We bought an 1860 cape in Connecticut and wanted the floors to look as close to the originals as we could get. We found this floor and we couldn't be happier!!! My husband, father, and brother installed the whole first floor of our house with it in just two days. They tell me it was really easy to install and we had almost no waste, it seems like at least a piece of a board could be used somewhere. With the extra for waste we ordered we now have enough to do the master bedrom as well, someday the whole house!!! Keep in mind it is pine and will scratch easy, even with two coats of poly but we wanted the whole rustic look so it is working out for us great. We didn't want a perfect "fake, don't walk on me" kind of floor. For extra appeal, my husband faced nailed the floor with old-fashioned nails. We stained it Minwax Cherry and finished it with satin poly. We love it! [...]

great floor easy to install We went with face nailing it with the old fashion floor nails had some scrap but most of it was used for shorter cuts of ripped boards. We used a product called waterlox for the finish with no added stain turned out well.We almost went with laminate but I'm glad we used the pine looks great and for less than a dollar a sq ft how can you go wrong if you want the rustic look.

on-line it said it came in boxes but instead it was bundled and exposed. Outside layers very dirty and broken tungs and broken grooves. I got over it but I sure didn't expect junk to be shipped from the MFG.

It looks suprisingly good. We (my father-in-law and me) installed this flooring in the bathroom.
I would reccomend that you don't try to install it in long pieces. If you want the floor to have little to no gaps, you'll have to use smaller pieces and spend a little time squaring up the ends.
I've had the floor down for about two months now and it seems to be holding up well. The tiolet has overflowed onto the floor and my children constantly splash water on it when they take baths and the floor doesn't look any worse for it.

Installed 140sf in bedroom of an addition, so it was new construction. Very happy with the country look. Face nailed with cut flooring nails for added appeal. Sanded down beautifully with rented square buff floor sander. Coated with 4 coats Fabulon waterbased polyurethane. I was pretty selective, and only had approx 10% waste. There ARE knots - I used the planks with the knots, and only didnt use the ones with machining defects, i.e. chunks broken off of edge. would be impractical to try to work around knots. Will be using this in rest of addition. Very susceptible to dentingand scrstching, but that is in the nature of pine flooring, and has to be expected.

Very little waste. We were very pleased. We bought over 2400 sf and the value with the wood was unbeatable. [...] We would buy it again.

We used Behr porch and floor paint after using a primer in glossy white. Then I stenciled (8 hours) around the boarder of the floor. We love it. We won't mind if it gets wear signs because that is the look we were wanting.
Comments about Clover Lea 3/4" x 6-7/8" x 6' New England White Pine:
Nice but very rustic. I plan to prime and paint but would also look nice stained. Be sure to buy extra because you'll need a lot more than 10% waste. I needed about 25% more (so with normal 10%, you'll need 35%) because of the high number of warped, damaged, or unusable boards. Even with some creativity, we found we needed 25% more than we ordered. Overall, still a great deal despite the high number of unusable boards.

Great looking floor for historic restoration. If you face nail with the square-head, iron nails it looks even better.

Comments about Clover Lea 3/4" x 6-7/8" x 6' New England White Pine:
Initially had similar thoughts to other reviews that it was so cheap that it would be too rough or too cheap of a look. But when they brought it out on the pallet I was amazed how smooth and straight the boards were. They were so smooth you can lay stain down right after installation. I'd recommend 6' lengths over the 8' and the 6 7/8" wide boards for ease of installation. Anything bigger or wider is too prone to warping and cupping. Good luck!

We are restoring a house and these fit perfectly. I was actually kind of nervous because the flooring was so inexpensive that it would look cheap, but it is beautiful and we couldnt be happier. We had it installed leaving a very slight gap between the floorboards [to emulate antique floorboards] and we nailed them down from the face so you can see [slightly] small nail heads. They look GREAT and guests compliment them all the time.
