The free samples were too small for me to get a good idea of what the flooring would look like in my home. I ended up buying several different(non-returnable) boxes of flooring and mock assembling them in the actual room I wanted to install flooring in. Choosing became much easier with 20 square foot samples to look at and walk on. Since all three "sample" boxes were a similar shade, I ended up using the other 2 boxes in closets.

My experience at Lumber Liquidators was very good. I signed up for their newsletter and waited for the inevitable sale. Just a hint: Saturday mornings are busy and you will have to wait, weekdays just before closing seem to be best. The salespeople are all very knowledgeable about their products and installation procedures. I think that they have all installed floors before. Thankfully they load your purchase for you. A pro and con of 12mm flooring is the weight. 1000 sq ft of flooring is about 2500 lbs - great when it's installed, but a lot of work to load, unload and haul into a basement... Also something to consider is the capacity of your vehicle.

Installation is straightforward. Unlike hardwoods, there are no irregular pieces, everything is straight, square and fits well. The rule of thumb to purchase 20% or even 10% over required square footage is not necessary because you can use every square foot of this product. But, by all means buy and save an extra box in case of future damage. Randomly use the three different board lengths to get a more natural look.

The finished floor looks great. The satin finish is glossy enough without being over the top. It's almost too perfect to look like real wood, but there is enough variation in the design so it doesn't look like you're looking at the same embossed picture over and over again. After 6 months the finish has proved to be quite durable. Much more durable than the oak floors in my kitchen (which is good, because laminate can't be refinished like hardwood floors). I have dropped things (a hammer), moved furniture (a pool table) and the floor holds up well. It doesn't feel or sound like cheaper/thinner laminates. I haven't spilled anything on it yet, but my feeling is that warping could be an issue for spills that aren't wiped up immediately. Because the finished surface is flat and glossy to begin with = dust, dirt, fingerprints and scuff marks do show. So far the only cleaning I've done is vacuuming.

Bottom line, I am very pleased with this flooring. It looks great, it's very durable and the price was right. I would highly recommend it.

Bought for the living room. It was frustrating installing at first but after my daughters and I got about 5 or 6 rows down, it was smooth laying. If 3 females can install this , anybody can. The shine wore off after the 1st cleaning but that's fine, it's still beautiful. It does collect a lot of dust but it's still worth the little extra sweeping. The price could be a little cheaper but I did purchase some for the hallway when they had there "end of summer sale".

I have put this flooring in my hallway, 2 bedrooms and the dining room. Easy to install and no complaints. Just be aware that in the sample pictures the flooring appears to be much lighter then the actual flooring really is. Be sure to order a sample to look at or stop by one of the stores to look at before ordering.

Just installed in my living room. It took about a day and was very easy to work with. The look is very impressive and it installs so quick assuming your floors are level. I installed over a wood subfloor in an older home that was luckily level. Compared to real wood this is pretty hard to tell the difference once it's installed. I tend to take on quite a few projects as a DIYer, but I am pretty sure a beginner could handle this with a little direction. Otherwise, I have to live with it for a while to vouch for the durability, but it has a 30 year warranty and appears to be a well made product that so far has held up to furniture being moved across it and normal walking and living conditions. I am certain you will be impressed and it just makes the room look so much nicer. Very impressed!

I've got a friend to do this for us. The only caution I have for anyone to install this product is to take the time to mix and match the different lengths of the plank to make the final appearance to be more natural.

The reason I went with Lumber Liquidators was the price, the selection and the experience I had with the salespeople. They were very helpful, not pushy, and informative.

We were a little reluctant to put down laminate because we are totally 100% wood flooring people, but we wanted something that was reasonably priced and that would last because we are very hard on floors.

We were not disappointed with these floors. We installed 1,400 s.f., so it was a rather big job. The boards went down fairly easy after we got the hang of it. After the job was completed, we were very pleased with the appearance of the floors. They were beautiful and very rich looking. Our friends commented that the floors were very lovely.

