I put this flooring in the living room, kitchen, laundry and hallway. It took three weekends to do all these rooms. The floor is beautiful. I did all the rooms by myself. The hardest room was the hallway because of all the doorways and undercutting the door frames. I have had this flooring down since 3-10. The only con is the end joints do separate due to moving furniture or having someone using crutches over the flooring. If I were going to put this flooring down again I would use glue at the end joints.

The Nirvana product connects together a lot better than the Charisma. We were able to eliminate all of the grooves by tapping the pieces together.

I've installed about 450 sq/ ft. out of 1,000 total. It is fairly easy to work with and locks together well. Out of 25 boxes used so far I've only encountered 2 planks that had small flaws - edge chips - and most of the plank was useable as an end plank. I let the flooring temp stabilize for a few days in the house and have encountered no warping. The pictures on line are not very good in their color rendition as the flooring is a bit darker than shown. That said it has a nice warm tone and the purchased matching base and T-moldings coordinate well. The attached pad is great and when installed really helps muffle sound when you walk on it.

Put this in living room/ bedroom and hallway. It is beautiful. No sound or echos because of the backing already attached. More difficult to install than most. Be careful with open boxes; you can cut yourself on the edges of this product.It is slick; my cat slides across it!

Installed a small area (L-shaped hallway, 3ft wide, 12ft long one section and then 6ft) to see if we would like it before purchasing enough for our 3 bedrooms. The planks run parallel to the 12ft length. Starting rows were difficult to keep together at first, but improved when additional rows were added. Lightly tapping to seat the ends caused the end seams on other rows to separate. Then after finally completing, walking on the floor causes several end seams to separate slightly, and again as I reseat those, end seams on other planks start to separate.

I am now going to try gluing the end seams.

I will not be using this product in the bedrooms because of the seemingly inadequate locking system.

We just purchased an older home and the floors just did not look well. Carpet with a two foot trim of wood flooring in the formal living room. The formal dining room had laminate flooring. The office was older wood flooring that was showing a lot of age. My wife wanted to do wood floors so we visited our local Lumber Liquidator to select new wood flooring for the three rooms.
We decided to use a seamless run for all three rooms which really makes the rooms look larger overall. The flooring went in very easy as this was my first project with wood floors. 460 square feet took me just a little over 6 hours to install by myself this included prep. This flooring was very easy to install once you have your base row set. Only issue was making sure when you installed the next row of wood was that the seams did not open up on the prior one when you used the pry bar to seat the flooring together. Use lots of wall spacers and this should not be an issue. Overall we love the floor the color is beautiful and it really pulled the three room together. The price for this product was a great value and with a 25 year warranty it should hold up under traffic. Time will tell as we have four dogs in the house, will post an update after a few months of use.

I worked with a professional installer since I have a lot of alcoves and corners in my kitchen & dining room. The boards were all slightly warped, but not too difficult to use. They were supple enough not to break up when forced into place. The ends had grooves that made it a bit more difficult to fit togther than some of the higher-quality vinyl may have been, but was okay. I'm really glad I didn't try to do it by myself, because it would have been extremely time consuming and difficult for me by myself. I could have done it, but I think I would have screwed up a lot more pieces and perhaps not have ended up with it looking as good as it does right now. Too soon to tell how it's going to wear....

I bought the flooring in March 2010. I did the livingroom, kitchen, laundry room, and hallway in three weekends by myself. I had help moving furniture but that was it. I had never laid this type of flooring before and it was fairly easy. The hardest part was down the hallway because of all the doors to cut around. I would recommend buying a multi tool to cut around the door frames. I took a scrap piece and hit it with an ice pick and it didn't scratch it. It is very durable. The only problems I had was after doing a section I would look back and some of the boards before were coming apart due to hammering in the other boards. You have to really watch what you have done before to make sure it is not coming apart.

This stuff was very reasonable when we bought it so, I would say it was a very good value. It looks great now that it is installed.Installation was relatively easy for a couple of casual do-it-yourselfers. We worked for two full days and were able to install 600 square feet. Our space was filled with tricky cuts, corners, closets, and even a bathroom/toilet. If you're doing a more "square" space, it should go quicker.[...] I wouldn't hesitate to buy this again, but DEFINITELY inspect all of your product as soon as you pick it up.

The only word of caution I'll give is to be careful sliding furniture on the flooring. It is durable, but if there is any sharp edge on what slides, it will damage the surface.

