I installed these floors 13 years ago and all in all, they are in good shape. The floors only now need refinishing. I have had dogs and kids running and playing and they still look pretty good. Biggest problem is FADING on the south side facing room. Nine foot wide door allows much light to enter. The wood went from a red-ish color to a light tan color. Area rugs leave shading.

Did my complete upstairs, bedrooms and hall. Excellent quality, no waste at all. My only complaint with this floor is that it scratches very easily. I also have Brazilian Koa which scratches easily also. You must put felt on all furniture even if it has existing plastic protectors as they will also scratch the floor. Time consuming but easily to install. I would have rated it 5 stars if it weren't for the scratching.

We had a pro install about 700 square feet in our living room, dining room, breakfast room, and hallways a month ago. The quality of the flooring was excellent--only a couple of noogies in the finish--and the finished product is absolutely beautiful. We are beyond pleased. Our installer was very impressed with the quality of the flooring as well.

We had about 700 sq ft professionally installed in our living room, dining room, bkfst nook, and hallways a week ago. We absolutely love the colors and grain patterns in the flooring. Couldnt be happier with the product. Only a very few small blemishes in the finish (less than five), very little waste. Our installer was impressed with the quality of the flooring. He has used Bellawood in his own home.

Nice finish and color. Some of the pieces definitely should have been caught by quality control at the factory. Just installed and wouldnt know about the scratches and durability. Hope it lasts many more years to come.
Had to rent my own truck to haul wood to home. Wish their was inhouse delivery available.

The final product looks great but is easily scratched by dog nails. I would definitely not choose this product again as long as I had dogs in the house. Also, when packaged, the boards all rub against each other creating very disturbing scuff marks on almost every board. They really should put thin foam sheets between each layer of boards in the boxes. The product looks great, it's just not dog friendly.

The beautiful red tones get accentuated as the flooring gets exposed to light. I recommend not covering it at all with a carpet for a few weeks after installation, as the area underneath it will not change. We ended up with a lighter square area where a carpet had been, removing the carpet and leaving the floor exposed gradually eliminated the light area. Another possibility to avoid uneven color would be to expose all flooring to light for several weeks before installation. It would be nice if the factory did this "pre-conditioning" [...]

Floors were purchased online during the end of April sale and were a great price! [...]Flooring was installed by my personal contractor in dining room and living room (approx 500 sq ft). Installation went very smooth. Some pieces split upon being nailed but this was expected. [...] there was barely any waste while installing these floors! Very happy with our decision to purchase Bellawood! Thank you Lumber Liquidators!
I was suprised to see only one, yes one, delivery man show up to the house to deliver in excess of 20 boxes of flooring. Nonetheless he was great and very professional.

The floor is exceptionally beautiful. So glad we made this decision. Price for an inferior product at [...] was more and their installers didn't to near what our installer offered to do. Very little for us to do to make this happen. Only problem was having to hire a plumber to reposition a pedestal sink.

Many friends have commented on how good the floor looks.
I installed it at a 45 degree angle, instead of straight (parallel to a wall), this make it look distinctive. Top quality, excellent finish.

I was a little uneasy at first considering the low cost of this hardwood, but upon taking the plunge and installing the floor, I saw that the boxes of wood had a nice variation of colors, grains and sizes. I completed a 700 sq ft family room and office in about 3 days. Waste was minimal (probably less than 2%) since we could utilize the various lengths to finish each row. There were a few slightly warped boards that we saved for other projects, but the milling and finish was consistent and the quality was excellent. The weight of the boxes are not for the mildly-able. Add time and have a helper to schlep them about for 2nd floor jobs.

The beauty of the wood reveals itself at the end of the installation. There are so many grains and hues that it's a bit scary when installing.
One thing I noticed about the cherry is that it's so hard that you need good tools to install. The upside is that there is very little warping.

My husband installed this Brazillian Cherry floor throughout the first floor of our house. It is beautiful and I love it! He was very reluctant to use this product but agrees it is beautiful. I have two big dogs and it does scratch more than I thought it would. My husband had never installed a floor before but said with the right tools it was fairly easy and straight forward. He was happy with the quality of the flooring in the boxes, no warping or twisting of the boards. Anyhow, we are now putting an in-law on and we are going to use the same flooring for the living room and bedrooms.

[...]. Delivered as promised but short one box. Called store and manager apologized and said he would deliver it personally the next day (more than 40 miles). Since we were not going to need it immediately I stated it wasn't necessary but he insisted on personal service and was there the next day as promised. The installer had never used a Lumber Liquidator product and was skeptical at first when I told him what we were using. He has totally changed his mind and agreed that it was a major upgrade to our home's appearance and value. I would totally recommend Lumber Liquidator and their professional, friendly staff.