The only down side I can see is that the floors show everything - every piece of lint, smudge, etc. That can also be a good thing if you want to be able to see everything to know when and where to clean. As far as durability, well, we'll have to see because we just installed the floors.

I would recommend these floors and Lumber Liquidators to everyone.

Put it in our livingroom, diningroom, hall. Really pretty, but shows EVERYTHING! Every footprint, every drip of water, absolutely everything. I'd rather have it than the carpet we replaced but I would not reccommend it to anyone if this kind of things bother you. Our new joke is: How do you drive a menopausal woman crazy? Have her try to get this floor clean! I walk in circles trying to get this floor clean, because even as you are cleaning you leave footprints.

The flooring itself looks great and was installed by professionals without a hitch. The transitions that went with the flooring have steel rails that the installer preferred not to use and the reducer did not hang over the flooring far enough to reach the subfloor as he would have liked.

Had floor installed one year ago on entire first floor except bedrooms(entry,long hall and open kitchen, dining , living room). Difficult to keep clean day one. Shows every footprint, smudge, streak. After a few months , only using manufacture reccomended cleaninng method finish is dull, and has this wierd streaked peeling look. i am so disappointed but have to live with it for a few more years.

I really think that this looks great. I installed it in all of the bedrooms of my home. It has a great high end look without the high end price tag. It installed easily, I used a profession grade tapping block and pull bar (left over from an older installation of Pergo). This is a better and quieter floor than Perfo and looks much more attractive. I will to wait to comment on durability, but so far so good.

The flooring looks great for a family room, but a bit "manufactured" looking for a dining or living room. The material is very hard and wears well, however, it burned out a 10" carbide tips blade cutting ends for a 260 SF room.

Use the cut off from one side of the room to start the next row if possible. This reduces scrap quite a bit.

I installed this floor with a friend, it was our first time to install flooring, this was very easy. One thing that is not stated with this floor is that it is a Plank look. The edges have a bevel on it and it looks like hardwood flooring. There is a tiny little space in between the pieces. Even the planks that are in the box have a spacing so it is not seamless. None the less it is a very beautiful floor and I am very happy with this product!!

Love my new hardwood floor, had it installed for four months now. Looks beautiful, everyone who comes over likes it a lot, pretty hard and can take a beating from kids...Warning it will chip or scatch while moving heavy furtinure of something heavy will fall on it. Best way to clean it is with Vinegar and Water (50%/50%). I bought rubber pads for all my furniture. Very easy to clean and looks so much better than carpet.

My brother & I installed 1,000 sq ft in the great room, dining room, hall & master bedroom in about 2 1/2 days. Starts out a little tricky because it didn't want to lay down & stay in place until you get a few rows locked in & I've got some crazy angles in the house. But after we got it going, it went fast. Looks Great! No scratches anywhere & I've got a Doberman that tears through the house. :)

As with any laminate product this will chip easily when cutting and installing. This floor is tough once it is all down. 16 month old son pulled a cookie sheet off the counter . . no dents or scratches on the floor just many cookies. He has also done many laps around the dining table on his favorite "car" floor is holding up GREAT no scratches or dents. Been down over two months now. Was very skeptical about buying a laminate at first. I am converted will put this same stuff in more rooms soon.

