Comments about Tranquility 1.5mm South Perry Pine Resilient:

Liked the look of this flooring more than most laminates. Has self adhesive backing, but was recommended to use a vinyl glue. Using glue was very time consuming, and not as easy as only using self stick. When we ran out of glue, we went to nearby home improvement store and the sales clerk said that he didn't recommend glue for self stick vinyl. He showed us a product called adhesive enhancer for self stick flooring. Was much easier to apply to floor and not much waiting. Since then, we have talked to several other handy do-it-yourselfers and was surprised that many do use the glue for self stick also. Maybe it does work as well, but we found that the adhesive enhancer worked nicely, easier to use, and half the price of the glue for more of an area. Overall, we really are satisfied with the flooring.

Comments about Tranquility 1.5mm South Perry Pine Resilient:

I have installed this flooring in my living room and plan on extending to the hallways and master bedroom. The color is perfectly neutral and looks great. There is just enough texture on the woodgrain without looking overdone.

I chose this particular color because I wanted a more casual, rustic look and it's perfect. I also have dogs and during season, get a lot of muddy paws going coming in through the french doors. Clean up is easy and the dog hair is nearly invisible on this color.

I did get one scratch from moving a heavy sofa but floor protectors on the legs solved that problem. The scratch isn't even noticible. I did have a couple of places where the edges/corners lifted. I used a hair dryer to warm the plank and put some heavy books on it for a few hours and problem solved. My install was over previously carpeted concrete slab. The floor went down quickly, the planks cut easily with tin snips & a utility knife.

The price was incredible. I was happy paying full price for this flooring, when I found it on sale I was thrilled. I'm very pleased. The hardest thing about the project was removing the carpet & pad and prepping the floor because it does need to be clean and smooth.

Service & Delivery comments:

I picked my flooring up at the store. They were super helpful and everyone was very courteous.

Shrinkage

Bottom Line:

Comments about Tranquility 1.5mm South Perry Pine Resilient:

I cut it with tin snips. Was very easy to install and initially looked terrific. After 6 months, it has shrunk and there are gaps, some fairly noticeable, at all seams.
The photo print and the random cut of the planks makes it look amazingly like real wood, as long as you don't see the shiny surface woodgrain texture. The very pronounced surface texture doesn't match the wood print, and is very shiny so it ruins the illusion when viewed from certain angles. For the price I am very happy with it but I am dissappointed with the shrinkage. I would not use this in the main areas of a home, it still looks like vinyl flooring, but for RVs, basements, playrooms etc, anywhere vinyl would normally be used, I like this product.

Comments about Tranquility 1.5mm South Perry Pine Resilient:

I bought this product for the price and that it was good for applying over painted cement in a basement. I have an in-home salon and needed something that wouldn't bubble if water got on it. I ordered it Tuesday night and picked it up Thursday. Although it was peel and stick, I was advised by a contractor friend to also use vinyl adhesive. I used a very thin layer, let it tack, and the peeled and applied the planks. It was very easy to work with and I scored it with a knife and bent it to break the cut.I also used a small space heater and hair dryer to keep the room warm and help the adhesive tack faster. If I were doing this anywhere else in my home, I probably would not have used the adhesive. Once I got started with the project, it went really fast.

Service & Delivery comments:

I ordered Tuesday night, online and Picked up Thursday afternoon. I did not receive an email saying my flooring was in, so I called myself. The guy at the store said he thought he saw it in the warehouse and would call me back. I didn't receive a call, but took a chance going later that day. The store was very busy and he said he hadn't been able to get through all the calls that day yet. It was slightly crazy there, but I felt the deals were worth it.

I love how my floors came out! I recently purchased a new home with tile flooring through out the whole house; as much as I wanted hardwood floors, it just wasn't in the budget, I saw this product online and thought "why not" price was good and seemed simple enough to work with.... turns out it was a great decision! I love how they look! I recently did the bedrooms by myself and was easier than I expected, I would definitely recommend!

Loved this from photos on this website and love now that we've installed throughout our entire first floor. We're first time home buyers. We closed on our house 4 days ago and have done many cosmetic renovations over the course of the weekend. The flooring took a big chunk of that time - leave yourself time, and ask friends to help. Staggering in a random pattern looks perfect! Get the seams as close together as possible. We used a roller and spray adhesive to help in the process although many people say you don't need extra glue. Looks just like I wanted it to; looks great!

