Comments about Virginia Mill Works 1/2" x 5" Yorktown Plank Handscraped:
I absolutely love the finished look of this floor and I always get compliments on it. No one can believe my friend and I did it ourselves. I'm not sure I would recommend gluing for beginners, which is what I was when I started! It was way more work than I anticipated because I went complete with the moisture/vapor barrier. Be prepared for sore shoulders and knees with that stuff.
Because I love the way it looks so much, I tend to overlook the down side. It is frustrating sometimes to clean because of the texture, dirt gets down in the grooves of the wood grain. But I love the texture, so that wins out! Also, when I used mineral spirits to wipe up glue drips before they dried, I could see where it was wearing the finish off pretty quickly. But that also is minor because I think it adds to the overall look of the floor. We pulled planks from about 5 boxes at a time to get a nice variation.
I would definitely install this floor again, though I might reconsider the gluing method.
Living Room- Looks a bit reddish due to lighting

Comments about Virginia Mill Works 1/2" x 5" Yorktown Plank Handscraped:
We love the color as it matches our kitchen cabinets and it makes such a beautiful impression. We have had several workers that are building our home ask about it. We haven't been able to see the daily wear and tear yet as we have not moved in, but I have seen what the workers are doing on it each day and am impressed with it so far. Have put it on the stairs also and I love the nosing as it matches so perfectly but is a little expensive.

I love the rich dark color and the feel it brings to a room. It has turned our bedroom into a delightful resort. Light neutral tone walls accent and play second stage to this drop dead gorgeous flooring!

Comments about Virginia Mill Works 1/2" x 5" Yorktown Plank Handscraped:
I bought about 1,500 square feet of the York finish in 2006. I installed this floor upstairs using a floor-crown air stapler which cost me about [$]. And downstairs using glue. We have put this floor to the test with our dog and my boys, who love racing there toy trucks on it. We have not noticed any scratches, dents, or any of the finish wearing off. We built our house brand new in 2006 and made it look like it was built in the early 1900's. We have had many people including appraisers questioning us on when the house was built. This is due to the antique look. For any customer looking for a modern high gloss finish, this is not the product for you. This product has a very low gloss finish. However it is still very easy to clean.Cons(stair nose); I cut a peace of oak stair tread and stained it to match the floor. Then brad nailed from the front and supported it with some trim underneath. It looks great and holds a 230 lb man.

Comments about Virginia Mill Works 1/2" x 5" Yorktown Plank Handscraped:
Thinking that we would lay tile all over, we wanted to explore other flooring options before we did anything. I had seen homes that had wood floors done w/ Lumber Liquidators and how they looked over time and really liked the look. Having small children was an obvious concern over maintenance. We chose the Jamestown Plank 1/2x5" plank HSYTP5 handscraped and distressed to "try" in the dining room. We have since installed it all over the house and it looks stellar! We did opt for tile in the kitchen only because I fell in love w/ the look of it against my wood and usual "water" concerns but I would do it again. My real estate agent says it really adds to the home and we will get back more when we sell but I love my floors too much to want to move anytime soon!
Maintenance would be dusting/minor touch ups. Any "scratches" add to the look w/ this product.