I had the African Mahogany laminate flooring installed by an excellent installation specialist in January 2011 in my living/dining area, powder room, closets and a hallway. The look and performance of the floor has been excellent. It is very attractive and changed the total look of the room. I have a small dog who scurries around on the floor and I have found no permanent scratches at all. Anytime I think there is a mark, it goes away with light rubbing. It will show smudges, but the correct cleaning products keeps the finish spotless. My only minor complaint would be that the color of the coordinating trim pieces sold by Lumber Liquidators did not match the color of the flooring very well. My installers had trim and transition pieces of a different brand that matched the color and fit the height much better. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Fantastic flooring! We just had almost 600 sq feet installed in our kichen and into the dining room as well. We had personal friend who needed the job, so he did the work and raved about the quality and wished he had known about Lumber Liquidators before he went elsewhere. I was worried about using in the kitchen, but based on the reviews here, I finally went with it and am so thrilled. The overall finish was outstanding...even my pro son-in-law thought it was real wood at first, probably wouldnt have known different if we hadnt told him. As most people commented, this type of finish will show dirt, but I end up sweeping daily so not a problem for me. Any spots are wiped up easily with a terry cloth floor wiper, sprayed with any hardwood or laminate cleaner. Dirt and marks are gone! I cannot say enough about the quality and our installer had no problems. Solid flooring, beautiful finish, and as close to real wood as we can hope for! Thanks Lumber liquidators!

My husband and I had this flooring installed in our living room, dining room ,and kitchen after our previous laminate floor was ruined by our wash machine that overflowed.I was a bit hesitant about having more laminate put in the house since the one before sounded hollow and echoed,but this stuff is wonderful. I wanted to wait a full year before reviewing these floors so I could give an solid opinion. The time is up, and I can honestly say these floors are great. This was the first time my husband and I had ever installed a floor, but we got the hang of it really quickly. We were nervous about putting it in the kitchen, but have yet to have a problem. The floors have stayed together nicely and still look brand new. We have 3 young kids and a pet, so it gets dirty pretty quick. But it also cleans just as quick. Snow and ice have been tracked in and left on it, wiping up w/o a stain or problem. And we have dropped everything from chairs to a hammer and it has yet to dent. Would love to have this thru my whole house.

i installed it myself. it was easy to use and it came out beautiful. this was my first time doing a floor. the dining was the only room and it is in a 100 yr old house which wasnt level nor square. but i took my time it looks great

I purchased approximately 900 sq ft of this product to be used in a family room and dining room, which included 4 closets and 5 transitions). It took a little longer to put down than I thought (about 5 days) but nothing about the install was hard. Make sure that as you install each row you go back and make sure that previous rows haven't separated from the hammering. Other than that, come up with system and stick to it. I had a few concerns with purchasing a laminate flooring. The first was that I didn't want it to have the hollow sound when walking on it like others do. This flooring is very thick and has no echo sound at all. The second concern I had was I didn't want it to look fake. Since this flooring is in individual sheets, it looks like real wood. Thirdly, I have large dogs who love to run in the house (80 lb Boxer). I didn't want the floor to scratch. Four months in and not a single mark. Forth, I wanted it to stand up to the wear of my two kids (4 and 1). My 4 year old is currently riding her tricycle on it as I type and not a single mark. Fifth, I read a lot about chipped pieces from the factory. Out of the 900 sq ft I didn't have a single chipped board. I currently have zero complaints and would recommend this flooring to anyone and already have.

We did the whole downstairs,and stairway. The job was professional done from the Lumber liq. contractors.They did a very good job,only took 2 days to be completed. And the result is amazing.Even we find out that the house cool faster in the hot summer days.We get a lot of compliments,doesn't look like is laminate flooring.The only bad thing is,because of the high gloss shows dirt easily.And when my dogs drink water you can see the trail of water drops, otherwise is perfect.The floor was done about 4 months ago and still no dents or any problem with it.

The installation of this floor was very easy. The problem I have is if you get any moisture on it and don't wipe up immediately, the boards will swell. We have small children who spilled one glass of juice on the floor. We were unaware for maybe 1 hour. When found spill, floored had already buckled. If you spill anything, must be cleaned up instantly. Have had other laminate floors (cheaper) and have not had the same swelling.

This floor is absolutely beautiful. We have gotten so many comments on it and I'm just sorry we waited so long to get it put in!

We ended up paying the Lumber Liquidators installer to install the floor, only because we had stair treads and risers in addition to just the floor, and also because we put this in a basement with lolly columns and lots of corners to work around. If we were installing this in a smaller, actual square or rectangle shaped space, with no stairs, we would have done this ourselves easily.

