Comments about Builder's Pride 3/4" x 2 1/4" Select Red Oak Flooring:

I liked this floor so much, I put it in my personal home. This may be called builder's grade/pride, but it is a topnotch product.

Tips: I used #15 weight roofing felt for underlayment/moister barrier. This worked fine. To prevent scratches, I put heavy duty felt pads on ALL furniture feet. I can slide heavy cherry buffets across this now and no scratches.
I do recommend rugs under kitchen or dining chairs or under rockers. Easy to dust mop or damp mop. Holds it own under snowy/rainy day entryway abuse, and I love the bright shine and color of the natural red oak.*See photo.

It took me ten days to lay 2300 sq ft by myself, as the 2-1/4" wide boards took a few days longer, but it was well worth the time. I saved over twelve thousand dollars doing this myself. I paid less than expensive carpet for a solid oak floor! And when everyone else is tossing out dated or worn out carpet, I'll be on the golf course, relaxin'! Anyone can lay these floors with time and a little effort.

Comments about Builder's Pride 3/4" x 2 1/4" Select Red Oak Flooring:

A professional flooring crew installed the Red Oak in my home. The wood itself is beautiful, more than I expected. I also must commend the store where I purchased the wood; at the flooring crew supervisor's suggestion, the manager called another store in Louisville to ensure my entire order could be filled in one day.

Comments about Builder's Pride 3/4" x 2 1/4" Select Red Oak Flooring:

While we order the red oak Dura Wood Select Wood Floor to prevent drastic deviation in wood color, we did find pieces that were either blond (almost white) or dark brown in color. The majority of the wood was fairly uniform in color so it did not represent a big problem.

Product was easy to install and looks very nice. The only problem is that it is not milled evenly so has some rough and sharp edges. Doesn't hurt in my office but wouldn't want it in a living or family room

Comments about Builder's Pride 3/4" x 2 1/4" Select Red Oak Flooring:

We remodeled our entire 1960's kitchen and wanted to keep the same flooring as the Dining Room & Living Room. We used the Red Oak Strip flooring by Builders Pride. We had our carpenter put it down. He said it is excellent quality flooring and was easy to install. I was so thrilled with the new floor that we had the old floors refinished to match the new one. It's not an identical match but they are gorgeous. I like the micro groove between the strips. It's very small as not to trap dirt. I'm extremely pleased with the Buiders Pride and would highly recommend it.

This flooring is very beautiful when laid. Be aware that not every board is straight and of uniform width from one end to the other ( select grade). Double check the board before nailing it in place.

Comments about Builder's Pride 3/4" x 2 1/4" Select Red Oak Flooring:

Easy to install and very little waste. I installed 700 sq feet in the whole 2nd floor of my house. Product looks very nice. This wood is softer and scratches more easily than the Bellawood. If you have pets the Bellawood is worth the extra $$$.

Service & Delivery comments:

Delivery was perfect! Product came in perfect condition and the customer service was excellent!

Comments about Builder's Pride 3/4" x 2 1/4" Select Red Oak Flooring:

If your expecting absolute perfection I would not buy it, but if not it looks good for the price. The only thing so far that I don't like is the milling of the thickness was not the best. It was off from one piece to another in many places.

Comments about Builder's Pride 3/4" x 2 1/4" Select Red Oak Flooring:

Bought this product for a dining room flooring project since it was a bit cheaper than Lumber Liquidator's Bellawood brand. As I began to install it, I found out why. The millig process on the tounge and groove was not very good, so much so that I had to tap in just about every piece in a 12' x12' room. That made for extra work and extra time. The finshed product looks great and I get a lot of glory and praise now that it's done, but it was harder than it should have been. I did another smaller job with the same red oak natural finish Bellawood product, and it went together like a dream. Bottom line, spend the extra money and get the Bellawood. By the way, the staff and service at Lumber Liquidators (Oaks, PA) was great; they answered all my very detailed questions and were a joy to deal with.
