Product is very easy to install, cut, etc. Excellent quality and finish overall.

Biggest complaint is that floor scratches very easily and is very noticeable. Regardless of the felt pads for furniture supplied with Bellawood cleaning kit, floors scratched easily & deep. Not sure how to fix.

We installed this ourselves in our rec room and the floor went down beautifully. LL was great in providing advice and helping figure how many boxes we needed. They actually recommended a box less than I thought I needed and they were right. The boards are straight and there is very little waste; basically just the short end cutoffs. Brazilian cherry darkens as it is exposed to light. We installed it 3 months ago and it has darkened nicely. The color of the boards actually blends better now than when originally installed.

We have purchased 4000 sq ft of wood and have had about 5 bad boxes, the boxes have some kind of sand or thin fine metal shavings that are scratching the wood.

I just put this floor down 4 days ago, it is absolutely beautiful. I love the variations in the wood color. Very few unusable boards, although factory end cuts weren't always square. I prefer the shorter length boards, gives the floor more character and the longer boards were more difficult to get tight. I can't wait for it to darken as I have read. Virtually impossible to hand nail without pre-drilling. Rented a air nailer, worth every penny. Love the dining room so much, thinking of extending it into the kitchen.

Had installed this flooring in the family room in Oct. 2008. Love the finished look and it lived up to it's word of darking with sunlight. Just finished the formal dining area. I am just as please with the results today as I was in Oct. 08. Just take your time lay out all of the flooring add the short pieces in with the long, just like putting together a jigsaw puzzle. Matter of fact I like using the short pieces in one run by it's self. Giving the floor some character. Next in line would be the Master Bedroom.

I am really pleased with the quality of this floor. It looks great and I was very impressed with the finish and the durability of it. I did find that the longest boards were the most trouble to get into place (not a real surprise due to the length and warp). I also noticed that many boards were not cut to the exact width leading to small gaps and seams. But, the result is very nice and worth the small imperfections. This wood is incredibly hard/dense. You have to use a pneumatic floor stapler for this wood, I couldn't imagine tacking in down any other way. Once it's in place, it darkens quickly and takes on a great color. I'm really particular about my house, its appearance, and quality of materials in it. I don't settle for cheap things, I save up for what I think is the best, I research it, and then buy it. This product has met my expectation and I am pleased.

Never installed a floor before. But the quotes I was getting, I figured I could save $1000-$1500 AND buy myself a nice saw. Hardest part of installation was learning how to quickly identify minor variations in widths. 1/32 of an inch is a very obvious gap, and some variations went beyond that. But I learned to keep a close eye so after the first 4-5 rows I had that one down pat. Out of 320 square feet of boards, very few were unusable. I thought the range of colors made for a nice look. At first i was thinking that there weren't enough long boards, but those are tougher to get straight and fitting snug, so I think the ratio is just fine. With so little waste I was able to avoid using too many short pieces.

My recommendations for homeowner installation are;
• Get a new blade for the saw. This is hard stuff, and by the end I could feel it getting a bit dull.
• Make sure you have ALL the recommended tools. Don't try to save a few bucks by using the wrong tools.
• Keep an eye on wide changes as you go down the row. If it isn't good, don't nail it in. You can use the piece on a later section.

Folks at the Braintree, MA store were very helpful. Too early to give a POV on durability, but the way it looks now, I'd encourage others to use the product. Particularly this, or other dark woods, will hide minor imperfections much better than the lighter varieties.
• Don't be intimidated by the process, and take your time.

We hired a professional to install the product and we have not had it long enough to comment on its durability. However, the product looks and feels great and already has begun to change color as advertised. We love the look and feel so much we plan to add more of the wood to other parts of our house. The finished look is great. My only negative comment is one box of lumber had corners that were not square. I did not recognize the problem quickly because the first 400 sf went in with no problem. The last 200 sf were a lot of trouble because the contents of this one box were distributed to several stacks of wood of different lengths.