My dad installed this product in my house I just purchased. He does this for his retirement "living" and is very impressed with it AND it looks BEAUTIFUL!! This flooring is not hard to install - get the right bump tools and a good hammer - have a ruler, a pencil and saw and you are ready to go - we are seniors and have installed about 700 feet in 4 different areas in a couple of Saturdays - we live in a 1975 Trailer - we have been working on it and this floor just really sets everything else off - it is just beautiful and it brings back wonderful memories of growing up with hardwood floors - also our doctors said this is great, especially in Arizona as it will elimate the bedding of carpet for dust mites and such -

we had this professionally installed, so no idea if it was hard to install or not. The guy installing said it was easy and he did a great job...the floor is AMAZING! I made my purchase at the local luber liquidators in St. Peters, MO. [...] There were some flawd pieces but only a few to mention. The color pick up on my kitchen cabinets and the direction they were layed just made my condo look huge. I did have several boxes to take back, but that was only because my installer did not waste anything, and was able to use box for box. I was happy with the savings becuase my laminate was on sale. The french oak color is very modern looking and worked well throughout my entire condo.

I installed it in a bedroom over this 50's asbestos tile. Previously there was this ugly carpet.

Installation was fairly simple. I measured the odd shaped room, and tried to pick a place where the boards would best line up around the closets and then cut the first row so the last row wouldn't be too short. I put down the 3mm cork underneath for extra padding. It seemed to cover the irregularities in the tiles well.

Of 17 boxes, 1 board was warped, and 5 were chipped, but i was able to make use of the chipped boards in places i needed to cut, though i probably could have returned them.

The floor was simple to install, (the 3rd floor I've done in 3 years) and I was impressed with the way it looked afterward. My best job thus far. No real negatives except for a few times the rubber backing had come loose from the flooring, but was easily reattached with a little glue. It sure helps to have a miter saw in the area when installing, and saw to cut door jambs/molding.

We needed a cheap, but attractive solution for the flooring in our new house, and I think we got a really good bargain on this laminate. I shopped around, and it was priced cheaper than most of the good quality laminate I saw. The thickness and compression quality of this laminate is impressive for the price, as well as the 25 year warranty. It was difficult to install properly though- it took a lot of time and precision cutting. It was doable for a novice, but not the effortless breeze they claim it is. But overall, it was worth it.

I was very skeptical when it came to buying laminate flooring and was set on buying "real" hardwood flooring. My dilemma with real hardwood was the prices. Seeing the Nirvana French Oak in the showroom somewhat convinced me that this might not be a bad choice. I am now even more please since having it installed in my family room. For the price paid, compared to real hardwood, you can't beat this product and it looks great.

Please buy this product at least four days before you install.We just finsihed installing, took us 2 1/2 days to finish 500 Sq ft with the help of two people. Let me tell you how to install this very easy,don't waist time for cutting the laminated floor for lower part of the door frames, just the bottom of the frame and slide in the floor. Now to install each floor, keep handy rubber head hammer and one cut piece of the floor, once you align the floor with one another (two piece at a time),put the cut piece to the end of the floor piece where next piece continue and tap gently with the rubber head hammeR. Please make sure to put at least 1/3" space from the wall. Let me tell you this process speed up our intsallation. Hope you understand what i'm trying to say. Good Luck.

We installed this florring very easily, and that is with a thousand different angle cuts that had to be made. The finish is beautiful, and I love that it is so much more sanitary then my old carpet for my son to be crawling on. My 3 dogs have not put a single scratch in it. The only thing I noticed is that it may chip easily, which can be a hassel if the chips are big enough that you want to remove the plank and replace it. Other than that I have found it to be a great addition to our home. It also made our space look so much larger!!

I installed this in our living room after I installed the Pergo in the kitchen, and by that time I was getting the hang of it. Having said that, it still took me all of 5 days to do both (around 750 sq ft total).

Even though it killed me, the floors really do look great! The only issue I have with them is that I can't keep them from separating in a few places (I've tried pulling the floor from both ends and they eventually pull back apart a little).

As for the installation, it seemed to go smoother with just one person actually working on the floor at a time (the more people messing with the floor, the more it would move). It also seemed to work better if you angle the boards and at least partially connect them before trying to hammer them together (if you just lay them next to each other and bang at them, you end up breaking off the tongues, which might be related to the separating issues I've been seeing.