We love the floor and it is so easy to clean!

Install Nov. 2009--This was the second floor I installed w/pre-attached padding and the locking system much different. This one was much easier than the other floor installed from a different manufacturer that required separate padding. No patience for me to wait for my husband's day off from work to do the install and cuts. Took it upon myself--did the cuts w/a jig saw and how great this floor looks in my office. Compliments from all how good this floor looks. Also, didn't see any guarantee on this St. James floor about water as we did w/the other product. So, did a test on a scrap piece--Soaked it in a bucket of water for a day or more. Result, after removal from the water the floor scrap was a hair higher. After, it completely dried it went back to shape and was leveled w/the other pieces.

I installed 900sf of this product myself in my dining room, living room and hallways. The stairs will be done next with one-piece stair treads. I am completely impressed with the quality of the product and the ease of install. I have installed other laminates and can remember the frustration from those installs - but not with this product. I will never use anything other than a 12mm product again and if I ever install more floors, I will use this product. It is very hard, thick and durable and it goes together like a dream. The icing on the cake is how rich and beautiful my floors look. I get many compliments on them. I am thrilled! I highly recommend the Bellawood hardwood floor cleaning kit for cleaning without streaks.

I purchased the product in the store. Description was a glossy finish. I was away during delivery and insallation. When I returned I was dissapointed in look as the finish was not glossy. There was one plank that had a glossy corner on it. Also floor scratches much easier than what i was lead to believe.

The wood is great. It is a hassle to keep clean b/c of the glossy finish. But I have three little ones twins 4 and 2 1/2. My kids have not been able to scratch or chip it. Best advice wear shoes or socks on the wood or you will spend most of your time cleaning it. When you walk over it, it shows footprints immediately. My toilet in the bathroom overflowed and the wood didn't even buckle it. I love the floors so much if we sell the house I am taking the floors. LOL

Floor went down quick and easy. I had a contractor buddy help and neither had put down a laminate before but it was pretty simple, although different from directions. I can't say how it will wear but it is a very hard surface material. In fact, I bought it to make a home office because the salesperson said it was much harder than engineered wood floors and wouldn't scratch easily. That must be true because it ate up a brand new, highest quality miter saw blade putting down 300 ft2 of this floor, that's hard!

One tip not in the instructions. People here say the ends chip easily. When putting it down, you have to snap in the long side first and then drive each piece tightly into place with the previously laid plank. You cut a blank piece to fit on the end you're hitting with the mallet so you don't damage the actual floor and no ends get chipped. Hard to see how you could chip an end otherwise unless not handling it carefully.

I love this floor. We had old laminate in our living/dining room, great rooms, stairs and hallway upstairs. The old laminate was all scratched from the previous owner and ugly. I thought about getting hard wood but was concerned about the upkeep. When I got to LL, I couldn't decide between the African Mahogany or the Embassy. I liked the grain look of the African Mahagony much better and the color is gorgeous. It is not as light as the sample in the store or the online pics.The installers were great as well. Only bad thing is that they estimated too much because I decided to put white risers on the stairs and that was after I purchased the laminate. Now I am stuck with a few unopened boxes [...].

The floor is absolutely beautiful however if you have any undetected spills the edges will definitely warp. My daughters puppy wet in a corner and we didn't notice and it warped the edges of the boards that were wet. The Piano finish is beautiful but very difficult to keep shiny.

My husband & I looked all over for a descent, well priced, beautiful, sturdy floor and we found all 4 in this product. This same floor is at least $4 a sq. ft. at [...] and we found this for [$] on Memorial Day weekend there. It has only jumped up 50 cents from then. We were lucky to have found a sale. It is fairly easy to install as well. You have to know how to run a saw and have a little experience in carpentry if your going to do it yourself. My husband laid 350 sq. ft. in about 5 days. He works, too. My in-laws loved it so much that they turned around and bought the same exact floor 3 weeks later. I could not recommend this floor anymore than I already am. This store truly does have the best pricing and quality in town. Trust me, we looked. HA! Thank you Lumber Liquidators!!