Comments about Tranquility 1.5mm South Perry Pine Resilient:

We used the tiles in a long semi heated entry way. It was easy to put down and looks great. We installed on a 80 degree day, was fine. It really gives a realistic look when all finished. Everyone has loved it that comes over. We drove our truck to pick up the 8 boxes we needed. The boxes were so small and narrow, we could of hauled them on a motorcycle. We had a giggle over it. Thin, small package, but a big look that i'm very pleased with.[...] We purchased a bucket of glue at a local hardware store - But of course there are 50 kinds to pick from. Not sure if we got the right one, but we had a hard time making the flooring stick. I see a couple spots where i will have to pay attention too. This would of all been eliminated if they would of been able to sell us the glue on the spot and explained to us how to use. Why have the flooring and no glue to go with it....? I almost think it would of been better sticking to the painted concrete floor, instead of using the glue. Don't be fooled by how thin and "cheap" the product looks in the box, it looks great on the floor and easy to install. Make sure to have a heavy roller to go over the floor to make sure the tiles are down. We reneted one for about 4 hours for under fifteen dollars at a rent-al place. This was my first purchase from Lumber Liq. and i will be back for future projects. The guys working were great.

Comments about Tranquility 1.5mm South Perry Pine Resilient:

I needed to install about 300 square feet of new flooring in a room we wanted to use for my daughter's new bedroom, and I was fairly price sensitive. The room had carpet tile that was around 12 years old. My first choice was to install laminate flooring, but the room is on the second floor and the subfloor plywood is not very smooth, so an underlayment would be required, adding to the cost. I thought about taking the existing carpet tile, turning it upside down (carpet side down toward the plywood and rubber side up) and laying the laminate on top of that. The problem is that there would be too much give, and over time the laminate would start to crack along the seams as the boards moved relative to each other.

I have installed hundreds of square feet of laminate flooring, but this is the first time I've used vinyl plank flooring. It is especially easy to install since you do not need a saw – only a utility knife, a good pair of scissors, a straight edge, a pencil and a carpenter's square. The trick with this flooring is with the subflooring – it must be in good, smooth condition – any imperfections will show right through the 2mm vinyl. Since the underlying plywood was not completely smooth, I thought of 3 options. I could take up the carpet tile, throw it away, and work with the plywood to make it smooth (too much work). I could take up the carpet tile, throw it away, and install an underlayment of luan plywood (which would increase the per square foot price significantly). Instead I decided to take each piece of carpet tile, turn it over, thoroughly clean the underside (creating a clean, rubber underlayment), and stick the new vinyl flooring to that. I figured that the underside of the carpet tile was designed to work with adhesive (material, texture) and that since the carpet part of the tile was facing down it would "smooth out" the rough spots in the plywood floor. Installation was a snap, and so far (2 weeks later), there have been no problems. The floor has a little "spring" to it, which feels a bit funny at first but my daughter loves it (easier on her cell phone when she drops it!). The vinyl plank does not have the same concern as the hard laminate (breaking along the seams) because the vinyl pieces do not snap together – they install right next to each other so have the freedom to move independently.

My guess is that installing the vinyl plank in this manner voids all warranties, but I don't mind. If a piece of this vinyl goes bad it is EXTREMELY easy to replace – unlike the extreme hassle of replacing a plank of snap together laminate flooring (having to remove all the flooring from the wall to the bad piece, then replacing it all again.

We don't plan to use this floor forever, just 3-4 years, so it was a good, inexpensive choice for us.

Comments about Tranquility 1.5mm South Perry Pine Resilient:

I paid a professional to install this floor for me so I can't say anything about how easy or hard it is to install. We chose this floor primarily because we needed something indestructible and worry-free. We have 2 small children, a dog, and high traffic, and we just couldn't see ourselves installing some expensive, high-maintenance, flooring that would require constant TLC. Leaky sippy cups, spilled Cool-Aid, ornery Jack Russells, Hot Wheels, muddy shoes... this floor takes it all and doesn't care. It doesn't stain, bubble, get cloudy, scratch or anything. And it wipes clean with a wet mop.
I was a little worried that it might have a cheap look to it, because generally, you get what you pay for. But I have to say, this stuff looks great! Great pattern, great texture, and great color.
The only way you can tell that it isn't wood is that it doesn't "feel" like hard wood. It has a slightly softer feel to it. For example, it doesn't clack the same way hard wood does when you walk on it with hard shoes like high heels or dress shoes. Not that I care.
In summary: I really like this stuff.