I was very impressed with the long lengths of the boards in the boxes and how straight the boards were. I installed the product myself, (600 square feet) and had very little difficulty. The wood is very dense, so there was some cracking, but once I got used to the pneumatic nailer, I was able to minimize the cracking based on how hard I was striking the nailer with the mallet. If you hit the nailer too hard or at the wrong angle, that would increase the chance of cracking. There was very little waste as well. Excellent product

WE BOUGHT OUR FLOORS AT THE CONYERS LOCATION IN GA. WE WERE HELPED BY DAVID AND HASSAN. THEY WERE SO HELPFUL. VERY FULL OF KNOWLEDGE AND STOOD BEHING THEIR PRODUCT. Installed the Brazilian Cherry on every single square inch of our first floor - 1300 sq ft. It looks beautiful and very rich - We are glad we made this choice; the finish is smooth and joints are perfect. The wood is very hard and when nailing down, it does crack the tongue; the installer said that it happens when the wood is hard; not just cherry.
We are very happy with the product; we just need to see how it will hold up over the years.
The product was delivered on time and the installers did a good job(Quality Woodpecker Flooring); the wastage factor was less than 4%; so we have more than 4 boxes left over.
The guys are LL in East Brunswick are good, friendly and knowledgeable.
My only comment is that the delivery needs to happen to inside the home and not to the garage or curbside. My most difficult task was to haul 82 boxes inside from the garage!

We put this product in our family room. I now sit and stare at them on a regular basis! We did have them professionally installed. The contractor commented that it was the hardest wood he had ever worked with and it took a couple of adjustments of his gun to get the nails to go through completely. He said once that was done it was smooth sailing. 17 boxes used with about 8 boards that could not be used...fabulous investment!
Material was on sale and by the time we ordered there was not enough for our job. We were having install done while on vacation and the guys at Blaine assured us we would have all the same lot and it would be in before we left. They came through on all of it! Great price, great service!

We installed this in our master bedroom, office, master hallway & kitchen. The quality is great and Bellawood packaging is very good. After hand selecting each piece, we had under 5% waste. We love the finish and it is easier to keep clean than carpeting. You must keep in mind that it is a natural wood product, with some grain differences and will ding or scratch. We find that all this adds even greater interest and any scratch or ding can usually be repaired easily. This was a great choice.
Our delivery was right on time. They delivered the product inside and stacked it as requested. The delivery staff was very professional and took great care in our home. All of the product arrived in great shape. The Lumber Liquidator staff was very helpful and great to work with during this project.

Installed this flooring in my own home. Really nice flooring. Hard too. Burned up a good blade but it can be sharpened. It's 3/4" so use cleats if you lay it. Also nice that it's 3-1/4" wide. Makes the job go just a little faster!

LOVE THE WOOD. WHEN BUYING THE BRAZILAIN CHERRY YOU ARE ADVISED THAT IT WILL DARKEN AND IT STARTS FAIRLY RAPIDLY. THE DARKENING EFFECT WAS CONSIDERED IN OUR PLANNING AND WE LIKE IT..BUT IT DOES NEED TO BE A CONSIDERATION. THE WOOD IS VERY HARD AND IF APPLYING OVER AN UNEVEN SURFACE THE TONGUE'S WOULD SOMETIMES CRACK WHEN USING A FLOORING HAMMER.

As long as you take your time and make sure no boards stick up above the ajoining one (a smooth surface)then the end result will be a great looking floor(I used felt paper for schiming up several spots). Splits easy when nailed but that is because of the hardness of the wood.

Finish has a slight orange peel look. Easy to distinguish from Builders Pride which had a perferct finish.
I will not do business with Buffalo Lumber Liquidators again. This is my fourth purchase from this store and once again is was a very bad experience. I was forced to buy an additional box of flooring due to broken boards found inside of an undamaged box. I was told "10% damage inside boxes is normal so I should have expected this". I should have planned for this much scrap.
Unpleasant, unprofessional staff.

We installed 1,500 sq ft in our new addition and blended it into our existing family room. We had very little waste, and only a few problem boards (I was able to use them as filler and end pieces however). Take the time to make sure your floor is level before you start. I recommend you open each box, spread it out, and wait the recommended time before you install it. The flooring is absolutely stunning, and very easy to maintain. We've used the Lumber Liquidator floor care products to maintain the floor, and its worth the money.
Make sure your boards straight when you install it. You might be able to straighten out a slight bow with nails, but if the gap is too big, you will struggle laying out the next rows.
This is a very good product, and I don't think you can beat the price or quality anywhere.