I installed this flooring in my home office. I loved it. the width was easy to cut on my compound miter saw. With the differing lengths I had very little waste. I loved the thickness of the flooing on theattached padding. It snapped in easily. I have used the thin pergo style before and have found this to be far superior. I would highly recommend it. I'm just a gal who likes to do it myself and I encouarge any other woman to give it a try. After all it can't be that difficult, they let men do it.

The floating floor was not hard to install the only problem I had was all the angles that needed cutting not with the wood but with my measurements I would recommend buying my tools from a hardware store the ones that came in the yellow bucket did not last long enought to put down my floor and there is not enought 1/4" spacers to work with. I went on-line under laminate floor installation for instructions on how to install the floor which was really helpful the installation was not hard but the work is there is alot of getting up and down I would say it is aleast a 2 person job even though I did mine by myself

This was my first laminate floor experience and I must say it was a good one. The ease of installation was amazing! The look and feel of the floor is great. The only negative I can see so far is that the finish is some what easy to scratch. Granted any high gloss floor will show small scratches easier than a dull floor. It is not bad enough for me to not recommend this product. The overall value for me has been great! Every single person that has come to my home has commented on how great the floors look. They can't believe it's a laminate floor.

This is a wonderful product. I had heard that sometimes you get damaged pieces in the box, but this flooring is hard to damage. You can beat on the edges with a hardwood block and not tear it up. Every piece was perfect. It also comes in three different lengths per box which makes it look more natural when finished. My father and I installed 300 sf. in my living room in about 6 hours one Saturday. It is very easy to cut with a good saw blade, and it locks together wonderfully. I also like the fact that with the foam backing, there is no need for underlayment on a wood subfloor. I would highly recommend this product to anyone. Although, I wouldn't try installing in a kitchen or bathroom due to the moisture in these areas. It totally transformed my living room and is very easy to maintain even with a shitzu in the house.

This floor was chosen to replace carpet on a tight budget covering three bedrooms, two hallways and one set of stairs. We were very surprised at the rich color and ease of installation. Positive comments from friends have made the price seem to good to be true. The underlayment makes the floor soft to walk on. Our installer stated it was one of the highest quality engineered products he had installed and was surprised at the price. The only drawback is the finish is high luster so it shows prints if feet/shoes are damp. we've had a few spills and dog running across floor with no issues.

We installed this product ourself and it instantly improved the space (dining room and living room). The color and variation in pieces is striking. At a family get-together, we got compliments on how nice the floor looked. Just a word of caution though, be careful during installation the pieces will "scuff" a little if you try to rush and are not careful (human error not product's fault).

Bought 650 sq. ft to cover 3/4 of my newly remodeled basement (the other 1/4 will be carpeted). Product is very heavy - difficult to load and unload (did this myself for 31 boxes - took two trips in a medium sized SUV). However, that was the hardest part. Installed by myself and a buddy - neither had ever done anything like this before. Completed job working part time over 2 weekends. Picking a straight line to work from then setting rows 1 and 2 took the longest. Project went smoothly from there. I own a table saw and a radial arm chop saw - definitely needed both with sharp blades (the boards are very dense). Had to borrow a jig saw then bought a Dremel tool to undercut 5 doorways (looks great!). The pry bar in the install kit is poor quality (broke the first day) and not long enough (makes smaller end pieces very difficult to pull)- bought a longer, better one at big box store for [$]Thresholds from finish floor to concrete are not thick enough, so I cut a piece of unused flooring and glued to floor under the edge of the threshhold - it now sits flat and looks much better. Finished floor is very impressive looking and feels super solid! The joints collect dust, but the effort to clean-up before guests is well worth it!