Comments about Tranquility 1.5mm South Perry Pine Resilient:

This flooring came together way better than expected. We bought about 300 sq feet for a small finished den/office in our basement. The directions were easy to understand, and the planks were a breeze to put down. We rolled them out as we went along, rather than waiting until the end, to try and get them to stick better. We put them down right over concrete and did not use any adhesive - 95% of the planks stuck really well. We had to replace 3 or 4 after a couple of days, they just didn't have any stick to them, but we had leftovers so it was no problem. That was my number one concern, so I was pleased that almost all of them stuck really well. It is really easy to remove a plank and replace it. It took us about 5 hours to do this, we had never laid any kind of flooring before, and most of our time was spent cutting around closets and an alcove section in the room. Just laying the planks takes no time at all. Ditto to what others said about opening several boxes and mixing them, after awhile you will start to recognize some plank patterns and won't want to lay two of the same near each other. The floor has been down about 3 weeks, so I can't comment on durability, but it seems pretty durable so far. We have two cats that run all over the place playing, and have had no scratches. Overall, amazing value, very easy to install, looks great. Everyone who has seen the floor has commented on how great it looks.

We just finished installing about 800 feet of this in 3 bedrooms and a living room. I have never, ever installed floor. Based on the reviews I thought I could do it and I am so glad I did. It went down easy. The only thing is that you have to clean the floor. If you do not, and there is dust, you will be working hard to keep it down. I should have probably used some of the adhesive and if I put any more down I will go ahead and purchase some just for problem areas. My husband was not sold on me getting this, but after it is down he really loves it. He hated the laminate we had in another house and was worried it was going to look like that, and is so pleased it doesn't. It cuts easy and goes down well, just be sure to roll like it says. We used a granite rolling pin and then we also worked on our knees on a towel and would apply pressure as we went along. It is also durable. No way I would put down hardwood floors with my kids who are very rough on things! So this was a great alternative and I don't have to worry if they spill something and don't fess up right away.

Comments about Tranquility 1.5mm South Perry Pine Resilient:

I debated over buying this product for months. I read every single review many times to figure out if I wanted to buy it. I finally did and just installed it last weekend in 2 bedrooms. We have about 1,000 sq ft to cover and had to rip out nasty, dirty carpet in a house we just bought, so the price was great. I worried about installation even though everyone gave it great reviews. It installed just as easy as everyone said. It cuts easy and is so easy to put down. This is the first time I have ever done anything like this and was so pleased that I could tackle it myself. We did one room a day and it took about 5 hours for each bedroom. The key is really cleaning your floor well. Under the nasty carpet we pulled up was a wood subfloor. It was dusty so we made sure that we cleaned it as best we could. There were a few areas that we had to go back over and really roll to get to stick down due to carpet glue we couldn't completely get off. I can't state how well it will wear since we just put it in, but really hoping it lasts! We plan to do the living room and another bedroom this weekend. I will have to add pictures when I get them uploaded.
I did make the mistake of dragging a piece of furniture on one part that did scratch it, but that was my fault. other than that, no problems and so happy I have it! My mom was very skeptical when I said I was going to put it down but she loves it!

Installed 800 sqft, looks great for the price. I have had issues with thermal expansion. I didn't have heat or AC in spring in Oklahoma. Installed one room at 50 degrees, and another (the next day) at 97 degrees. The 50 degree room buckled at 95 degrees, ok now at 70. The 97 degree room has 1/16" gaps at all end joints. I had bonding issues (possibly due to temprature) over plywood. Liquid bond enhancer and a 70 lb roller seemed to take care of it.

Comments about Tranquility 1.5mm South Perry Pine Resilient:

We installed this product in my massage therapy studio. It was so easy to install- just peel and stick (making the appropriate cuts for corners, ends and angled walls). It is beautiful- so beautiful that we'd love to install it in other rooms in the house! Our only recommendation is to use the additional adhesive that you can purchase through Lumber Liquidators. But since the room isn't a high traffic area, it's not a problem.
The look is amazing, just what we were looking for- I'd describe it as rustic, farmhouse even.

Service & Delivery comments:

The customer service at the Gilbert, AZ store was great- very helpful and knowledgeable. We picked the product up at the store so we didn't have any delivery.

Comments about Tranquility 1.5mm South Perry Pine Resilient:

Installed directly to concrete floor. Did not use any additional adhesive, just cleaned the concrete well by mopping many times to remove all dust, etc. The directions show a pattern to follow, but I chose to apply randomly and it looks great with very little waste. We did not have a roller to apply pressure to ensure a good stick, so we used a leftover slab of granite from the kitchen counter (sink cutout) which weighs about 60 lb., put it on a soft thick cloth so as not to catch the seams and drug it around the room as we went. Worked perfectly.

