murphy's Oil and it seemed to do the job. I would recommend this flooring!

My husband installed 340 square feet in our family room and 150 square feet in our formal dining room. It took 2 full days for the dining room and about 5 full days for the family room. The wood was very difficult to get the tongue & groove together and took alot of strength, but it was well worth the effort. We love the look of the distressed word, it varies quite a bit, and is beautiful. We think it is an excellent product if you have pets in the house, because if it gets scratched, it looks like it belongs. We love it and highly recommend [...] to anyone.

Awesome Flooring

[...] My husband originally had his mind set on light wood but once he saw the 5" Potomac Planks he was convinced it was the right one to choose. We got lucky because the amount of flooring we needed was in stock. [...] The flooring was so new it didn't even have part numbers in the computer system for the hall and doorway transistions. It took us one solid weekend to install 456 sq ft. We had a trio of do-it-yourself(ers) with no experience whatsoever in laying hardwood/engineered flooring. The first board was the hardest especially since we live in an old home without any square walls, after that the rest of the floor was a piece of cake to install. We found only one bad board in ten boxes of flooring. It was too dark to use on the actual floor so we used it as our scrap board to check the staple setting. We had a very small amount of waste. I love walking into my kitchen & dining room. I can't believe it's done and how beautiful it looks.
