Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/8" x 3" Brazilian Walnut:
We chose the Brazilian Walnut 3" x 3/8" thick. It is absolutely beautiful! We think it is darker and more rich than the picture LL uses. When we bought this wood, the person helping us kept warning us it's HARD wood. Is he right. My husband bought the Powernail 50P Flex pnematic nail gun. This gun allows you to install 3/8" to 3/4" wood thickness. He also used Powernail power cleats 1 1/4" 18 guage. Haven't had one jam, works well with 3/8" wood and rarely splits the tongue. My husband has NO EXPERIENCE installing hardwood. The hardest part is lining up the first 3 rows and manually nailing the wood. Once you have the first 3 rows worked in, it goes very quickly. My husband and I had a deal. We'd start in the dining room and if we didn't divorce, we continue and do the greatroom, kitchen, and laundry room. Thank goodness, he's started the greatroom.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/8" x 3" Brazilian Walnut:
We absolutely LOVE our floors. It is often difficult to tell from a small sample in a showroom how it will look; but these came out better than we expected. The color variations in the wood make it look very rich and allow it to match with several kinds/colors of wood. We had a professional installer and he said it was very easy to install.
Delivery and initial service was good. We had to wait 3 weeks for a refund check and had to call 3 separate times for a status. I was told each time I called that a manager would call me back; he never did. Found that disappointing.

The floor is magnificent. My installer loved the floor, very classy. Have had trouble getting the right trim (reducer)shipped to us. We get shipped blonde oak instead of brazilian walnut.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/8" x 3" Brazilian Walnut:
Spectacular variations in the color of this product just brings in all of the wooden furniture and home decor blending very well. If you can not decide on a particular color, this is your best choice. Installed myself with very little problems, glued to concrete.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/8" x 3" Brazilian Walnut:
This is truly a beautiful floor. The color variations are one-of-a-kind. While laying out the planks, opening each box was like Christmas morning as we excitedly saw the different colors and shades. All vistors have commented on how beautiful the floor is.Installation was fairly easy, but the 3/8” inch thickness complicates the process as rental air nailers are not readily available for 3/8” ironwoods. I had to buy my own for ~ [$]. Unless you have a compelling reason for 3/8” or your own nailer capable of this thickness/denisty, I would recommend the 3/4” planks. I self-installed about 600 sqft for an office in about 3 weekends. Here are some installation tips:1. Subfloor is critical. Install a top layer of plywood sheathing (CDX or better) if you are unsure about existing thickness or have OSB like me. Install with screws only perpendicular to floor joists if possible. Overlap exisiting sheets about halfway in width and lengthwise end the butt-joints about 1-2 feet off exisitng edge or floor joist. Screw only to the existing subfloor, not to the joists.2. I could not find detailed information on which nails to use for top nailing and hand nailing. I purchased both THS Screw Shank flooring nails and standard 6d finish nails. The screw shank flooring nail heads are way too big for top nailing unless you drill a larger countersink hole. Use the finish nails instead. Blind nailing with 6D finish nails was almost as fast as air nailing with 2 people – one drilling pilot holes and one nailing.3. This wood splits very easily. Ensure your pilot holes are very close to the nail diameter to avoid splits. The wood is also very, very dense.4. Cutting boards was a breeze with a compound miter and finish blade. Finish ends were almost factory perfect after cutting. Ripping the final board width on the table saw was a bit harder on the finish but still performed very well.5. Be very careful with tools. Dropping heavy tools like hammers, nailers and pry bars will mar and dent the finish very quickly. Note, the factory finish has held up very well, even to my Great Danes toe nails. Much better than the exisitig 3/4" Oak.6. Floor cleans very easily with the right cleaner. Most I tried left a very thick and soapy residue. Try the Minwax liquid floor cleaner and a microfiber mop – it worked perfectly - no dull residue or sticky film. I mop a few times a week just for the added shine and brilliance!Go slow and plan ahead and you will have one amazing floor. Several of my boxes had many more shorter planks than others. Ensure you layout your planks ahead of time and blend from at least 3 boxes.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/8" x 3" Brazilian Walnut:
I have had my flooring sitting in my garage for about six weeks, waiting for my project to progress and finally have begun the installation. It is a beautiful floor! I love it very much! Very warm tones and a beautiful finish! Not terribly shiny, just a lovely, soft semi gloss shine. I imagine, because of the darker tones, it will show dust a little more than a lighter floor. That will keep me honest, won't it?! Beautiful! Very rich looking! [...]

This floor is unbelievably gorgeous. Easy to install, and very warm and rich in color. The variations of the wood make it very striking. Much better in person than the pictures on the website do justice too!

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/8" x 3" Brazilian Walnut:
i put this floor down last year and i bought the odd lot floor and the majority of the floor looks like select grade. i did notice some variance in the thickness and width of some of the boards. i bought the 3/8 thick floor and i used a stapler and several of the staples didnt want to go in due to the wood being very hard, also there were alot of boards that couldnt be used due to being damaged but i knew this when i bought odd lot. it is a dark floor and it does show dust but other than that it is probably one of the best investment/improvements i have done to my almost 40 year old house. all in all great floor.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/8" x 3" Brazilian Walnut:
Lumber Liquidators recommended a particular flooring nailer to install this 3/8 inch flooring. Unfortunately, the local rental center did not carry it. We installed this flooring in our dining room via pre-drilling and hand-nailing. It was worth the extra effort because it is truly a beautiful floor with lots of color variation and it is VERY hard. There was hardly any waste. We are installing this throughout the entire first story of our 100 year old home.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/8" x 3" Brazilian Walnut:
I was a little skeptical at first, because of the different grains/colors in the wood. However, that is what makes the floor so beautiful. I receive compliments on the floor all the time. I have used it in two bedrooms/office and I'm getting ready to put it in the third bedroom.

The professional installer was correct in saying that this floor stands out from all of the rest. It is highly recommended for those who want something more than the typical cherry, red floor. It is truly the most beautiful wood floor I've every seen!

What a deal, poured down the yellow rubber stuff, it self leveled, next day poured the glue and cut and fit the wood. I had a pro do the stairs but it was sooo easy and it looks great. When we were moving in one of the movers droped a dolly on the wood and to my suprise not even a scratch.