Comments about Tranquility 1.5mm South Perry Pine Resilient:

Based on all the positive reviews, I convinced myself and my husband that I had to have this flooring. Especially since it was on 'sale' below their normal price (note: it goes on sale every couple of weeks).

First off, just remember this is bendable vinyl(plastic-feel), not even a laminate. It's like a thick sticker. I saw this in the store but still convinced myself it would look great once down.

I was just too excited. We purchased it for our entire downstairs floor areas. We just did the dining room and were not impressed as hoped. It looks nice for the price, but it also looks cheap to me (vinyl floors). But, it definitely beats the carpet. We have not installed this in the rest of the rooms we were planning on so we have a few hundred square feet left. Lumber Liquidators was kind enough to offer us store credit, or return minus the stocking fees. But we're just going to tile everything else.

If you are looking for a dirt cheap floor that's easy and fast to install, I'd definitely recommend this. Really, all you need are an exacto knife and clean floors. However, I wish we would have spent a bit more and at least got laminate wood flooring.

We used the vinyl plank floor in a basement bar area and bathroom. Laid it over concrete. Sealed the concrete first with a sealer/adhesive primer. The plank was easy to lay; just pull planks from several boxes as you go to get a good mix, and watch where the knotholes are in the planks so you don't repeat an obvious pattern. It looks good--from a distance it looks like wood, up close it probably won't fool anyone, but hey, we paid [$] a square foot for it, and it's in the basement. :)

I live in south Florida where sand is everywhere. My dogs are constantly dragging in sand and I was concerned that the finish would scratch easily. Well, the floor has been down for over a year & it still looks like new. Installation was so easy - and fast. I am going to rip out my old ceramic tile & put resiliant flooring throught out the house. Also, everyone thinks it is real wood.

Comments about Tranquility 1.5mm South Perry Pine Resilient:

We purchased the flooring to replace approximately 1800sf of carpet, including hallway, bedrooms, closets, living and dining rooms. My husband installed most of it since I was painting and helped finish in our bedroom which is very large. All he did was prep the floor by vacuuming, light wash the subfloor and put down glue only for the spots where there was a deep groove. It is really peel, stick, move on. The floor went down easy, a couple planks needed something heavy for a little while, and a utility knife cut the planks easily. After it's all finished, I would recommend going over the edges with a magic eraser to make sure any glue from the underside didn't stick on the planks because dirt will collect faster on it. After that, just use a regular mop. People really can't believe it's not real wood. I like that it's not smooth like some laminates can be. We have had the floor for about one month now and have 4 children 9 and under, two with special needs who are not so careful with things and a dog. The floor is still holding its own. p.s. we thought it might be too dark looking at the l.l. website, but it's surprisingly neutral and the knots make it so much more natural looking.

This flooring is and awesome buy for the price. The range of colors in the planks make it a great product if you have other wood items in your home that might not all match (light and dark wood finishes look great with this). Installation was pretty easy and even cutting around doorways and moldings wasn't too hard - much easier than cutting wood or laminate! When we had people over to see it for the first time they actually were puzzled at how the flooring seemed to be at about the same level as the vinyl we didn't cover over, because of the texturing on the planks it gives more of that wood feel than a vinyl one. This is a great flooring option for anyone on a budget or even anyone who wants great looking floors that are easy to install yourself!

My mom just came over to look at it and said it looked better than the laminate in our son's room. Love this product! I am also covering a storage cabinet in our room so it blends in better. It looks amazing too. I would highly recommend!

It would've taken quite a bit less time had I called a buddy for some help. The flooring went in very easily, didn't take any really technical knowledge and was totally finished in one day... including trim & clean up. The wow factor is big considering how inexpensive it was and how quickly & easily it was installed.

We put this great flooring down, after pulling up most of the carpets in the house, due to a large menagerie of dogs and cats having ruined it (a total necessity!) In short, we couldn't be happier with the result. We did put a layer of mastic underneath, at the recommendation of our sales rep at the LL store, and, as a result, we have no warping or edges pulling up, at all. This flooring is absolutely animal-friendly, and so very easy to keep clean. We are extremely happy with our purchase!

