We installed this in our new kitchen. Definitely a 2 person job by people who know what they're doing. We drilled holes and then nailed it down -- manually, one at a time. Time consuming but worth it because it is such a strong and durable wood. Haven't had this in longer than a week so I cannot speak to the durability of the finish. We installed about 450SF in our Living room and Dining room and it is beautiful. It is VERY hard and chews up staples. Broke several drill bits when top nailing near walls where we could not staple. A huge plus over the carpet we originally had. We paralled a piece next to our oak floors edge board instead of using T mold for a smooth transition. Take your time to select each pieces position on the floor (by color and size). The wife helped by selecting the next boards to use and stayed about 4-5 rows ahead of the installed floor. Well worth the time to install, lots of complements. Installing it in the Master bedroom next.

[...]We had this floor installed by a professional last December. The job estimated at 2 days actuflly took 4 1/2 but boy was it worth it. Stunning is the only word that describes this floor. It complements every color and type of furnishing as well. Our installer did have a tough time nailing. They also recommended the used of T-mould between ajoining carpeted and tiled floors. Our only "wish-we-had-done-differently"...It's been two months and we're not thrilled with the look or feel of the T-mould so we're taking them out and replacing with full wood strips.Of note, our floors were installed at the tail end of a full remodel and there were still quite a few contractors in and out. This floor finish held up to dirty feet, dust and furniture moving. Not a scratch!If you want a floor with durability and wow-factor, this is the choice to make.

The Brazilian walnut is VERY hard and VERY oily so it was nearly impossible for my husband to cut the planks with his compound miter chopsaw. Consequently we had a professional do the install.Overall the flooring is without equal in dramatic presentation. The box contained shades from dark walnut to nearly a sage green. this wood is absolutely beautiful. We installed ourselves, almost 700 sq feet, and I am thrilled with the result. Easy to install from a technical standpoint, just a lot of hard work. With a good nail gun and a good table saw and mitre saw, anyone can do this. The result is a beautiful floor. Thanks to the team at the Cleveland store for great service and advice!

I had this installed in my living, dining, hallways and kitchen as part of a kitchen remodel/whole house redecorating project. I chose it because of the hardness rating and deep, rich color. Was a little leery of the color variations, but am so glad I went ahead with this choice. It is absolutely stunning. The different grains and shades are so beautiful; everyone loves it and so do I! I've had it for 5 months now, and love it more and more. A huge improvement over my outdated carpet.

Please have a professional to do the floors if you are not sure how to lay them. It may cost a liitle more, but the end result is so worth it. Everyday I walk into my house I fall in love all over again with the floors. I recently had a party and the floors were the talk of the party. I very hard to please..... but these floors have exceeded my expectations

We haven't had it terribly long, so I can't speak to the durability and scratch resistance, but we purchased it partially for those reasons. Research on a glue down/overslab installation led us to hire it out and we're glad we did as it looked difficult to install watching them do it. It is in our whole main floor except kit., bath, laundry. It's so gorgeous that each piece is a work of art. Looks just like the picture. I don't want to cover it with furniture or rugs!!

Replaced the carpeting in a bedroom in one weekend. The floor went down easily and looks great. The hardwood has changed the look of the whole room. We are planning our master bedroom next.
