We bought enough of this to do the entire first floor of our home, and hired a professional installer to move the job along. He recommended a 6% cut and waste allowance, and returned most of that. The quality is amazing. The floor is beautiful and elegant. It looks great in the formal dining room as well as the casual office. I would recommend it to anyone.

I have installed other hardwood brands with alot of bad boards and Bellawood had almost no waste. I can not remember any boards out of 550 square ft that were unuseable. I would recommend this product to anyone. The Brazilian teak colors are awesome.

This was a heck of a project to do myself. I installed over 1,000 sq. ft. of this in my home. It was a difficult install because the wood is so hard, plus I am not a professional installer! I purchased a cleat nailer and after playing around with the air pressure (and sacrificing several pieces) I was able to use the nailer for the entire install. They recommend hand drill/nailing each piece because of the density of the wood and the tendenct of tongue fracture using the nailer, but had I chose the recommended route, I would still be installing it years from now!

In the end it was well worth it!!

For you dog lovers, we also have a Husky who really enjoys running/playing. He doesn't get much traction on the floors (though he tries), but he hasn't really scratched the floor after several months of running around on it!

Great product!

We hadn't planned to put new flooring down but our dishwasher leaked & messed up the wood flooring we did have down. WOW!! God does work in mysterious ways. What started out as a terrible mishap turned out to be absolutely beautiful. We originally had hardwood in the kitchen, dining room, foyer & powder room. When we had to replace all of that, we decided to do the family room & master bedroom too. I would buy this flooring again in a second!! We would post pics but the floor looks so great we are in the process of upgrading our baseboards, blinds & some odd & ends. I would reccomend this floor over & over to anyone. I don't know how it stands up to indoor pets but our family of 4 is very active & the floor doesn't show any "stress" marks so far. One of the many things that we love about the floor is that every piece of wood looks different. One piece may be light & the next dark. Some of the pieces even have light & dark on just one piece. I guess that could be a "con" if you like things to be very uniform. We love that it adds character & drama to our entire down stairs. Our family room looks so cozy & comfy now. We LOVE IT!!!

The Brazalian Teak looks great. We love the overall look and variation of color and grain. The wood is extremely durable and has already withstood playtime with our 130lb Swiss Mountain Dog without any scratches!

Lumber Liquidators suggested Robert Dorantes to install our floors. He and his team are professional, quick, pay attention to detail and competitively priced!. My sister just had him install wood too.

I love the resulting floor installed it is beautiful. However, I was sadly disappointed in the number of poorly coated, damaged and nicked boards. It shows some lax quality controll, some whole 7' boards were cracked, split and unusable. I am not happy about the costly waste. Overall though I would install this again.

I wanted a product that would withstand 2 large active dogs and got it in this teak! The installer agrees - if one has dogs and wants hard wood floors this is the product to use. My friends compliment the selection repeatedly. I consider it well worth the money!

We ripped the carpet out and installed Bellawood Brazilian Teak in the entire house , including the kitchen. Now everything looks beautiful. Flooring went down relatively easy. Quality of wood was excellent. Only a few pieces were not used because of flaws.

I love my floors!!!

My wife and I decided to do our whole downstairs over with hardwoods and decided to get the Brazilian Teak. Best home improvement we have ever done to our home. This wood is like steel in regards to its durability and about as attractive as wood can get. When people come over to our house for the first time the first thing they say is "I love your floors, what kind of wood is that". It is unique but has a timeless classic look. We also put the wood in our kitchen too. This is something we debated on for weeks before making the decision and we are so glad we did. A throw rug in front of the sink and the whole house looks wonderful. I have had the floors for 18 months now with no issues. I plan on doing the upstairs in the fall. Regarding installation, if you have half a brain and have ever used Legos you can install these floors. It is that easy. Installation of the stairs is another matter as it is a little more challenging, but the after effects are wonderful.

Surprises you don't expect
By garyVerified Reviewer from mn on 3/31/2008
Pros:
Attractive Finish
Cons:
Difficult To Install, extreem color variations
Best Uses:
Family Room

We had a professional installer - we had to be with him during the install because of the wide range of color - and placement of variations - we had to have sections removed and replaced because of the "landscape" preferences we had compared to his. We had registers ordered and installed before we realized they had no finish on them - what do we do now and how do you finish an installed wooden registar?? - we love the wood.

I you have a ruler, know how to safely use and have access to a power chop saw (mitre saw) and can swing a hammer, you can install this product yourself.

I ordered 12 boxes and had almost a full box left over. There is very little waste in a standard installation.

We laid the Brazilian Teak by Bellawood in the office first to see how we like it. It is beautiful! Teak is a very hard wood so installation takes time as we pre-drilled all holes and hammered in each plank, no nail gun. [...] We are now going to lay it in the two bedrooms and living room! Love it!

I love our Brazilian Teak Flooring it is absolutely beautiful with all the color variations.
We have a 140 pound dog also, five teenage girls we have had no problem at all with scratches or anything with this floor. I do have to saying installing this floor was a little difficult because the wood is so hard however, once it was down it was well worth the extra time it took to install this floor. I would recommend buying the floor to everyone!

Thanks,
Don & Carla Reed