We got this product because of our dog. We have a 70lbs husky that likes to slide on the floors when he runs, so we didn't want to spend 10K+ on floors that were going to scratch. We also were wanting a color that masked hair and dirt. This product does just that. No scratches, no visible dirt or hair and no hassel to use special cleaning products. We did 720sq in two days over concrete and the outcome was better than expected. Supper easy and everyone who sees it thinks it's real. It doesn't sound like cheap laminate when walked on and it's at about half the cost. We even got my father in-law to put it in his house. Couldn't be happier!

Comments about Tranquility 1.5mm South Perry Pine Resilient:

We purchased our home 3 years ago. The carpet was absolutely terrible, dirty and worn. I did not want to replace with carpet so looked for something I could afford. We ripped the carpet out of the dining room and found it was OSB underneath. I had ordered enough of this flooring to do the dining room, living room, and hallway, but canceled the order when I was told not to install the flooring over OSB. I decided to experiment and order enough to do the dining room. First, I had some left over deck paint and put a good coat on the floor after cleaning it thoroughly. I put felt pads on the furniture, moved it to one side, laid down the floor and moved the furniture to the other side. I was amazed how fast it went down and how great it looked. Two months later I was very happy with it and ordered more and put that in my living room, hallway and back bedroom. There were a few places where the OSB was warped or bulging at the seams. I sanded that down as best I could. Because the vinyl planks have a rough texture, the imperfections show very little and if they do, it adds to the character of the floor. I love rustic and this is definitely rustic. In some places where the OSB met at the seams, I did use a little vinyl glue, overall the flooring is staying down very well. I would recommend putting felt on the legs or bottoms of any furniture to avoid scratching. Everyone who sees my new floor, loves it. By the way I am a 69 year old great grandmother and did the job all by myself accept for pulling the old carpet up.

I have wanted a new kitchen floor since we moved into our house 7 years ago. Being a stay-at-home mom and only having one income in the family, I've had to wait. We finally decided we couldn't wait any longer and looked around. I had my heart set on a chocolate brown floor for a couple of years now. After looking around, I had decided on the dark brown one from LL. Then I read reviews on this site for the South Perry Pine and when I saw the pictures some reviewers added to their reviews I decided to go with that. And am I ever glad I did. It is gorgeous!!!! It looks like real wood (read several reviews that said that and thought, "yeah, right" but it's true). My family got tired of hearing me saying "I love this floor" as we were installing, but I really do. My dad was helping and he is a bit skeptical about some things and he even said, "I have to admit, this is a nice-looking floor. I'm impressed." Big words from him.I am going to use it in other rooms as well. Can't speak to durability yet but my two young, active boys will test that quickly! The price also can not be beat. For $.89 a sq/ft, it CAN NOT be beat. Would highly recommend to anyone.

As a first time do it yourselfer, I found this very easy to lay down. I applied the flooring to a floor leveling product and wow! Looks like real wood. Has a great texture to it as well. I would recommend buying a rotary cutter for easy precise cutting.

Comments about Tranquility 1.5mm South Perry Pine Resilient:

I installed 700 sq ft in my living/dining room, hallway and family room about 2-1/2 months ago. My subfloor was in bad shape so I did prep work: hammered down nails, used wood filler for big flaws, vacuumed really well, and used vinyl/carpet glue with the flooring. It came out really nice and is staying down well. One thing, however. I have a 15-lb dog who loves to chase the ball down the hall. The other evening the sun hit the floor just right and I noticed tbe hallway was all scratched. I put down a runner carpet and it should be protected now but keep this in mind if you have a dog. I only see the scratches when the sun hits just right but I was surprised because the floor seems so durable. This is by far my favorite flooring ever. It looks way more like real wood than laminate, is worry-free compared to real wood, and is warmer-looking than tile.

The price was right for this product. I purchased this to cover up a hideous vinyl floor in my bathroom. Ideally I would love stone but my budget wouldn't allow for that. Another reviewer mentioned that their local store recommended an adhesive? I did not use an adhesive. That is one of the things that drew me to this product - NOT having to use a messy adhesive. As long as you properly prepare your subfloor (level - no dust, cracks and pits repaired), then the peel and stick should be fine. Be sure to roll the floor when done to help the bonding.

The floor looks absolutely wonderful and people think it is hardwood! I installed this in our living room, hallway, and 3 bedrooms and we are absolutely thrilled.

I don't think there is a better value out there - especially if you catch this on sale!

I had previously read the reviews for this product, it was often recommended to use a vinyl adhesive and I did so. I used this product to replace my basement carpet, this flooring is much more efficient than carpet and simple to install. I installed this myself without any help and I think it looks awesome! Strongly recommend, its perfect for basements!

