Comments about R.L. Colston 3/4" x 2 1/4" Red Oak Flooring:

*We installed this flooring ourselves in a 12' x 13' bedroom and a 15' x 3' hallway over a three day weekend. The actual install was labor intensive, but nothing that I wouldn't do again.

*The floor went down with a few minor problems; a few pieces were warped, corners damaged, and/or ugly cuts. But we still had enough to complete the floor without having to open an extra bundle we purchased to allow for 6% waste and defects. With that in mind, we avoided cutting pieces unless absolutely necessary and made sure to stager the long and short lengths.

*The finished floor looks great. There is a lot of color variation in the pieces.

Comments about R.L. Colston 3/4" x 2 1/4" Red Oak Flooring:

I chose to use it in the kitchen as well because the customer wanted to keep a rustic look throughout the house. I sealed it with an epoxy finish due to the possibility of water damage. I expect it to last a very long time.

Service & Delivery comments:

the materials arrived before I expected them and were in excellent condition

Comments about R.L. Colston 3/4" x 2 1/4" Red Oak Flooring:

I bought this product for a large living room. Unfinished turned out to be cheaper by sq. ft. But with a light sanding I finished the floors myself and you cant tell the difference. About 1 or 2 pieces were unusable but overall I was satisfied. The floor has a lot of charecter.

We were renovating a kitchen that had existing oak floors and we needed to seam in new wood in various places because the old flooring did not go under the cabinets. The new flooring was very nice to install and looks great. The clients were very pleased with the job and are looking forward to getting the whole floor sanded and finished. I have no doubt that the finished product will look tremendous

Comments about R.L. Colston 3/4" x 2 1/4" Red Oak Flooring:

I patched in an area of floor that had plywood down. I ripped my floor joists down 3/4 inch and laid the plywood back down as a subfloor. I put in a Walnut border and the unfinished Oak and then refinished the whole place. Now I have Pine, Oak, and Fir, with a Walnut border. It was so easy to install and quite gratifying hitting the staple gun I rented.

Comments about R.L. Colston 3/4" x 2 1/4" Red Oak Flooring:

Did "natural" finish on this flooring. It was beautiful! The grain just jumped out!! Even being #1 grade, it sanded perfectly. The VERY FEW knots just gave the floor character. My husband and I are building a new house and going to have this floor wall to wall!