Just completed a 450 sq ft install in a hallway and family room. It was my first solid wood floor install but I have done several laminate / engineered floors. Took longer than expected to install due to seems not lining up real well. Had to mix and match planks to find the best fit to reduce the gaps. Wood splits easily and edge seams buckle/split upon nailing. Overall, the wood floor looks fantastic and worth the effort. It truly makes all the other floors look inferior. It's not perfect but for the price I still feel it is a great value. I would purchase this flooring again and I recommend this to anyone who wants a solid wood floor - just expect some challenges on the install unlike laminate or engineered flooring.

We had the floor installed in a new family room added to the house. The contractor who installed the floor said it was the easiest floor he ever worked with. Only had to tap in three pieces and not one was warped. Friends have commented on the interesting patterns and color. And I was concerned about the dog scratching the finish, he is still a puppy and runs everywhere. Well the new room has turned into his favorite room and not one scratch can be found. I am very pleased with the product. If I had any complaints it would be that there were too many short pieces, but that does ulilize more of the wood from a tree. I used the product in all my rooms on the main floor and my second floor landing. I did not use it in the kitchen as it is a remodel and I have perfectly good porcelan tile there

Choosing this product was taking a chance. We wanted to get rid of the rug with all the other chores that goes with it. (flooring was put in living room), laid down the wood flooring, added several beautiful rugs put down at certain locations, looks beautiful. Takes about 3 minutes to clean floor, looks great. He was very easy going - had respect for the product - lived up to his quotes and promises. First we screwed down 3/4 playwood with Tapcon Screws. It was very hard drilling into the 30 year old slab. We used many drill bits. It provided a very stable base lined with plastic on th ebottom and felt paper on the top. Putting down the Jatoba (Brazilian Cherry) was the easy part. They used a nail gun to fasten it to the plywood base. After that the baseboards and toe mold when very fast. They were also excellent at cutting off all my doors to fit perfectly. The Bellawood product was good - but the installer made the job perfect. I did not like the no return policy of our local LL store. We gave them a lot of money. They did allow us to return a few expensive trim strips for a full refund. My floors are beautiful - to me - the best part of our house beside its location - 2 miles from the job. I could have done this job myself - but I am 60 - and would have been very sore. A crew of 4 guys did the subfloor - floor - baseboard - doors - in 5 days. The worst part was the dust from taking up the tile floors with a jackhammer and also from the drilling into concrete. But it cleans up easily.

Looking at re-doing floors on basement level next. Expect to be back for engineered flooring to get those done. Store personnel in Springfield, MO were very helpful and courteous! Your flooring practically sells itself with your pricing, selection and people.

This floor has only been installed for a week, so it is too soon to comment on durability; however, the character, colors and grains in the wood are much much better looking than the store samples. The floor was installed in a family room and kitchen area with high traffic and a large dog + kids, and so far it has resisted scratches. The color is very warm, and the variety in the grains and shades is excellent. The floor was professionally installed, and the carpenter pointed out that there was nearly zero waste. Of the 600 sq ft of material, only 2 boards had a minor flaw (one at the end that could be cut off), so the only real waste was the result of cutting. Boards were very straight with no knots or flaws. Installer did say it was harder to work with this wood, as it is so very hard/dense. Even with the compressor set very high it was almost impossible to countersink surface nails along the edges (had to be hand struck to countersink). However, the regular nails/staples for the bulk of the job worked well with hardly any splitting. And, with the 5" width, much less nailing is required. Overall, this product is excellent in every way and really improves both rooms. An outstanding value on a select exotic wood that you will not see in many places. I would highly recommend Bellawood.

I've never installed flooring before, so I was nervous doing 1,000sq/ft. This flooring has turned out so well that I'm confident to start doing even more around the house. The planks were almost all very straight and the finishes were almost all usable. I know that the waste rate on most flooring from Depot's and the like are normally over 10% but I was able to use well over 95% of all my wood! There were some occasional differences in plank width between light and dark planks which others on here have noted as well. Fortunately, it was pretty easy to grab a similar length and use it instead. There was nothing we couldn't fix with a nail gun and a little lean on a prybar. I highly recommend the use of these 5" planks because the installation went by so much more quickly than if we had used something that was only 3" wide.