Comments about Tranquility 1.5mm South Perry Pine Resilient:

Installed in my hallway. First repaired holes in the concrete from tack strips and let dry for 24 hours. Then vaccumed and used paper towels and spray cleaner to get rid of dust. Added a thin layer of adhesive to the floor per recommendation of LL store employee (not certain why cc on website says this is not needed) to prevent curling. Good prep is everything. Floor looks great and most folks will probably not realize it is laminate, not wood. I like nice rugs and have a runner to go on top of floor. I expect this to help on wear and reduce the possibility my shoes / heels will do any damage. I did not want to put the money into a wood floor and cover it with rugs. This is an excellent value, especially if you purchase on sale as I did. Planning to do the bedrooms next. I am a female and did not have any problems doing the install. Go visit your local store if you have questions, mine was great about answering questions and giving advice (Thanks K)

Comments about Tranquility 1.5mm South Perry Pine Resilient:

I am building a man cave in my 3 car garage and just laid this floor in the bar area. I bought it because it was so cheap, looked easy to clean and easy to replace individual planks in case of damage. Not only is all that true, but it really looks a lot like hardwood floors! Unlike laminate, this floor actually has a textured surface so the light hits it unevenly like a real wood grain. It was so easy to install and I could cut the boards with paper scissors! Almost no waste, too. I'd estimate 5% tops for a rectangular room. Let me end with an example of where usually hard jobs in flooring became easy. I had to install a board around the end of my bar, cutting a two foot notch an inch deep into the middle of the board. This would be a gruelling session with a table saw for laminate/hardwood flooring. Instead, after tracing the notch I simply cut with scissors and slapped it down. Good stuff.

We put this in our basement and it is absolutely beautiful. The price was excellent! One thing I would warn buyers about: The instructions on the box recommend laying it in a brick pattern. Real wood would never be laid this way and when we dry laid it that way if looked very fake. Lay it randomly. It takes a little longer and is more effort than it might seem, but it well worth it. Even our deck contractor thought it was hardwood. What a compliment!

Just had these planks installed in a rental property. They look good and were easy to install. I am concerned that some of them did not stick well (The floor surface was prepared beforehand.) Might use a thin coat of adhesive to insure adhesion, otherwise they are beautiful. There is an odor from the product, but I imagine it will go away with time once the air conditioner is turned on and begins circulating air. Can't speak to durability yet.

Had putred green/teal carpet (came with the house) and needed to replace it. Found a GREAT deal on this [$] so bought it for almost the entire house. We ripped carpet out, cleaned and installed an entire bedroom in about 5-6 hours, and continued the project for parts of a week. Overall, have installed about 700-800 sq ft and LOVE IT!! Gorgeous wood look without the hassle of maintenance. Definitely suggest using a papercutter (had a FISKARS one from scrapbooking) - it makes cuts super fast and straight. Can't wait to finish the last two rooms and invite people over!! And just a side note, my mother, good friend, and I (female) installed most all of it ourselves; my dad mostly helped with heavy furniture and finish/trim work. Definitely doable for an easy, quick, GORGEOUS makeover!!

Comments about Tranquility 1.5mm South Perry Pine Resilient:

It is very easy to peel-and-stick this product. However, you absolutely must have a smooth, clean, and level substrate. I put it upstairs, and after removing the old carpet I found out that the substrate was Oriented Segment Board (OSB) (compressed wood waste, basically). The planks could not be stuck onto that... I had to purchase separately underlaynment (LAUAN plywood from [...], still don't know if it was the most suitable choice, but was cheap), and install it (cutting out the weird shapes of the rooms was a nightmare surpassed only by the huge amount of screws I had to use to screw it down to the OSB - two 5lb boxes of them). (Also, every little bulge on the substrate is seen from certain angles after installation. If I had to do it all over again, I would have probably used a self-leveling compound instead of the lauan underlayment. Fortunately, the pattern is so rich and dark that such defects are not readily noticable.)Only then I could actually "peel-and-stick". For some reason some of the planks don't stay down, but warp upwards in the middle along their length. It is very possible that it is the high temperature. It is June in Las Vegas, and the heat goes well above 95 degrees. There was/is still no air conditioning in the areas where I installed. This could be a factor why the planks don't stay down too well - the glue on the planks tends to get much softer from the heat. (I don't think the glue ever completely dries up/cures/hardens or whatever is the proper term). I should note that I installed in in one place downstairs in a closet directly over concrete. It is well airconditioned there. The planks have not moved at all, and are laying down perfectly. Now that installation is complete, I have to say it looks wonderful - there is not a single visitor that has not initially thought it is real wood or laminate at least. The color and the patterns are extremely stylish and authentic looking. I am not sorry I got the product, it looks classy. I just hope that the issues I have with the warping are by reason of heat and will go away when the air conditioning is functioning.I hope this review helps in your choice making.