We (my wife and I) installed this product in one of our bedrooms over a tile floor. It was very easy to install (my first attempt at something like this). It looks great in the bedroom and seems easy to care for. However, we have a problem with our cat, she doesn't want to sleep in the room anymore. This is a great product. It's easy to install, looks great, and one heck of a bargain. It's higher quality than the big name products you see at the home improvement stores, at half the price. When we finished installing it, we felt like we moved into a completely different house.

Saved big bucks doing it myself and the low price on the flooring. It cost about half what it would have been for a floor installer to do it. Also the preattached backing made the install go quicker and easier. For people doing this the first time make sure you double check your measurements before cutting the boards. This will help eleiminate extra waste.

We are new at Do-It-Yourself and had the help of a friend, who was also a contractor, for most of our work finishing our basement. Installation was relatively easy and the end result amazing. Our contractor friend thought we got a great deal and the color was even better once installed!

First I can say that this flooring looks great! It was a little more difficul to install than I thought but far easier than other quality flooring methods. I found the quality control to be poor in the boxes of flooring.

Buying just over 1000 sq feet, I have found very few boxes without some damaged or poorly made boards. Foam backing is often the problem, with it being misssing or stuck to the finish of the board below it with the glue reversed. I have also come up with several boards with severely damaged corners right out of the box.

Overall I am extremely satisfied with the product as the pricing makes it extremely attractive as a do it yourselfer.

I installed it at a 45 degree angle to the wall so with the interlocks on all 4 sides it made for a lot of waste material...but thats what we wanted was that look..... and its GREAT!!!

I bought this product and had a contractor install it in my living and dining areas. I think it looks great, so much better than carpet! I have had it for nearly 6 months, with no problems so far. I have two toddlers who have been rough on it. I am a picky person (believe me) and I totally recommend this product!

This flooring was very easy to install. We used it in our kitchen/dining area. It looks great and is much easier to clean than the vinyl flooring we had before. According to the reviews it should be very durable, as we have 3 dogs. I want to do the living room next!

We installed this in our family room which has direct paths to the back door, main bathroom and kitchen. It replaced 19 year old Berber carpet that was getting real shabby. It took about 10 hours to install with a few more for the trim. It came out beautiful. Everyone who has seen it, complements it.
We have a Golden Retriever, a Chihuahua, 4 cats, and 3 grandkids who all skid around on it and so far, not a scratch to be seen! Amazing! It is easy to clean with a wet swiffer (for doggie-drool spots and grandkid spills) and dry mop or vacuum for dust and pet hair.
We are so happy with this floor, we wish we had done it long ago! (But then we probably wouldn't have gotten this great product!)

I used this wood flooring instead of ceramic tile in my new kitchen. It looks good, went down easily, and was cheaper than the tile. Also if I need to remove it, (it's a rental property) it comes up easily too!

What's great is its easy to install with some basic tools & looks really good. In my bedroom specifically its now easier to slide heavy pieces around by myself. Also I love how it seems as if there is static layer on it that gathers the dust in clumps making it even easier to clean. Overall very happy with the purchase.

Very nice floor!! We liked it because it had the underlayment preattached. Put it in out dining room and hallway. Might put it in the whole house before we're done. Love the color. I have found the best way to clean it is to use a half cup of white vinager to one gallon of very hot water. Just mop it like you would tile, but don't get the mop too wet as it might warp the floor. I also use a microfiber mop head.

I put this flooring in our bedroom by myself. This was the first laminate floor I have put in and it went quite well. It has not been down for very long, so it is hard to say how well it wears. But so far, no scratches, dents, or anything unexpected.

So far, very satisfied with this product. First time installation of any hardwood floor, and it went down quickly and easily. Plan on installing more flooring later this spring!

you cant find anything that compares to the french oak laminate for the price at LL . I installed it myself about a year and half a go..it still looks great even though I have a dog and a 4 year old. Only thing I wish I did different was wear knee pads while installing it.

It does show water marks after the water dries. I end up washing the floor daily so it looks good constantly. My dog drinks from her water bowl and then drips water all the way to the living room. Not a big problem though.

WE HAVE DONE THE WHOLE HOUSE EXCEPT KITCHEN AND BATHROOMS OF COURSE. WE ARE GOING TO FINISH OUR OTHER TWO BEDROOMS THIS YEAR, IT IS CLEAN AND WHEN IT NEEDS TO BE DUSTED NO PROBLEM.

We installed this floor in my sons bedroom. We expect it to hold up nicely and be very durable like out other Nirvana floors. We installed approximately 200 sq ft. and it took about a half a day. Very easy installation.