Looks beautiful, very happy with the outcome
Took a lot longer to install than I thought but well worth it. About 10 pretty full days, not including base boards. Went fast where no trimming was needed.
Installed over 530 sqft. Tearing up carpet, tack strips and staples and getting rid of raised nails
took a lot longet than thought it would. Also cutting door jambs off and fitting edges nooks, fireplace, and corners ect.
I have a good bandsaw, miter saw,and table saw.
Fun project with much satisfaction, my wife loves it and so do I. NO more dirt under carpet!
Great product ,easy to install a little more time consuming than you think but once your done you will love it!

This floor is beautiful. It was installed by the contractor building our home, so it wasn't a do-it-yourself project. We purchased 1100 sq ft - so most of the main level of the house is covered in Brazillian cherry. It's impressive. The color is getting deeper and prettier with age and the importance of moving furniture often and not using rugs the first year is evident. Our house is lived in and we've already put a couple scratches in the floor, but we LIVE in our home; it isn't a showplace. The only negative is cleaning it. I use a microfiber dustmop as needed and a damp microfiber mop once a week. You can tell from the picture that it was really hard to keep clean when we first moved in, but the construction dust has waned and the dustmop is doing the job now.
The product arrived promptly. I ordered it online after going to a showroom to decide what I wanted. Very few pieces were unuseable (split or tongue and groove error) and we were able to return the unopened boxes from our overage. It was great to have an installer who knew the ins and outs of installing a wood floor. I would not have tackled it with my skill level.

We installed 250 sq. ft. in our family room a year ago. The floor is beautiful. We rented a pneumatic nailer and floor went down in less than a day, except for the trim.
We had to make a few compromises so the wood was at the same height as the existing kitchen tile. I settled for a few waves in a 1 sq.ft. area in exchange for the 2 floors heights matching up. If the sub-floor is not level, in an area, you will have waves until the floor gets refinished.
We used tar paper for an under layment to avoid extra height. We would have used better under layment if the finished height was not an issue. We have not had any sound problems. Using the tar paper probably made leveling the floor more challenging.
Notice I put darkens with age in pros and cons. The color keeps getting better, however if you can not move your furniture and area rugs periodically, there will be visible light areas underneath them. THIS IS A PHOTOSENSITIVE WOOD!
Our floor has a several fine scratches after a year, they are more noticeable due to the dark color wood.
The floor is easy to clean, but shows everything. If you are a clean freak, but hate or don't have time to clean, this floor is not for you. It will require a quick cleaning every couple of days to look its best. The floor is most likely needs less upkeep in pet free homes.
All and all I love my floor and we are considering putting it in the living room too. The only thing making me hesitate is the constant cleaning.

I have done two bedrooms with the Brazilian Cherry and love both of them. Keys to a good install are good planning, complete prep, and using good tools. The Cherry is very hard and you need to use carbide tools. You also need to use a power nailer and be prepared to pre-drill for all of the boards along the wall where you cannot get the power nailer to reach. I enclosed a picture of the picture framing technique I used in the second bedroom to give the floor a more traditional appearance. It takes more planning and you have to be prepared to use the router to modify the end cuts of the boards in the corners. I think it was well worth the extra work. By the way the feature strip is made of Bellawood Canadian Maple in the 2 1/4 size as opposed to the 3 1/4 size of the Brazilian Cherry.

The quality was excelent. I bought about 300 sqr feet, and only 1 board 18 inch I could not use because of the finnish was funkey.
I have two complaints. First, when I called to find out if the flooring in stock, I was told yes. When I went to pick it up, it was from two mills, so the finish could be different. I needed to drive a few hours, to another store, to get all the material I needed so it would be from one mill. Also, I needed about 20 feet of spline. I called and was told it was in stock, but the next day when I went to pick it up, it was not in stock. I was told it was coming the next day, but it did not. This is the same story I got for a few days. I ended up buying the spline at another flooring store. Obviously both of these problems were very frustrating. If I put in another hardwood floor, I will purchase it a month ahead of time to avoid these problems.

I installed DuPont laminate in my back bedrooms and it was hard to install around doorways etc. I rented a floor nailer, which was a necessity, but the job was straight forward and the product is as high quality as described. A few bad boards, but the waste was far below what I expected. I can't speak to the wear yet, but it was less work than laminate and only $1.00 more per square foot for 3/4 inch hardwood that is really pretty to look at.