Comments about Tranquility 1.5mm South Perry Pine Resilient:

I was one of the lucky ones to get this flooring for [$]a SQFT. My daughter was over last night and just loved the look of it and wants to put it in her hall and bedrooms. She saw how easy it was as I was installing it while she was here. I see the price is back up to [$] a SF so she won't be getting as good a deal but still comparing the instalation to other types of flooring and the cost this stuff beats everything I've ever used. It is so easy to use and so very inexpensive you can't go wrong. It even has the texture of real wood and can fool most people to thinking by look and feel that it is. I think it looks better than any other fake woodfloor on the market. It would be easy to replace a damaged piece. I have a ton of grandchildren and this should be perfect for the them. I won't be embarrassed with the look of this floor. It has a high end look. You'd never know it was a stickum down material by looking at it. I am so happy I ran across this stuff and bought enough to do many rooms with it, now I wished I bought more, I may still buy more for a few more rooms, maybe the whole 2100 SF of floor space. I hate carpet so this would work for me. I'm aearly 50's widow and I didn't have a man around to help. I'm handy and have a construction background but I think those that don't shouldn't have any problems installing this flooring. If you can paint a wall you should beable to lay this flooring. I give this a 1 out of 1-5, 5 being most difficult to install. Just clean your hands often. I use oil first, rub the glue loose then wash with soap. Hope this helps, Sue

We are absolutely not skilled in this type of work, but we found this product easy to install once we got the hang of it. My suggestions: be sure and prep the floor with a good primer after cleaning it, and do your long runs first, then measure and cut the shorter planks to fill in. We just finished the install so I don't know how well it will hold up, but it is beautiful and easy to clean.

This flooring is the greatest! We purchased this because of the "resilient" name. We have dogs and did not want to spend a fortune on "real" hardwood just to have it scratched up. It was so easy to install, after putting down the subflooring, it took us about 8 hours to do a 22x18 room. The best thing to use to cut the pieces is a paper cutter. It worked wonderful. Everyone that sees it thinks it is wood! It can be a little slippery. I put felt pads under all the furniture and they slid pretty easily.. ordering a rug for the center of the floor! Another hint is to use a tack cloth to wipe off the subfloor before installing a section. The less dust, the better the stick! We now want to install it in the kitchen and laundry room!

This floor went down easily, looks like real wood, is much easier to keep clean than oak, and was unbelievably inexpensive. Initially I bought it because our budget is so tight. I plan to buy more of this product to do all my bedrooms, as soon as I am able. On top of everything else, the Tranquility brand is made from recyled materials, so it is GREEN (eco friendly) and it just can't get any better than this. [...]

During the process of finishing / remodeling my basement, I decided to give it a try on this product in two unfinished areas (storage room and electrical / AV closet). Installation was easy, extremely pleased with the final results. Very easy to clean. After the installation, make sure to use a heavy roller to squeeze out the bubbles between the sticky layer and the bare floor.

I have tiled my kitchen, dining, living and hallways....I put in laminate in my master bedroom....still have linolium in laundry room, master bath....did those 2 rooms in a snap.....easy install, just be patient with your cuts and ANYONE can do this floor....have my daughters rooms and her playroom still have carpet and with a 3 year old, lots of drops and "oopsies", we have 2 dogs, so the carpets are not in great shape, will tackle those rooms in the coming weekend.....I was hesitant to buy the peel and stick planks as I have used the peel and stick tiles about 12 years ago, they were terrible....these look FANTASTIC....feel great, the finish is very nice looking....will fool many thinking it is laminate or even real hardwood....

Was weary about purchasing these floors..but very glad I did. You have to look very close or feel to know they aren't real wood. Very easy to install, just make sure you clean subfloor well and remove all oils (rubbing alcohol with water works well), and you get each plank as close together as possible. Subfloor must also be very level or bumps, dips and humps will show. The test now is to see how well they endure every day traffic and how well they stay glued down.