Im not much of a writer, So ill just say that I buy and sell houses and I feel these floors are one of my biggest selling points.
The one thing I dont like is there isnt a return policy on unopened boxes. So measure 2 and 3 times before buying.

It did chip out at the ends when using the metal installation tool, but it will be covered with baseboard/quarterround when all is said and done. Took a little longer/more work to install than I expected, but I've never installed flooring before, so it's probably just a learning curve. We love our new floor!

The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable wit no high pressure sales. Keep in mind that the wood looks darker when its installed and put together than when its viewed on a sample plank in the store. Darkness will also vary on the color of your walls or lighting! We added a new family and office to our home and used this product in those rooms. It was a good choice, glad we did it. In addition we pulled out the carpet in our dining room and extended to the floor from the family room into the dining room. That was a great move on our part as well. Every thing looks great. The product seems to scratch a bit easy though. Perhaps that is common with all of these type of flooring.

The floors came out pretty good, however, I had a professional install the laminate. It took 2 (8 hrs each day)days to complete the living/dining room, family room and office approximately 700 sq.ft. THe floors are too newfor me to know how durable and scratch resistent they are we have a medium size dog, who'sbeen real excited about the floors I have not seen any scratches so far. My first time installing this type of floor and it was fairly easy. I only needed a table saw, miter saw, installation kit, and some hand tools. Goes down quickly after the first couple of rows. The floor looks awsome once installed. Great color and shine. The only drawback is that I found it to chip if metal objects are dropped on it. I dropped the metal installation tool on it and caused a small chip. Guess it is to be expected. Just be careful of that. We really like the floor.

We bought this laminate to replace the carpet that our rabbit had eaten and our college student small group had spilled coffee on. I can't believe we did not get this floor sooner. It blends perfectly with the various colors and wood tones in our home. It cleans easily, and our bunny can't destroy it. My husband, who is not especially handy, installed it with a friend who has worked with laminate before. The pieces snapped together easily, but the cut angles took them some time.

Many of the boards has glue residue that sometimes could be removed... sometimes the board had to be discarded. Took a lot of time to check each board. A small spill that was missed for 45 minutes warped 2 boards in the middle of a room. Can never be replaced without ripping up entire floor. Does not seem a good idea for anyone with children, pets or high traffic.

When we installed the floor at first it was a little hard but it got easier as we went along. We kind of found our own easy way of installing it. There were a couple of bad pieces that we did not see until later on and then we had to redo it. That was a little aggravating. The wife and I installed about 900 square feet in a basement over a concrete slab. Started on Saturday for about 8 hours and finished in time for the early football game Sunday. Very easy to install. All you need is a table saw, mitre saw, measuring tape, hammer and the installation kit. One we made a hammering block out of a scrap piece (do this - it will save on any chipping of a keeper piece) the process went very quickly - just follow the directions provided. If you are installing this in a standard room budget about 1/2 day - starts slow with occasional separation (easily fixed by going back and using the tool to correct) but as long as you keep an eye on that it is almost fun to install.

I recently installed this flooring in two bedrooms and their joining hallway. Installation was very easy using a mitre saw, table saw, jamb saw & the rest of the standard installation tools (which are included in the Lumber Liquidators Installation Bucket). The 12mm thickness makes a huge difference, feeling and sounding more like real wood flooring than the thinner laminates. Great time & money saver having the foam padding attached on the back rather than having to lay out an underlayment pad. As of this writing, this product is new and in very high demand. I love this flooring! We've just installed this flooring into our living room. It looks fantastic! I was so easy to install, once you get started its easy as pie. It took us a full day starting at 9am ending around 10pm. We have roughly a 500 sq living room with some angled walls ( those were a little tough). This flooring looks so classy. I haven't had time to clean it yet but I bought a micro fiber mop. I"m peeved that not many places have laminate flooring cleaner its all hardwood which you shouldn't be using on your laminate. I've been reading on line about using vinegar and water, I'm going to try it. But I would very much so recommend this flooring to anyone thinking about installing laminate.