My husband and I installed 3/4 inch Brazilian Cherry by Bellawood in our kitchen. We are thrilled with our purchase especially with it's durability. We have a 70lb dog who runs through the kitchen several times a day and not a scratch.
Also we have old hardwood floors throughout the rest of the house and we are seriously considering replacing them soon. When we do it will be with the brazilian cherry by Bellawood from lumber liquidators.love it!!!

We had this flooring installed in our family room, I have it for about 2 months and I simply love it. We got the select Brazilian Cherry. We hardly had any waste. I am getting lots of compliments from my friends. The only thing is that it scratches and dents very easily if you drop something. I would highly recommend this product to others.

We just finished putting this down in our dining room and hallway. It was quite frustrating at first because of the smaller flooring.All nailers were for 3/4". Since we could not find the right nailer to use that wouldn't split the tongue, and even the tops of the planks. However, we did use the websites helpful tips on installing, and it helped. We finally got it down, and it does look great. We are still adding the finishing touches.

Installed in a bedroom closet. Made the closet look large and roomy. Chose to install wood rather than mismatched carpet that would later have to be replaced again. I like it so well that we will install the wood in the bedroom when it is time to replace the carpet! Beautiful product very pleased.
Ordered on the internet and the main office killed my order without my knowledge; I earn commission on my order and them killing the order killed my commission. Had to redo the entire order and added an extra week for product pickup. Corporate should not do that to clients without first contacting the store or the client prior to doing so. The store manager worked with me and adjusted the pricing to reflect my original sales price.

My wife researched the internet far and wide before we decided on purchasing Bellawood. We ordered several samples from different manufacturers and conducted our own in-home scratch test of the finish. Bellawood was the clear stand out, so that combined with a good price led us to purchase the product. We've never laid our own hardwood floor, although we are fairly proficient DYI'ers. We laid this product in the diniing room and it came out fabulously! We absolutely love the new look, and the floor went down flawlessly. Lots of long pieces to choose from, very few throw aways, and I was impressed with how straight and square each piece was. I expected to have to deal with straightening most of the flooring pieces, and in fact I only had to deal with one out of an entire room. Great product, great look!

some of the wood, a small percentage, was not inspected properly by the manufacture. the wood was uneven so the floor not flush. these boards were outer pieces of the log by the bark. other than that the wood is beautiful and looks great ake sure you figure in the 5% extra to avoid using these bds.

I installed the Brazilian Cherry in a Family Room, 11'x17'. No real problems except the wood is very hard, difficult to cut (even with new blades)without generating some smoke. I made all cuts on an adjacent outdoor patio. The quality of the wood and the finish are excellent Only a few pieces had milling imperfections.

We remodeled a home with existing Bellawood flooring. Flooring was originally installed in the late 80's or so. Removal of existing built-in's created a void in flooring. Removal of existing flooring without damage was next to impossible, original installer was staple and although not needed, glue crazy. We were able to save much of the existing materials. Upon removal and preparation the new floor went like a breeze, even lacing new materials with reused existing materials was a smooth task. Keeping in mind that cherry wood darkens and becomes more rich looking with age and difference with toleranes from the various mills (a few tricks up our sleeves resolved tolerance issues), match of new flooring to existing was very acceptable.

I heard a lot of buzz about prefinished floors, beveled edges and that these types of products were in some way inferior to the more traditional, or old-fashioned unfinished floors where sanding and finishing is required after the install. Prefinished flooring is the way to go.
I do worry about the source for LL's raw materials and whether or not they're considered 'sustainable'.

I wouldnt try this with a manual nailer. The boxes contained enough random lengths which kept the joints spaced far enough apart for a pleasing look. With one person laying out the pattern and two installing boards, we finished a 14x16 room in one long day. The finish has less variation in color than some other Brazilian Cherry we had installed previously. Still plenty of tones and contrasts to make the floor stand out. In 11 boxes, we had only one flawed board and one that had a grain pattern that we chose not to use. Excellent compared to the previous install from a floor store.

I installed about 1000 sq feet of this product. The preparation is the hardest part. I removed all baseboards, carpeting (including a million staples, added more screws in the subfloor, painted the rooms, flush-cut the door frames and pre-built each step in my stairs. This took a lot of time, but the installation went very smoothly. The only fault I found with the material was in a couple of boxes, where some of the grooves were not cut straight or deep enough to accept the tongue.
I'm retired and thought the job would take me several months working part-time on it. It actually went much faster and I finished in about 6 weeks. It looks beautiful so far. I'm told the wood will darken naturally in the sun, but my house doesn't have a lot of bright sunlight.
The only other comment I have is make sure you pre-drill any boards which have to be hand nailed. Brazilian Cherry is amazingly hard and resists nailing. There was very little waste. I also used a couple of boxes of the narrow size boards. It reduced the amount of ripping. Be sure to have an extra blade or two for your chop saw.