We wanted to replace the ugly pink carpet in the bedroom our 7 year-old was moving into. Having two boys and two large dogs, messes occur often and we wanted something other than carpeting. We were looking for cheap laminate and came accross the resilent flooring from Lumber Liquidators. It looked nice online and we thought we'd give it a try. We figured that as long as it lasts until the kids are a little older, we'd be happy.
My husband layed down a subfloor and I installed the first half of the flooring. It was very easy to get tight together and it looks beautiful. My husband finished the second half and we are thrilled with it. It looks more realistic that the laminate in our kitchen. We really couldn't be happier with it. We bought enough to do our younger son's room next.

After tearing out bathroom carpet, then one inch tile that was glued to the subfloor (I was going to recycle the tile...hahaha...I'd still be at it) I decided to give this product a try as the floor needed leveling anyway and had the material I bought for the tile. I wanted a "new" bathroom for Christmas visits.
I used an adhesive as I thought with it being the bathroom, it would hold up better.

The adhesive made the job a bit harder, but the floor laid easily and looks great, even though the room is not square I was able to cut pieces in with almost no waste whatsoever. I have a box left, in fact for my next project, the kitchen!

Two finish carpenter friends were surprised and one could not believe it was not real and wants some too!

Our carpet in the living/dining room had seen better days, and I really wanted to replace it with hardwood. However, we just don't have the cash to do that right now. We got the online flyer about this flooring and I insisted that we buy it as an interim measure. It took my husband a little over a day to replace our nasty carpet (our living/dining room is about 400 sq. ft.) and it looks absolutely fantastic! I am so thrilled -- and really, so is he!

This floor was so easy to put down. I did a dry run for the first couple of rows to see what it would look like. Thought it looked great and started to lay it down. It was simple with the peel and stick. The easiest floor I've done so far and but probably not the last floor. The cost was excellent, less than what I thought I would spend. The only thing that I didn't like is that there was no quarter round to finish it off. It looks great. sorry I don't have a picture to show.

I really love this floor, I was worried that it might be too dark, but it is beautiful. I installed most of it myself, no bad for a 45 yr old woman. Pulling the old carpet, pad and cleaning the cement took more time than laying the actual flooring. I ran a chalk line in the center and started in the middle with very little waste. Will be going back tomorrow to buy more, will be doing the family room and my bedroom.

Used on a staircase instead of laminate wood or hardwood which was too pricey to install. Plus reviews on laminate stair noses say they break off easily. This was a great substitute and looks/feels just like real wood.
The sticky portion could be better. Used liquid nails to secure it better.

Stick on vinyl flooring has a bad rep and when I bought my house, I could see why. The previous owners had applied ugly stick on vinyl tiles on top of the wood floors! I started removing them and I saw why they did this: the floors where damaged and warped underneath. At this time, I have no budget to pull up the floors and lay a new subfloor and get engineered planks like I want to but I could not live with those ugly floors. I bought the Tranquility stick on floor and it is amazing. It looks so much like real floor and it was a breeze to install. I can certainly be proud of these floors until I can afford my hardwood which I will buy at Lumber Liquidators.

Good stuff. The look is really cool, modern yet rustic, just what we were going for. It was peel and stick laminate, so it took all of 6 hours to do 350 sq ft, 2 days total to do 630 sq ft, including removing the carpet and cleaning the plywood underneath. It cleans easily and looks like saloon flooring, so I really have no complaints. We'll see in a year, but it looks high quality and hasn't warped yet!

We had installed this over existing WHITE linoleum. Instead of starting in the middle as the directions stated, we started on one of the walls to insure that we started with a straight line. It was about 1/4" away from the baseboard which was fine because we were replacing the quarter round anyway. It turned out fantastic. You cannot tell that it is vinyl. The texture is so real and the color is beautiful and warm. We installed in the mud-room (laundry room), kitchen and dining room. We took 13 boxes home and had 3 boxes left. We did all the areas in twelve hours total. Very impressed with this product, I would have never guessed it would have come out this beautiful.

I needed something that could hold up to dogs and kids in a high traffic hallway. Carpet would not stay clean and it needed to withstand water from people walking from the shower, etc to the bedrooms.
This was a rock bottom price, so what the heck - if it looked too bad, we could cover over it with something else later, right? There won't be a need. It scores and snapped beautifully - allowing us to install with very little waste. The next week, I showed the house to an employee of a home center. She thought it was real wood! LOL - what a complement!! Looks so great that I am now putting this in both kids rooms. Awesome product.
Only a few places were problematic - largely due to some amount of dust that we were unable to remove or imperfections in the subfloor. Keep the subfloor clean and recess all nails and bumps and it will look great!