My fiance and I had a dinner party a few days after the install and the compliments from people who had never even been to our house before made all the effort worthwhile. I'm also pretty sure that I'm going to get much more than my investment back whenever we sell the house.

Was going to go with an unfinished floor but due to time constraints and the sample piece at LL (no noticable bevel at edges and no noticable gapping between pieces), thought the prefinished would look just as great. The 50 year warantee by Bellawood sold me on trying the product. I had these floors installed, I wish I could have inspected each piece myself because there are some pieces I would not have installed. Overall it seems that out of the 750 sq ft, at least 20% have some damage on them from a small bump to a couple of inches of sealer scaping off in places. The wide planks are exactly what I was looking for, people say it looks nice but I see/know the problem spots thus I won't do prefinished again.

I have done a lot of do-it-yourself projects, but never have I atempted to do a hardwood floor. I did a lot of research on the proper tools and methods, and finally got my 3/4 plywood subfloor laid over concrete. Then, the beautiful 3/4 Brazilian Cherry floor went down like textbook with the help of a pneumatic power nailer. This is one of the best tools that I have ever used. I would not attempt to do a floor without a pneumatic nailer. The floor is down and looks super!

The floor looks great. Not too difficult to install, but some pieces were so hard the nail gun had a hard time penetrating fully, but I think that's the nature of the beast. Minimal pieces with scratches or poor finish, so overall I'm very pleased.

After looking and pricing wood flooring from the local stores I got on-line and found there was a Lumber Liquidator store in Fort Wayne.

I wanted 4”-5” wide flooring and the guys were very helpful, and the flooring was easy to put down in the living and dinning room looking out over the lake.

Our friends want to take their shoes off to walk on it, because it looks that good.

Easy installation using pneumatic flooring stapler. I used a Bostich stapler with 2" flooring staples. 5" wide product decreases installation time including fewer rows requiring finish nails. Installed throughout my house with nothing but compliments from all visitors. The wood is gorgeous with beautiful grain structure and brilliant finish. Bottom line is my wife is very happy.

Very impressed with the product itself.
We liked the flooring so much in our dining/living room that we plan to install the same type in out three bedrooms too.

The wood is very hard and I had some nailing issues. Sometimes I had to use a hammer and a nail set to drive the nails properly in.

The nails didn't always go all the way in, and I had had to wiggle the nailer off.

I have installed close to 1000 sq ft of this in my house so far and I absolutely love it. The last 600+ sq ft. order from about 3 years ago seemed to be nicer stuff. Less warped pieces and a better overall fit?. I am not sure if the last batch I got (within the last few weeks) was just out of tolerance or what? [...]With all that said...do not be discouraged about buying this product. It is absolutely fabulous, rich and gorgeous. I have yet to see more beautiful wood flooring......I can not say enough about it. Everyone who sees it is blown away by how it looks and feels. After several years of having it in a high traffic area (our living room...and we have a dog), it still looks like brand new!! The finish is outstanding.

Installed by professional. Great looking floor however the amount of waste was not insignificant. Expect waste to meet the amount stated in contract, not withstanding the "select" grade. Floor does require frequent cleaning as appearance is either phenomenal or lackluster, no in between.

I installed about 600 sq. feet of this in our living room and it has held up perfectly for the past two years. There is no doubt it will look fantastic 40 years from now.

It DOES get darker with age (sunlight) so do not get too shocked when you pull up a rug and the wood looks lighter! With sun exposure, any light areas will darken and blend into the rest of the floor.

This is an absolutely beautiful product and I will be installing more of it in other areas of our home.

I'm an interior desginer, and I have used this in my own home - in my home office. It's really gorgeous. I'm about to order more for my mud room!

It's REALLY GORGEOUS. It maintains a high sheen even months after I've installed it and it's a really great color that will change over time - get darker.

This floor looks better then my wildest dreams, the installation crew commented on the hardness of the flooring, and that this was by far the nicest floor that they have installed. I did something a little different, I staggered the floor size, doing one row in 5", and the next row with 3 1/4", you would not beleive the look that this gives the room, two thumbs up!