I have never installed a wood floor before in my life. When we built our home 15 years ago we had always wanted a wood floor in the dining room. Using a little sweat equitity we were able to install the wood floor in the living and dining room for about the same price of new good quality carpet installed by a contractor. We couldn't be happier with the end result. Attached are a couple photos, one before and one after. It is a dramatic change.

The brazillian cherry floor is much more than I ever hoped for! I would seriously consider installing it throughout my entire house. My only recommendation is to use the most powerful air compressor available, because the wood is so hard it can be difficult for the nails to penetrate it. Once you get the right air compressor, the floor installs easily.

I love the way the brazilian cherry looks in my kitchen and dining room. It has darkened a lot since we installed it about 1 1/2 years ago. I don't have many complaints. There is a scratch were a chair was in the dining room when my son pulled it back and we had pads on the bottom. Also with 2 dogs you can see the hair rather easily against the wood color. It takes a lot of time to keep them looking clean.

I installed 1000 sq ft of the discounted / odd lot Bellawood Brazilian Cherry, and i found the milling to be less predictable than the top grade Bellawood product (see previous review: "Lake Tahoe, NV") - I realized the difference after I put in 700sq ft more of the top grade (higher price!) brazilian cherry - the top grade came together much tighter. - Regardless, I really do recommend this product with this caveate noted.
If you have active (read: crazy) dogs like I do (australian shepherds) they will scratch the floor(more like faint linear indents - the finish does not acutually come off) - it's not very noticiable, in fact you cant see it unless you have just the right angle.
Anyway, check out the pics. I really do love this floor.

Our floor is very good looking. We have just installed, so am anxious to see how well it wears. With the warranty, the expectation would be extremely durable.
We were disappointed in lack of instruction concerning installation. We found very little help or suggestions. The price on the flooring was reasonable considering the warranty, however the trim pieces are very expensive! Our trim consisting of two pieces was at least 25% of our overall cost of the project. Be sure and consider the trim price when purchasing your flooring.

We had some water damage over the winter when we were not home. The wood did warp. Luckily it was in the back of the kitchen so it is not noticeable. We do keep our home heated in the winter to prevent the wood from buckleing.So far, so good other than the water problem.

Although the wood pieces do not always look good coming out of the box(i.e. inconsistant colors, busy wood grains and fairly standard lengths) if you are careful to match the patterns of the wood properly before installing, the final product will be a very nice floor. Keep in mind that the nails bend easily because the wood is very strong, and they won't come out easily if you need to remove a bent nail. Usually it needs to be cut off with a grinding stone. And finally, be prepared for the 30% that isn't the most pleasant looking wood pieces. Plan ahead to where to place them (under a couch for example)

I just finished the entire downstairs with bellawood brazilian cherry along with tile in the kitchen. It makes a world of difference compared to the carpet. Plus, I did it myself and if anybody has ever pulled up their old carpet you realize real quick how much cleaner your house will be without carpet. It is pretty nasty between the carpet and pad. And we keep a pretty clean house.

Putting it down in hallway, high traffic area, dining room and living room. Not done installing yet and already want to buy more and install in bedrooms. So beautiful, very little waste, have opened about 12 boxes so far and may have had 3 boards that were not good and needed bad pieces cut off. Amazing, good value for the money. Don't expect it to go down fast. Cutting takes time, selecting boards takes time, and we are using A LOT of nails (staples) to install to help prevent shifting.

this is really beautiful flooring. i put in 1000sq feet of it, and it was worth it. however, don't let anyone tell you doing flooring is "easy" - it's a work out! - but if you're handy and not afraid of a table saw and some hard work, then do it!
this flooring really came out beautifully, just 2 things to consider:
1. GAPS. pre-finished floors will, invariably, have some areas that have some small gaps between boards. this is no big deal, but it's a different look than a floor that is finished after it's installed. the upside to the pre-finish is, of course, a super hard finish that's done in a factory, not in your house. i put this in 3 years ago and i'll be putting in 600 sq ft more of the same in the house this summer.
2. SUN EFFECT. the wood that comes out of the box will look VERY different (and actually more attractive) in a year after the sun has had it's effect. first, it will turn darker where the sun hits it (move that furniture around and lay off the throw rugs for a year or two). then, in high sun exposed areas it will turn lighter!! (may not be as dramatic where you live - i'm at 6600ft altitude - the sun can be pretty intense here). this can make for a bit of crazy making with the sun lines. it would be less of an issue if they made this known up front (i had no idea).
anyway, great stuff, and very good value.
